If you like blues, it's the place to be, if you like fun in the sun, the roof top bar will turn your crank.  The food is all you would expect, prices don't kill...another excellent place to go hang your hat down on Spring Garden Road.  The more i get to know Halifax, the more it's all that! And it's great that the staff remembers you..(hmm..is that a good thing?)
Once the sun comes out, i'll be on that roof top once again drinkin' a dirty martini, looking down onto the road at people who wished they were me!

    Outstanding place...

Consistency,. thy name is Your Father's Moustache. In the years that I've been coming to the Moustache, I can't recall ever having a bad meal here. Granted I generally go for the usual pub offerings here like fish and chips, burgers, nachos and their famous Pub Club, but there's nothing wrong with doing the simple things right. In fact, it's key for a good restaurant to do those simple things right as they are often a bellwether of the other offerings on the menu.

There are so many reasons why you can choose to go to the Moustache, including, but not limited to the following: watching the game, having a drink, the friendly atmosphere, people watching, stuffing your face, enjoying one of the best patios in the city, seeing an electric train in a bar. I suggest combining all or most of the above for the optimal Moustache experience. Especially the food and drink.

After a bit of an unintentional hiatus from the 'Stache, I've been here a few times in the past month, and all served as a reminder of why this place is so enjoyable. I had some great nachos that were layered with lots of cheese and veggies. The Pub Club once again proved itself worthy of its Hali-fame with perfectly buttered and grilled bread, moist chicken, tasty bacon and cheese contrasted with the crunch of the shredded lettuce and zing from the onion, and special sauce that I swear tastes a lot like Mac sauce (in a good way). The fries, while likely of the frozen variety due to being coated for extra crispiness, are delicious and I'd take them any day over a limp and somehow still burnt fresh cut fry that you often see around the city. And while it may not yet be summer, my taste buds have shifted into that mode and I've been consistently ordering my favourite summer beer - Rickard's White draft.

The servers here are friendly and professional and certainly stand out against sub-par service at many of the city's other pubs.

The Moustache operates the middle of a Venn diagram of a British pub, chain restaurant, and sports bar. It is its own special place, and really one of Halifax's special spots. I look forward to warmer days and evenings when I'll be up on the patio with friends and beer sitting around a fire pit while I run up way too high of a tab. Cheers, YFM.

If you are craving for some good chicken wings, then the Your Father's Moustache restaurant is the answer. This place serves very good and fresh chicken wings although I would say the size of the wings is kinda small. Perhaps, it could be due to the fact that we went on the Wing Night. :-(.

This place also offers six different types of sauce to go with the wings. We ordered the "suicide" and the "curry mayo" sauce. No disappointment and we enjoyed every bit of it.

The atmosphere was great and the servers know the menu well. Overall, it was a good experience for us. The best chicken wings in town! We look forward to going back there in the summer to enjoy the rooftop patio and other food in the menu.

Tip: If you plan to go on the Wing Night (which is Thursday night) and don't want to be disappointed, be sure to be there as early as 5PM. If not, be prepared for a long wait in queue.

    Your Father's Moustache - A Halifax landmark.

The "Stash" is an established landmark in Halifax that gets lots of attention - especially in the summer - this can either be a good thing or a bad thing.

The good thing - tonnes of people means that you know the food is good. There's a lot of staff around to help you at any time. Their menu is pretty standard and it's stable, which is good for a restaurant like this. Anddd it has a patio!

The bad thing - tonnes of people means that it's loud. This is a university hot spot so on the weekends it can get a little rowdy. In the summer, the patio is packed and it can be hard to find a spot, but then again, that's what it's mainly known for right?

I really am a fan of the Stash - I love the veggie burger and the fries are probably my top choice in the city. The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is fun and casual.

If you don't mind crowds, and stairs, this place is for you!

The best thing about the food at The Mustache is that it's consistent.  You always know what you're going to get.

The Mustache is a great place to go for lunch because they are like a well oiled machine.  The servers know the menu and the service is always very fast.

I like the atmosphere at The Mustache, it's just a relaxed place to go for a bite when you're in a hurry.

