I just want to put a huge Yelp shout out to the Youth Volunteer Corps who are basically what they claim to be Youth Volunteers. This group's mandate is to utilize youth members to volunteer for local events in the city of Calgary and within it's community.
A simple application has to be filled out with the dates and requirements of the event and project and YVC will send out a minimum of 6 volunteers to come and support you with your event.
The coordinator that I dealt with when seeking the volunteers was both organised and extremely amenable in answering any questions I had about the program. The event was successful and ran extremely smooth and this is all because of the dedicated hard work of these fine youth volunteers.
What a huge and ever so useful program that should be recognised publicly as much as possible.
