personally, I like Zellers , it doesn't matter where you go in Canada, you can always find what you need and at a reasonable price. I have had to hunt down clerks in most other department stores and find that this is the norm nowadays.

Depressing.
Looking around this store everything looks sad. Dim lighting. In the age of Target and WalMart supercentres the lack of care and the feel of this place is not acceptable to most shoppers.
I am only commenting on the visual appeal of this place - sloppy displays, piles of clothes everywhere - it seems that noone cares. In my opinion they need to re think the look and branding of all Zellers stores its tired, dated and needs a facelift. What once was the leader in Canadian budget department stores is being overshadowed ( and rightly so) by Walmart. Step into a walmart supercentre ( deerfoot meadows for example) and you will see the difference.
I believe that businesses speak to you through marketing and image and of course service.... Zellers screams - cheap, tired and apathetic. -
Review from Victor P.
If they've got a deal on, sure, but don't expect to be entertained. I wish they would do something about lighting and layout, the place is depressing. Its vibe is more warehouse than retail store. At least Xcess Cargo makes no pretensions to being anything other than a box mover. In Market Mall this Zellers feels totally out of place, in a perverse Store That Time Forgot kind of way. I hope Target rejuvenates it.

This store is a dump. It looks and feels like a flea market: disorganized, empty shelves, dirty floors with merchandise strewn all over, dingy appearance due to 1/4 of the lights being turned off (can't pay the electric bill?) The last time I went (and it will be the last time), the price scanners were broken and the self-checkouts were out of order. The staff ranged from disinterested to clueless...good luck getting checked out in less than 15 minutes. Wal-Mart at Northland Mall isn't the best one around, but it's like Nordstrom compared to this place.