Love the atmosphere. Love the food. Especially the wings. The breading was excellent and wing nights are a great time to go and enjoy the usual noisy crowd. But heck, the wings makes it all worthwhile - especially when they are 40c a piece. Come early on Thursday (wing night starts at 5pm), so that you don't have to wait too long. Only thing I would like though was that the size of the chicken be a wee bit bigger. Compared to others like Bubba's and Pouge Fado, they were smaller. 10 pieces wasn't enough for me.

I love the rooftop patio. Love it!! I've mostly spent summer days and afternoons up there, but one evening I went with my family we got a table on the rooftop with the fire pit in the middle! How awesome is that? I finally got to experience it! I'm usually one of the creeps sitting on the side lines, looking down at you while you're enjoying the fire in the middle of your table, all cozy and awesome-like. But, not that day!

I've never had any issues here, the staff are awesome - they actually interact with you, not just bring you your food and go on with their job; they make the YFM "experience" that much better.

I find the menu average; it's not bad, but not extraordinary, just average. They do have an above average brunch menu though! Definitely not a place you'd expect to have a great brunch, but they do! Saturday and Sunday only though!

Their drink menu is pretty extensive; lots of options!

Must try: The Pub Club (it was actually voted the best in Halifax!) and the Banana Carmel Cheesecake (I don't even care if it comes out of a box, it's BANANA CHEESECAKE!)

To start: I kind of want to give the stache a 4.5. Simply because if you place it in the other categories of 5, the food doesn't really compare. We aren't talking top chef quality but that doesn't in no way mean it isn't delicious. The atmosphere, patio, and everything else, bumped this rating back up to a 5.

My moustache. Oh how I love thee. The number of plates of nachos that I have put back here is more than likely disgusting. It would probably average out to 2 a week. They are by far my favorite nachos in the city (sorry shoe shop). Writing a review for this place gives me a slight bit of anxiety, simply because I love it so much. Let me count thy ways as to why I love the stache and why you need to go if you haven't already

    1) Obvs, the chos are my list. The Coast rates them as the 2nd runner up in the city. When it comes down to it, it is entirely based on preference of what you're looking for in a cho. For me, its tons of tomatoes and jalapenos with sour cream and salsa. The stache delivers that to me every time, and lots of it. Not too pricey and effing delish. Win win.

    2) The food in general at the stache isn't what I'd call gourmet. They certainly have a few solid dishes that I do enjoy. The pub club for starters. Winner of the 2011 Best clubhouse sandwich, the pub club has charbroiled chicken breast, mozza, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion all on a fab hunk of grilled French bread. Sounds simple, but it is pretty bomb. Other favorites are the almond grape salad, spring rolls, and the chicken dinner.

    3) The stache also has one ballin' patio in the summer time. Halifax's patio season is like none other and you are always lucky if you can nab a seat at the stache. With an awesome view of spring garden road and tabletop fire places make for an awesome summer venue. The heat lamps also make it doable into September.

    4) I've always had great service at the stache. I find them super fast even when they are busy. The number of times I've eaten there, I have yet to come across a bad egg of a server.

    5) This place is massive. It is great if you want to get a bunch of people together and not have to worry about being elbow to elbow. It's a solid place to chill for beers with 20 of your buddies, last minute.

    6) They have my most fav breaky in all of the land. Super cheap (6.75$) for the breakfast special which is: 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of toast, lots of fruit, and for a little extra cents you get hash browns. Again, it comes fast and powerful for the emergency hangover incidences.

    7) The have my fav buckets of candy at the door for when you leave--not to worry, they don't mind if you take a handful.

    8) There are lots of tv's strategically placed around the joint to occupy your boyfriends mind and attention the entire time you eat.

    9) The caesars! So far, they are my favorite in the city. Served with a wicked stalk of celery and just the perfect amount of spice. I crave these bad boys day and night. Perfect for breakfast to start the day off just right or for the start to your evening. They go heavy on the vodka, which goes undetected. So proceed with caution (I never do)

    10) Just do it.

Was in Halifax for 3 nights. Liked this place so much the first night, we went back the next two. Food was good. Atmosphere was great. They have specials each night that are pretty good deals. Nachos were good too. They even had an American football game on instead of hockey reruns!  AWESOME.
I did not like the wings though... they need to rethink the way they make those.
Just plain breaded with sauce on the side...

