Definitely the best location in terms of getting in and out; the secret is to park on the top level.  Less traffic, more parking spots, and the checkout cashiers is much less shorter than the one downstairs into the Oakridge mall entrance.

Great coming here for sales, household items, home decor, toys and the odd junk food binge.  They carry their own brand of these delish onion garlic rings, lots of flavour and cheap too, $1.29/bag.  A bit healthier than Dorito's b/c it's a smaller bag lol, which most ppl can chow down in front of a home movie.

And their price scanners throughout the store is pretty handy too.

Electronics section is a bit small but when they have sales, it's more than decent. especially their PS3 games.

Zellers is Zellers (messy, out of touch, not very competitive prices), and this location is pretty much out in the boonies as far as new stock is concerned, but I wanted to share that the management team and customer service here has been pretty good in my experience.

I came here to return an item I had bought after the Lansdowne location couldn't do it due to some weird mixup with my receipt in the system.   The girl at customer service initially couldn't figure out how to deal with it (she was young and possibly new), but she called her supervisor over to help.  While I was waiting, a pushy customer was starting to cause a fuss, butting in to everyone else's conversations/transactions and being generally unpleasant to the staff.  I patiently waited, and as the upset lady was being dealt with (she demanded to see the manager), the supervisor promptly dealt with my return.

So while I ended up waiting quite a long time due to the delay caused by another customer, which was not Zellers' fault, I appreciate that they did their best to help me and got it dealt with quickly.  Afterwards, I also let the manager know that the scuffle with the angry lady was not the customer service employee's fault, she was just being nosy and demanding.  I think she appreciated hearing someone say something positive about the employees.

I bought something from here the other day and learned that they now charge for shopping bags.  Tip is to bring your own!

The shopping experience was A-OK.  No screwups at the check-out!

How did you get into Oakridge Mall? I thought they wanted to paint a picture to the clientele of an upscale mall, maybe not? You would think that Zellers would 'up' their store and style being located here but that has never happened. Seeing big brother (The Bay) next door I guess they are able to downgrade themselves and show who is the misfit child in this Hudson's Bay family of companies.

The one thing I never understood in Zellers is the lighting, and this store is no different. That old yellow tinge that makes things look so colourless, added with the grey walls. Also dressing your employees in those uniforms is so 80's. I know fashion has gone retro, but not propping up your staff to make them look like elves all year round!

This location, compared to others, just seems to be disorganized. I wouldn't know where to start. You come in, and see some of their 'flyer' sales right in the front, and then there would be some bigger deals placed in the aisles they should be, and some that are placed in the main walking isles.

I will give this location props for having stock of their sales items, probably because of the location, and for people not really searching for deals at this mall location. I wonder when they will be clearing out when Target takes over, and hope they really revamp this place and make it look respectable to the matching mall!

I found myself here today since it was the most convenient place to look for some kitchen stuff. However I found myself wandering the whole store because I had time on my hands.

I don't know what was going on here but the store was a disaster! Every department had buggies of random crap that was clearly left there by sales associates and not customers. There selection of shoes and clothes seems very limited in sizes. They have a reasonable selection of housewares however at one point I found myself having to climb past a sales associate too busy talking to HERSELF to step out of the way so I could continue browsing.

Worst part of all was when I had to stand in line behind an arrogant couple with a child in the middle of a tantrum and watch them openly steal a chocolate bar and start eating it at the counter without paying for it! The cashier pointed at it twice as asked "are you buying that too" after they had already opened it and both times they said no, but continued to mow down on it. Instead of doing something about it she decided to just ignore it (probably because she makes a shit wage, why bother right?)

Despite the fact that I found what I went for I left scratching my head and wondering why I bothered paying for my items because apparently that's not necessary anymore!

Zellers...some people call it the Target of Canada...those people have clearly never been to a Target...while I guess it is a similar concept at best it's Target's white trash cousin...

I like this location the best..it's pretty clean...well staff and a good place to stop when I'm in the Oakridge area and need a one stop shop for some misc home items...you know..like..laudry detergent, vacuum bags, some cat food, canned beans, mouth wash and a lawn chair..

My only real complaint is that the cashiers move at the speed of me on my way to a sporting event (for those who don't know me, that's slow)...and there is always that lovely senior citizen that holds up the line because they are arguing that the knee highs are 2 for 1....

To crib Kreag S' description, Zellers is kind of "Target's white trash cousin." With its blindingly white linoleum floors and bad lighting, there's no denying that the low cost is what belies most of its appeal. It is its sexiest feature. That being said, there is no reason to pay exorbitantly higher prices when you're likely to get the same quality for more elsewhere.

I like going to Zellers for Halloween costume, cheap candy and Christmas decorations. I wouldn't really go there to buy clothes or anything. Given the cost it would take you to replace it when it eventually falls apart, you're better off just spending more money from the outset.

Craptastic products. Horrible lighting. Staff are incompetent. Check-out lines move at a snail's pace.

If you're thinking of going to the Customer Service desk to get something resolved, you're wrong.

Firstly, I find it very rude when someone interrupts you as you're speaking. And not only that, the person who interrupts you isn't the person you were even speaking to begin with. My experience with Zellers is always subpar. Yes, they have a variety of household products. Why pay more when you don't have to? Well today I decided to go out and buy my little brother a bunch of things for back to school. They have a section of desks and there was one that we were looking at with a sign that clearly stated the price. There was a similar desk at at the end of the shelf and it also had a clear sign that stated the other brand and the price. We go ahead a purchase this desk amongst many other things and start moving to our car.

We stopped and checked the receipt and it looked as though they charged us a different price for the desk. We go down to Customer Service to ask them to do a price adjustment and this is where it all blew over.

First, they don't listen. I tried my best to explain to them that the desk we bought had it's own sign with the price and the desk at the end of the shelf had a different sign stating the price and the brand. They kept saying to me that the one in the flyer is the only with that sales price. The one in the flier is a COMPLETELY different desk and it came with a chair, which we didn't need. After 10 minutes they finally got a guy to go upstairs. To which when he came down finally told the girl that the one she is talking about is a completely different desk as the one I wanted. And that we were right and there was a sign specifically for it. The customer service rep continued to tell the clerk that he was wrong and that that model shouldn't have been priced the way it was and to go take it off. Without any apologies or anything, she continued to press that we were incorrect and that the desk we chose was a completely different model.

I then said I was going to take the one I wanted even though they were clearly wrong. I said, All I want you to do is LISTEN to me. You keep saying that "the sign is wrong" when the sign had the brand, model, etc RIGHT. IT was your fault to have printed the wrong pricing and to stick that onto the shelf. That is not MY fault.

Needless to say, we didn't get anything resolved. We ended up with just leaving and spending the extra money. For such a large corporation, I find the policy of "not admitting your own mistakes" to be a little unsettling. I guess Zellers really doesn't want the business anyway. Next time I know better and will go somewhere else.
