I have to admit, my expectations weren't that high since I'm not really the "spa" type, but when I saw the 80% off coupon at RedFlagDeals I decided to treat myself to the Microdermabrasion and IPL photo facial package.
The girl that did my facial (I think her name was Jennifer) was very pleasant and the things she did to my face was, to put it mildly, just heavenly! My face had never been more pampered and loved.
I only paid around $60 for the microdermabrasion + IPL package so when the session was over I was pretty satisfied. I felt it was worth it for the pampering alone. But when I got into the car and looked at the result I was stunned - my face looked amazing!
The regular price for this package is around $300 so it's unlikely I'll be able to do this again anytime soon, but if you have that kind of money lying around doing nothing, or you see this package go on sale, go for it - you won't be disappointed. -

Had a Mani+Pedi. Kate was so nice!
Had troubles with scheduling though. For a "top-notch" spa, they have a very rigid policy on cancellations and were not sympathetic to me having to travel 1.5 hours to get to the spa. I almost turned around and called the coupon a loss!
If Kate hadn't been so pleasant, I'd have written off this place.
It's a nice spa facility. Tranquil except for the airplanes flying above-head, but you forget that once you start the treatment -

When I go home to Markham, I always get my massage at Zen Spa - and my manicure and pedicure needs. All the people who work there should be skilled in all areas. My mom goes and gets the facial there but I don't... it's not my think.
If you have never gotten a massage before - please please please take my advice.
IF IT HURTS - say something. Masseuses say that there is something called "good pain" and if it doesn't feel like good pain, it probably isn't.
My first massage ever was at Zen.. and I think I cried the next day because I was dealing with unbareable pain. I never wanted another massage again but my mom told me to give it another chance. I think it was 8 months before I got another one and since then I've always gone back to the same girl because she rocks - her name's Rattana and she only works Sundays at the moment but I get along awesome with her. It's a massage and girl talk hour which is great. My mom says she gives great facials and doesn't skip corners like she feels like with other estheticians she's had.
The manicures and pedicures are okay. I'm not sure what's the proper procedures and what a superstar manicurist does but I have heard different methods of "painting" your nails. I haven't gotten a manicure without absolutely no problems but I guess it is a part of experimenting.
The place looks like one long hallway with rooms, two massage chairs for people who are getting manis and pedis, and a change room with sauna and shower in the back. Theres a TV with a couch, considered as a waiting room. The music is soothing and overall a very nice place.
Note: the front door is locked at all times. when the lady at the front desk seeks you, she'll unlock it to let you in. Not sure if it's a security measure for them.