I ventured to "Your Fathers Mustache" on a Saturday evening. The downstairs looked to be quite busy and noise polluted but I was quickly lead up to the roof, where it was much calmer. The view from the roof was splendid, especially because the sun was starting to set, which made for a lovely atmosphere.

The menu covered the basics, it had nothing that I would call innovative or different. I ended up going with the Mustache burger and fries, which had onion rings, banana pepers, pulled pork, cheese, tomato, lettuce. The burger was pretty tastey, the patty was a little too hidden with all the fixin's on top. The fries were perfectly crispy and enjoyable.

Service was just a'ight for me, dawg. The waitress seemed a bit impatient and barely made eye contact when she floated passed. I felt like it was because she was afraid we'd ask her for something. The check took longer than I would of liked it to, it surpassed the amount of time I like to sit and let my feast settle.

The restaurants  few shortcomings were nothing major, I certainly did enjoy the rooftop scene, and perhaps most importantly my meal. I'd visit agian.

Visited the stache today for a quick lunch.  So a quick lunch will result in a short review!

Menu selection?  Fair size, I would challenge anyone to not find anything on the menu to their liking.  I did go for the soup and sandwich special (curry beef soup and greek wrap).  Generous portions with some home made potato chips on the side.  Not too bad at all!  Great for a lunch.  Tasty and filling.  They had a fish special, pasta special and the soup and sandwich special (this one comes with a pop or coffee/tea).  All reasonably priced.

Here's where I was a little... irritated.  I don't drink pop, Carbonated beverages or alcohol.  So when I ask for water, it is met with a pseudo eye roll.  It happens at more dining (and drinking) establishments than I care to mention.  Did it cause me to lose my appetite? Heck no.  Did I tip any less?  Nope.  But more eye rolls makes Lori an unhappy patron.

If you are looking for quick, satisfying, on average tasty eats - you could be happy here.

It is a sad day for my review's because I have to write a slightly negative one. Hopefully I'll put some humour into it though.lol.

I love Your Father's Moustache for lunch and some evenings. BUT I have found their weakness. Mornings! We had such a bad experience I'd recommend everyone just don't go. And to the staff at Your Father's Moustache...don't open until 11:30am.

I'm home for the Holidays and we wanted a quick bite before we did some shopping. "We" being my mother, sister and my five year old Niece. Well they don't have a breakfast menu seven days a week and we weren't on one of those days when they did. But there was a kids menu with grilled cheese and fries which my Niece loved.

My mother is a Vegetarian and so its tough in restaurants like this one. They don't have a big selection for Veggie's. But the food wasn't even the issue. It was the staff. The female who served us did not have a smile on her face. Now I'm used to Halifax having spotty Customer Service. There are many people who have no problem showing you their real moods. BUT somehow many of them still pull off some passable Customer Service. This woman did not.

We asked for water with lemon. She brought back water. We asked for lemon, received no apology then she brought a bowel of lemon's. They weren't cut in the middle but oh well. Hopefully that was the extent of the bad service cause that's pretty minor. But it was not.

Well the big bad moment happened. We ordered our food and my mother ordered the grilled cheese from the kids menu cause all she wanted was a grilled cheese. The Waitress came back with our food and nothing for my mother. At this point my mother wasn't at the table and the Waitress explained that adults couldn't order from the kids menu and a grilled cheese would cost $6.00. Okay...If it was busy and this were normal hours for the restaurant...I get it. I don't get making all of us wait for our food and not explaining the price difference beforehand. Now we all have food and my mother didn't. So that was strike one. Strike two was the fact that there were two tables in the entire restaurant. That's it. The only two tables with customers. My god you can make an exception in this case and just get a kids menu. Plus she's a Vegetarian! Your menu is hard enough but she's willing on paying money to be there.

I didn't see the expression on the Waitresses face when my mother didn't tip her but she didn't seem surprised either.

Note to the owners: Watch your morning staff because they know its the morning. They know they won't get a lot of customers. But my mother and my family normally tip at 20% minimum. I'm serious. My hair stylist gets a $15 tip for a $22 hair cut. That's just how we are. So when we don't tip (last time I think was 1998), it's because of extremely terrible service. So please keep an eye out because I'm not coming back to your restaurant. One bad day was all I needed.

