I am pleasantly surprised with Zara's clothes. They look trendy fashionable without being too shouty. Their clothes lean towards smart casual, but some of them are really dressy.

The clothes - jeans and jackets - have proven to be durable. After a couple of years of abuse and careless treatment, they are still in their original shapes. As far as I can tell, there is no visible color wash-out on fabrics.

Attention to detail and sophisticated design elements are a bit lacking, but overall the clothes look very nice. And the prices are amazing!

It is a very crowded store. Loud music and lots of shoppers. But the shelves are spread out to make shopping a bit more relaxing. The clothes are not stacked on top of each other like a Philly sandwich either. They are organized quite nicely to help shoppers browse easily without poking through the pile of clothes. The staffs are kind and helpful.

The ladies' section is more than double the size of men's section.

(my rating fluctuates with this one... sometimes a 2 sometimes a 4)

Wow! I'm surprised at the ratings that this Zara has gotten! In the past, I've heard nothing but but bad reviews from people about the staff and policies...But (I've said it once and I'll say it again) Zara can afford to slack off in those departments because people will continually just keep coming and buying the clothes for the clothes. Yes, they have the BEST styles! Almost like, right off the runway but cheaper! (Well... for some people. For me lately, even Zara has not been affordable.)

Here are some tips for braving the Eaton Centre Zara:

    - If you're looking for something specific that you saw on the website... Call and give the article number (xxxx/xxx). BUT BEWARE ... only call bright and early in the morning or on a not busy day (like monday or tuesday) because you may be on hold forever (as this location is crazy)

    - you can put the item on hold for 24 hours

    - as i mentioned earlier... come to the store on off hours. you'll find that you won't have to wait in a horrendous line for the fitting room, or the cash... the store will be in better shape and thus more conducive to shopping

    - there are 2 sales per year at zara... one at boxing day, and one after the summer. so keep it in mind if youre someone like me who can't even afford zara! at the beginning of the sale you'll find the most selection, but the worst markdowns... if you wait you'll score a bargain but the item is more liekly to be not your size...damaged...less desireable!

    - MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR RECEIPT AND THE TAGS ON. The return policy for new items is 30 days, with a receipt. So you won't get anything if you don't keep it. For sale items, always final sale (which means NO exchange).

    - Eaton Centre has mens, womens, and kids (some stores don't have all 3 sections so check before you go!)

So there you go. I hope this helps to avoid all of the negative feedback that some people get from the store. It's a good place, good clothes, alright prices. The staff are just too busy to take time to help you, and the company is too big to care about your misplaced receipt or worn-once-already-broken clothes. :( If you can put up with stuff like this, AND you follow my helpful hints, then try Zara!

The past.week or so I was on the lookout for a particular jacket that I saw online. Normally I prefer to shop at the Yorkdale location because one, its closer to me, two, I enjoy the layout as it manages to remain tidy and neat unlike other stores, even during heavy traffic, and three, it has two floors that include men and children, which means a large selection.

I was able to find my jacket and in my size. Unfortunately the sensor ripped a large hole in it. I'm guessing as people tried to adjust the belt for size, it tugged on it harder than it should have.

In any event, I was already in love and so, asked if there were other ones in back. The lady in fits was nice and curteous, even holding my Second Cup, as I changed, calling a runner to check for me. I noticed that him on the other hand, as well as much of the other staff were not as nice; rude even. They were more concerned about folding and maintaining the shelves than being helpful to customers and making a sale. Whatever. Why some people in retail remain cocky is beyond me...You're easily replaceable and you're not even on salary.

Anyways, they had no other size and didn't even want to sell me the jacket I tried on. They snatched it and put it somewhere in back. I read somewhere its company policy.

I went to Fairview Mall and called MapleView Mall. No luck. MapleView didn't even carry the style.

I contiued to call Eatons Centre, losing hope. But to my surprise they had it! Not only that but the lady was able to put it on hold for me for the rest of the day and she was very nice at that. I called in the morning- she could have easily ignored it. That was the first time I've been to that particular Zara's.

It was a mad house. Tons of people rummaging through, carrying all their goodies. And although it was busy and messy, I noticed that they had my size (xs) in almost everything, as well as one of each.

And I heard about Zaras not being known for their customer service, but the staff here was so nice!

Definitely going to go here more often. They seem to carry styles that other locations don't.

Ok so, I;m not all that impressed with Zara. Apart from their personal being stuck up and a bit snooty, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Allow me to explain. I recently purchased a pants (size 30, which normally fits) bought it, went home to try it on and I couldn't even close the button. So I returned them and went for a size bigger(size 32) thinking that will fit. So I tried them on at home and guess what now they two big. Sadly I missed placed my receipt and called them up to see if I can do a simple exchange, in which they told me that with no receipt I could not do a exchange or get a refund. Most stores I've been too at least try to help you out if you don't have the receipt, as long as the tags were still on it was never an issue unless u wanted a refund. But in this case it was a simple exchange for a different size.

So I might have to rethink going to that store in the future

My husband has lost 45 lbs since the last suit he purchased, which was about 7 years ago. We're talking classic cut jacket and pleated pants, people. We had a small budget ($300) and one week before a wedding we were attending to find something that didn't make him look like a 15-year-old using his dad's suit for his first interview.

Since he can only tolerate so much shopping at a time, I figured the mall was our best bet to find something within a couple of hours. We tried Banana Republic (very nice suits! great quality! but wayyy over our budget - next time...), H&M (great prices! bad styles!), and Tristan (nice!). Tristan's suits are the most comparable in quality, cut and styles - they may even have more variety, but for our money, we got more out of our purchase from Zara. We found a slim fit, dark charcoal jacket and matching pants for less than $200 after tax, which left room in our budget for a new shirt, tie and belt to complete the look. Success!

Zara is a great place to pick up modern and trendy pieces at discount prices. They have a huge selection of clothing - from dresses and skirts to jackets, pants and even shoes. I love this place for staples like tank tops for $10 and dress shirts for $25.

They also carry a line of higher end clothing that is a little pricier but made of good quality materials and more sophisticated cuts. Personally, I prefer Zara to H&M because although it's slightly pricier, the quality of the clothing is MUCH better.

However, because this is a discount type of clothing store (and it's also unisex) you'll have to deal with picked over racks and tables of clothes - especially at this location. But if you love a good discount, this place is definitely worth it.

Usually I am stuck at Zara's on Long Island standing there while my wife tries on various items. So when I saw a Zara in the mall I said to my wife "no way, we are on vacation, you can model clothes for me to look at back home." But she says to me that this Zara is unisex, so I say, oh ok cool. Twenty minutes later...I am standing in Zara, watching her try on new clothes.Damn my wife and her shopping trickery!
