Zazoo has been around for over 20 years. It's a fixture at the mall and the first store in Edmonton to stock skater and surfer styles - long before they became mainstream cool. Today there are lots of trendy stores with high pricetags that specialize in that subculture's hip and exclusive look. But Zazoo can offer more for less. Their giant store has no added touches of character. It's just a box filled with racks and racks of clothes, so full that it's even hard to walk through the racks. T-shirts line the walls. There are no trendy teenagers in skinny jeans and Vans hawking these wares, just old-schoolers who've been in the biz since back in the day. They're highly competitive with their prices and offer clothing slightly cheaper than what you'd get them for elsewhere. Zazoo always has a $19.99 rack, so there's something for everyone. Some of the brands they stock are Hurley, Billabong and Roxy, to name just a few. As I write this they have a very cute selection of girls' fall jackets that are small and plaid, with fur-lined collars and lots of other hip fashions for the season.

I found the review below quite funny. The name always reminds me of the Lion King too.

The store carries tons of skater style clothing and they often have sales but I find the clothing to be just OK. I am not into this style of clothing at all but I have browsed the store and have sometimes come across things that are decent and not strictly a skater style.

There's no real sense of organization in the store they have clothes jammed onto racks and hanging from the walls so if you are looking, you really have to look.

    What can I say about Zazoo . . .

It's a different store, I'll say that much.  It tries to be trendy but at the same time, I don't understand how it survives.  Zazoo doesn't really have any sort of gimmick, just a store filled with clothes - nothing fancy at all.  But they must be doing something right because they've been around forever.

I don't shop at Zazoo because whenever I walk by, they have a huge rack of MC Hammer pants (you know the ones) out front.  You know the pants with ballooned legs and elastic bottoms that guys named "Tank" wear with their muscle shirts and mullets.  Ya, those ones.  I just can't bear to walk into a store that devotes an entire rack to such a monstrosity!

But I covered my eyes and went in so that I could write this review.

The best way to describe this place is that it's a skater store.  They sell clothes that skaters wear.  Some of their sale prices are decent but I won't pay $60 for a regular priced hoodie.  I can order hoodies online for less - that include shipping!

I wouldn't recommend Zazoo.  There are better options in West Ed.

And the award for Worst Store Name goes to...Zazoo.

Zazoo...really? Isn't that the name of the blue bird in The Lion King? Oh maybe that's where they got the name from? Or...did Disney steal the name from them?! Hmmm, maybe I'm onto something.

Nothing special about this skater clothing store. They do have a decent selection but it's much inferior to that of the other skater stores in WEM like Below the Belt or West 49.

I always get annoyed while shopping here because their clothing racks are all over the place! The store looks like a pile of clothes! But hey, I do get a bit OCD at times so maybe I'm just over-reacting.