I think the photos of those overly impressed women in the men's washroom are hilarious. I've met some great staff, especially the guys. And I'm not sexist. It just stands out to everyone that then men at your restaurant seem to be in better moods than the women. And the food is decent and well priced. But after this woman's terrible mood and surprisingly bad skills as a Waitress, I won't risk it. Not when there are a ton of restaurants on this street that are just as good if not better with more consistent levels of Customer Service.

If you need help with training, here's how it should have went.

Me - "Hi we'd like some water with lemon's."
    Her - "No problem"
She returns with said water and lemons.

Me - "We'd like burger's, fries, etc....and my mother would like the same as my Niece."
Her - "Oh I'm so sorry. But adults can't order from the children's menu."
My Mother - "Okay. What other options do you have? I'm a Vegetarian"
The conversation continues in a positive way.

    Or Plan B
Me - "We'd like burger, fries etc....and my mother would like the same as my Niece."
Her - "Well normally we don't let adults order from the kids menu. But we aren't busy right now and if you promise not to tell anyone I bent the rules it's not a problem ;)"
Everyone - "You are great and thank you. We promise"

    BIG TIP - THE END

I do apologize for my dialogue. Not my best writing but you get the point ;).

Your Father's Moustache isn't like any pub I've been to before.  Sure you can go to have a few drinks, but that's not the sole focus.

Your Father's Mustache is a great spot for a casual bite, a couple pints, and a pretty chill scene.

Sure, university students definitely Cole here to get wasted on occasion, but unlike spots like the Split Crow, that's not this bar's sole purpose. It's more of a space where anyone can pop in for a good time whatever that may be.

The menu is big and covers the bases for just about anyone: pub food, pastas, and a pretty decent weekend brunch. Will it win Iron Chef awards? No. Does that mean you won't enjoy it? Definitely not. Food snobs need not apply.

Make sure you follow the winding road of staircases to get to the rooftop patio on sunny days. It's a gem!

If you like socializing on the patio in the summer this is the place to be.

I have been here on quite a few occasions but I have mixxed feelings. The food really isnt anything to tall about; a lot of it is quite bland and boring.

The service is ok, but being ID'd by a boy that could be your kid brother is slightly awkward.

I like the decore, and some of the speciality drinks are ok.

Being a student means that your buddies will drag you to "Your Father's Moustache" every once in a while whether you like it or not!

I personally think that one must have more convincing arguments than "the waitresses are hot" when dragging someone to an eatery; but that's just me! I'm weird like that! And am I the only one who thinks their first criterion on hiring a waitress is "cup size"?

Food is quite bad but then there is alcohol and thank goodness for that! Being tipsy helps with the food too!

It's still a good spot to hang out with the folks to chat and drink but you must go in with low expectations for food; something I've been practicing a lot lately. And it's not easy I assure you!

I've been here twice now. The first time would have gotten a five star review, I had to take off a few points for the second time. If I could I'd give it 4.5 stars.
First, the positive. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. Food arrives fairly quickly, and very tasty. The atmosphere is nice and laid back but with some energy. And I LOVE seeing the all pictures of crazy moustaches on the way up the stairs!

The not-so positive: The walls are covered in TVs. It's like they're trying to be a sports bar and not a sports bar at the same time. I'd vote for not a sports bar and take down the the many silent TVs.
When I went the second time, I ordered the veggie burger. Our waitress came back about five minutes later to say that they were out of veggie burgers! It was only 4:30pm, how could they be out? I looked over the menu again at my limited veggie options and ordered the Manicotti instead. It was good, if only a tube of pasta with cheese and sauce. And to be fair, my dining companions very much enjoyed their meals.

    Oh the Mustache.....

I hit this place up with a friend mostly for the patio. I will say the Mustache has one of the best patios in town. Our server was super amazing and patient even though we were totally *that* table that took approx 283768347 minutes to order because we were too busy talking.

    But the food? Yikes.....

My friend had a nice looking cup of chowder to start with, I'll say that. The mains however were... well, not great.

