Towels towels towels and more towels! Boy they have shit loads of 'em here! I was on a mission to buy coordinating bath linens and seeing that my mum gave me an HBC gift card for Xmas I figured Zellers would give me more bang for my GC bucks. I also like the fact that I can get pretty much anything useful for the household relatively cheap all under one roof right here at the big Z.
The cosmetic aisle here is a travesty with testers and actual merchandise vandalized and violated, as it becomes clear to me that this Zellers is just barely holding out until Target soon takes it's place. Still there are bargains to be had if you have the patience to root through the entire bed linens department to find the ONE remaining set of intact queen sized sheets. Apparently for $14.97- $24.97 you too can either sleep or shower with Justin Bieber!! Not directly of course, but vicariously through Justin Bieber emblazoned shower curtains or bed sheet sets...hey no need for paternity tests here!!
Sadly the clientele at this Zellers is very much the fringes of the Danforth Village crowd like the alcohol marinated creepsters with missing teeth browsing the mouthwash aisle and rickety old folks in their mobility scooters reading tabloid headlines aloud in earnest while they lineup for the cashier checkout.
It may not be the most leisurely shopping experience, but if you are in need of essentials, don't mind the lack of service or organization, this Zellers proves to be at best utilitarian.Listed in: Fevrier Sans Food
