Some of the most authentic Mexican food I've tasted since I moved from Mexico City to California ... and definitely BY FAR the best Mexican food I've found this side of Albuquerque.

Solid place for Mexican food. The tacos are awesome. If you order them with everything expect some heat (spicy in a good way).

This place is amazing. They make amazing tacos, sell a wide variety of beer and best is bottle of coke and pepsi from Mexico. I used to drive to this place from my apartment. I live a few blocks away now, you can find me here every sunday afternoon and sometimes even weekday nights.
If you are in bushwick and haven't been here yet. You are missing out. -

I ordered the tamales verdes and a beef pastelito. The tamales were dry and salty and the meat was a bit on the tough side. I've had better. The pastelito was very tasty, though.
Not a lot of vegetarian options, if that's what you're looking for.
Service was okay. They got one of our orders wrong, but quickly fixed it when we pointed it out. -

Zefe's is the best!! I go at least once a week! I get the enchiladas regulares with the rojas sauce and it never fails to impress! You may wait a little bit for your food, but chips and salsa are served to tide you over for a few. YUMMMMMM!!!

as i ate my food (fried pork skin w/ rice & beans), i found myself marveling, "QUE SABOR!" as i'm not in the habit of talking to my meals, this is pretty impressive. huge servings and low prices. how can you go wrong? i'm definitely going back to try the chile rellenos and the cuitlacoche quesadilla.