I ordered the veggie burger, which, full merits for being homemade. However. It was a slightly soggy? Unfirm? I'm not sure the adjective here, combined with frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, lima beans and corn) mixed in. It was not great. The cheese I added didn't even help...

My friend got the tuna pasta salad and was equally underwhelmed.

We did manage to show up during happy hour which was nice. All in all, Mustache= great for beer and patio, if you're looking for culinary delights? Maybe not so much...

The Moustache is one of the most reliable places downtown to get some grub. Burgers, chicken fingers, nachos, club sandwiches and lots of other typical things are on the menu; weekends and holidays have a good brunch selection.

There's lots of tables and a good patio on the roof. Great in the summertime. Service is good; staff are friendly and helpful.

A good place to grab a bite for lunch or a low-key dinner.

I'm visiting from New York.  My hotel room looks right out onto the rooftop patio of this place, so of course I had to check it out.

Most importantly, it was packed.  A few of the reviewers speak of fast service, but that wasn't my experience.  It was pleasant, but decidedly slow.  The food was just OK.  The French Onion soup was pretty good, but the linguine and meatballs had obviously been in a microwave.  The meatballs were tough, like mini-basketballs covered with tomato sauce.

I went to the rooftop patio afterwards for a drink.  It's nice, and the open pit fires in the center of some of the tables are cute, but I still wouldn't be excited about spending a lot of time here.

I ended up here because it's close to my apartment and it was raining, not because the reviews prompted me to go here. However, the atmosphere is quite chill and laid back and I could see returning for a good amount of pints. The food was nothing to write home about and was quite mediocre. The saving grace? It is 1/2 price pasta night on Mondays so my chicken parmesan pasta was $7.50. The chickpea salad to start is worth trying though - good mix of peppers and avocado as well.

I don't think the Moustache has the best food in the city, but there are a few things that keep me coming back: Nachos, weekend brunch, the amazing rooftop patio. And of course, the buffalo chicken sandwich, which is one of my favorite sandwiches in the city. A breaded chicken breast smothered in Frank's hot sauce and covered with cheese? Yes, I'll take that along with a possible heart attack.

I'll just start off by saying that i've been going to 'The Moustache' for years and perhaps it's me, but it seems to be slipping. It's also possible that since i'm not a student anymore my tastes have expanded beyond chicken wings and caesar salad, I doubt it though.

For one thing, when you're a pub in a city of pubs and you've enjoyed a decent amount of success that isn't a pass to provide mediocre food and service. The Moustache ought to be striving to attain new clientele and (most importantly) keep your old patrons satisfied! The icing on the cake for me was being forced to move off the patio because we were at a table of four, and we were only a deuce. First come, first serve means just that! I could continue with these anecdotal bad service stories but i'm sure you get the point. Really, I have 3-4 more.

In a nut shell, head to The Moustache if you're willing to wait in line for  wings on a thursday night. I should also mention that their happy hour runs daily form 4:30pm-7pm. Domestic bottles are reduced to $3.75 and well shots (house vodka, gin, rum, whiskey) are $3.00. The Moustache does have an amazing roof top patio as well with excellent views of the city! All in all, the patio is enough for me to give it another shot next spring, but The Moustache has certainly fallen from grace in my books.

Normally go there for their wing night. I like their wings and sauces, crispy and tasty but a little oily. I also like their spinach salad. But other than those, the menu is pretty normal.

Your Father's Moustache is a much loved Halifax haunt. With its eclectic variation of pub-styled food and a summertime patio, The Moustache accommodates happy services for folks of all ages.

Summertime is the best time for this spot. Its rooftop patio boasts grande sunlight, greenery, and a prime view of downtown scenes. This is reason enough to pop in for a visit.

The menu isn't my ideal fare, but many can appreciate its hearty fixings of burgers, nachos, soups and flavourful assortments. Its a fun place to be during the warm months with great service and surroundings. I'd suggest giving it ago on a sunny day out!

I've always had a love/hate relationship with the Moustache. When it's good, it's decent pub food (an especially great club sandwich) at a moderate price, but when it's not good...I find myself wondering why I still bother.

To start, the decor is great, it's a fun atmosphere that is always busy and full of things to check out. The Gentleman's bathroom never fails to illicit a chuckle from my Father, and I have to agree with him, the joke is pretty funny...even if it is pottie humor (rim shot!)

The staff, like the establishment itself, can be hit or miss. Usually they are friendly, but on occasion I have waited a long time for service during low-traffic times. This is especially annoying when you can see the staff hanging out at the bar. My assumption is that they are occasionally overstaffed and when this happens there might be a "Someone else will get them" mentality.

As I've said, the food is decent. Weekend brunch is cheap and filling, but cooking for a mass audience can sometimes mean your specific requests can slip through the cracks. Also, because of the volume of customers, you can sometimes get the feeling that your food has been sitting under a heating lamp. All these complaints can be thrown out the window when the Moustache isn't busy. If you are lucky enough to grab a bite at the right time, it's great (Definitely order the nachos to start if your in a group! Delicious and pretty filling!)

As I've said, I'm torn over Your Father's Moustache. It's the kind of location that's a great meet up point before or after a movie, to watch the game or to cure that Sunday morning headache with a classic greasy spoon breakfast. That being said, it's not without flaws, most notably, consistency. It can be a roll of the dice when you eat here, but it's definitely worth the visit.

And definitely check out the bathroom...

Always consistent, friendly staff, fast service. Nothing fancy...but the food is consistently good. Summertime on the patio gets five stars. Go for brunch, get schmammered on Caesars and spend the day people-watching for a true Halifax experience.

I crack up every time I think of heading out for dinner or drinks at this place.  Come on, it's called Your Father's Moustache.  How can anyone not find that funny?  And, to top it off, they've got silly pictures of people with weird moustache's lining the stairs on the walk up to the pub.  It'll get me every time!

I find the atmosphere in this place to be positive and refreshing.  I actually feel a little happier each time I go to Moustache.  Everyone always seems to be having such a great time and really enjoying themselves.  The servers and bartenders in this place seem to be exceptionally nice, as well.  We are always greeted with a smile, which lasts throughout the entire service.  I'm telling you, it's upbeat in here.

I went there the other Saturday just for dinner, but instead we got a show.  There was a live band playing (I can't remember the name) and the sure brought people to the dance floor.  I think it's safe to say that the majority of the dancing crowd were other folks, but that doesn't mean they didn't know how to kick up a storm.  It was such a treat watching them all enjoy themselves so much.  I actually thought my parents would have a gay ol' time at this place.  The place was packed full of life when this band was playing.

Finally we reach food quality and price.  I can't even complain in this area.  A soup and salad meal is only $7 and it's definitely enough to fill you up.  I like all the veggies they use in their salad; it's different from the usual greens and a slice of tomato.  They make delicious food and serve it up pretty quickly.

I hope that when I get old Moustache is still around so I can party it up like those folks.  It looked like everyone was having so much fun.  Like I said, it's an uplifting environment!

Your Father's Moustache has been a "Landmark Pub & Eatery" on Spring Garden Road for as long as I can remember. It is a second story tenant, and claims to have the best patio in the city. While I've never experienced any of the live entertainment that always seems to be advertised here, I've stopped in many times for brunch and dinner. Most of the time it is extremely busy (I don't think I've ever seen more than five tables empty at a time) and I've never been able to successfully snag a patio table here. Service usually takes pretty long because of how busy it normally gets around meal time, and no one stood out as being overly nice or friendly, just frazzled.

The food is one thing that the Moustache can really brag about. They have menu mainly consisting of pub food classics (clubhouses, burgers, fish and chips) but also some gems thrown in like mussels, the almond grape salad, and my most recent craving, their Lobster Roll. Brunch (which runs til 3 on weekends and holidays) is less exciting, mainly classic dishes, which arrive suspiciously fast for being "freshly prepared".

Overall I would much rather come here just to enjoy a beer and some appetizers than a whole meal, it's less of a wait and pretty cheap thanks to great prices. Party planning? Call to reserve for special events.

Hot Hint: The ATM just inside the front entrance is great when you're downtown and in a pinch for cash.

On a hot summer afternoon, the rooftop patio at the 'Stache is a popular place to kick back and enjoy a few cold ones and the company of your friends.

And even on the rainy days, this pub/restaurant is popular with students and the young working crowd. Prices are pretty affordable, and the menu features burgers, pasta, seafood, steak and chicken dishes. You won't be bowled over by the food, but you won't go away hungry, and if you enjoy a busy, bustling atmosphere, you'll be happy here.

The spinach salad is a good choice - lots of fresh baby spinach, mushrooms, real bacon, fresh egg slices and mozzarella - and I have a friend who LOVES the cold pasta salad so much that she has it every time we go.

It's sometimes tough to get a table here on weekend evenings, but there's enough turnover that you generally won't have to wait long.

Your Father's Moustache is a nifty place with a big pull.  The combination of great decor paired with super service ensures that you'll be coming back over and over.

I'm a fan of their rooftop patio through the warmer months, but I also enjoy sliding into a booth throughout the winter and ordering up some mouth-watering potato skins, washed down by one of the brews on tap.

I even took my not-father-in-law (my boyfriend's dad) here and he had a fantastic time.  The little train that makes its way above your head to the bar and back is amusing and lends a touch of whimsy to otherwise standard pub atmosphere.

Try to avoid wing night, if you can - the place goes wild.  And if rumor is to be believed, they do a great Saturday brunch - well into the afternoon, even.

Your Father's Moustache, located in downtown Halifax, is a fun place to go for drinks, entertainment, or for a bite to eat. Specializing in pub food, the restaurant offers a roof-top patio in the summer and is open late every night of the week.

Menu favorites are the Pub Club and the weekend Brunch. Thursday night is Wing Night and is a huge hit with the University students, but you'll want to get there early or you may not get a seat. On Saturday afternoons there is live entertainment with Joe Murphy and the Water Street Blues Boys.

Your Father's Moustache had great Matinees. We enjoyed the Saturday afternoon gigs of live entertainment.

The food was good, but not great. It is a tavern so expect a limited menu. Although they could branch out some on that.

The inside is pretty nice and lots of tables. I like the bar area as well. It is always a fun time at the "Stache" , as we call it. Most people make it a regular stop while out.

I must admit...and perhaps it's my age, but I find this place over the top noisy and the food mediocre. That said, if you're young, and sports minded, this is a great hangout. Lots of huge TV screens showing every sporting event imaginable.

A large bar, if you're just into drinking and nibbling and lots of seating, although on the three occasions we went it seemed disorganized and I was quite frustrated by the time we got seated. Good thing the food came quickly -

Saturday from 4-8 there's live music and if you love crowds, join in the fun.

Thursday night is wing night pretty much everywhere but at the stash is the place to be. People have always flocked to the stash for a good time and do not leave unsatisfied.

Wings come in several flavours hot, mild, blue cheese, suicide and honey garlic with all sauce on the side, yes I like the hot and spicy ones. The size of the wings are nice and big you know some places serve small bones for wings. As well the fish and chips are great as a supper choice, the battery is really nice and crispy $11.99 if I am not mistaken, sorry I did not pay.

The atmosphere is always fun and light hearted not a location that you have to sit with your back to the wall and your wallet locked to you pants.

It is a lovely day in Halifax today. We've only just broken the seal on March, but somehow spring is making its presence known.

With all of this sun, I can't help but be desirous, coveting a beer on a patio looking out over the city. Although I don't go to the Moustache any other time of year, when the sun is out, I really like climbing up to their rooftop patio.

It is set up very nicely, with lots of flowers and little nooks to hang out in. There are even tables that surround little fire pits, giving it a bit of a beach party vibe.

The food is pretty good for pub fare. I've had the veggie burger a few times as well as the nachos. My favorite thing to order here though is a pitcher of Ricard's White. It is such a good summer time bevie, especially when paired with a honking slice of orange.

When the sun is high in the sky and the breeze warm and gentle, take a hike up to the patio at Your Father's Mustache. It's often pretty busy but you shouldn't have to wait to long for a table. Then it's smooth summertime sailing from there on out.

Love it here... and I'm not a sports fan and could care less about the TV's and noise.  There are plenty of other so called pubs that are drabby and loud.

I find the price is just right for what you get. Their breakfast is always good, and the lunch menu is great!

Not a big fan of the rooftop, if it's windy or too sunny it can be unpleasant.
