Another highlight of Toronto!! Lots of nice shops here and a great movie theatre!
We sat down for a nice dinner at Rainforest cafe and got excellent service coupled with excellent food.
Although we did not rent a car during our trip, it was surprisingly easy to get to by public transportation (rail and bus). -

I got to the mall at 10:00 AM to study at Starbucks. After studying I did some shopping with my friend. We went out to load our school stuff in my car's trunk, and we noticed that suddenly the mall turned into a car dealer lot. It was around 1:00pm. And the parking lot was full! So many people fighting for spots, roaming around the mall, and just staying in one spot to wait for a car to leave. One lady was trying to park, and a guy took her spot as soon as the car left. She then got out to argue with the guy... They argued for quite a bit long time. Meanwhile, we were in the car to look at some school stuff, and several drivers asked if we were leaving. I kindly gave them a waving gesture saying "no". One gave me a finger. One shook his head. And another yelled "take your fucking business elsewhere if you're not going to the mall" Wow.
We then headed inside for shopping. And guess what? All the stores were empty. Even Zara and Aritzia were quiet. Only Apple store was crowded but half the people inside were employees. Almost no one was holding shopping bags.
Did everyone come to the mall to take a walk? People. Those walking around the mall in Dawn of the Dead were mindless zombies, not shoppers... Or was there some Thriller mob dance that I missed?
Yorkdale is going through an expansion construction. Really?!?!? 1/3 more building space with shops and stores is needed? "Be inspired" with additional food courts? Do they think we starve at home? I don't want more food courts or clothing stores. More parking space is needed. Remember that Holt parking lot didn't do much to reduce parking problems during holiday season evenings? Now parking problem is worse, and it was only 1:00PM. Imagine how it will be in the evening without Holt parking lot.
A little trivia. Did you know most cars in Toronto are stolen at Yorkdale parking lot? And they are stolen during daytime! And is it just me, or don't some people who come to Yorkdale know how to park? How the f**k did they get out of their cars if they had parked so close to mine!?!?!?!? Am I supposed to believe they are shape-shifters who need only 2 inches of gap between door and side panel to exit their cars? Even a snake will struggle to squeeze through that. I'm pretty sure I got those door dings at Yorkdale.
At least the stores are good. But the parking nightmare is a turn-off big enough to stay away. I've started shopping at Square One and Sherway Garden since past couple of years ago. Much more dignified shopping experience, and there are stores that I wasn't familiar with. Those stores carry excellent items too. And parking space is decent size, and I can comfortably swing my big door open wide for easy ingress+egress. And best of all, Square One has better entertainment and dining options as well.
Yorkdale. You used to be cool. You changed, man. You changed. -

I love Yorkdale. One of the best in Canada for sure.
If your into high end designer goods (Louis Vuitton, HOLT, BURBERRY, COACH, MICHEAL KORS, POTTERY BARN etc) and with a mix of inexpensive shops (COSTA BLANCA, GAP, VICTORIA SECRET, CHAMPS, H&M, AMERICAN APPAREL etc).. THIS IS THE PLACE TO VISIT. They certainly have (if not) almost everything you like.
Am only giving this 4 stars because am a little disappointed about the size of their food court which is located at the upper level. Not much selections to choose from and you have no place to sit if you come on a busy weekend. In my opinion that area needs to be maximize for more seating. But if you prefer a non-food court style.. there are some restaurants you can swing by inside the mall. -

As malls go Yorkdale is definitely a mall worth checking out.
The parking lot is mammoth and understandably chaotic no matter what time of day you are there. There is also the commuter parking lot separate from the mall parking lot which I got to know well during my days of commuting from north york to downtown where I attended college. I remember those mornings around 9am when people would be competing for the last couple of parking spots. Ya things would get ugly. I mean come on its 9am cold, you've just sat through crushing traffic only to get onto a crushed full subway train and now some jackass has just taken the last parking spot???? Unbelievable.
Parking lot poiltics set aside the mall is a very good one. You've got your tried and true names and also some new ones to add to the mix. Its all very well laid out and organized. And the furnishings in the food court are really nice, all wrought iron and intricately decorated tiling.
My old north york posse and I used to hang out here all the time back in the day. We saw the characters in 'MallRats' as projections of our own true selves. Really.Listed in: The February Fast

This is the best mall in Ontario in my opinion.
For a while now, at least for the past 15 years prior to Eaton's Centre deciding to get it's act together and renovate, most shoppers (downtown or in the GTA) had headed North to Yorkdale to seek a quality mall shopping experience.
Sure it's ridiculous parking here. But it's a little better they have installed electronic boards letting you know the status of which areas are occupied in real time. There's a multi-level parking expansion happening, due to complete end of 2012. So that may help with congestion.
There's a lot going for this mall. It has wide breadth of quality stores and it has the convenience of TTC/Go Transit accessibility.
All the top brands in the country have a piece of the action here. Look at the current store directory.

You can go broke here in an afternoon easily.
$5K at Holts, $3K at Apple, $5K at Tiffany's, no problem. -

York, ON
A full five stars, but for the ever-shrinking, ever-crazier parking lot.
Toronto has no shortage of shopping malls. Until some giant monstrosity opened in the Tundra that is Edmonton, our Eaton Centre was one of the biggest in the country. It's still big, and undergoing a resurgence, but it's tough to get excited about a mall that's anchored by a mid-priced, mid-road, mid-western retailer like Sears.
There's a Sears at Yorkdale, too, but unless you're caught out looking for cheap homeware or small appliances, it's generally deserted. Better to focus on the high-end stuff.
Yorkdale is like an enclosed version of Bloor Street. Every major brand and it's competitors seems to be represented. From tony leather goods to high-end electronics, it's all there. High-low shoppers can choose between True Religion and Lucky jeans. Patriots can opt for Roots. Purseophiles can debate the merits of Michael Kors and Coach, or just say forget about it and retain a Holt Renfrew personal shopper.
Did you mess up Valentine's day? No problem! Tiffanys, Birks, and Thomas Szabo are excellent vehicles for the sparkly kind of atonement, while a pair of heels from Davids or Browns will fix any broken heart. New stores open constantly, so I can't promise the previous list is current.
Such intense competition brings out the best in even the most stalwart retailer. The Bay is sprucing up it's act; bringing in a popular-priced Topshop boutique and overhauling it's menswear and ladieswear departments. I think they're still a work in progress but appreciate the effort.
Rumors of a revamped foodcourt (long a weakness) and the arrival of a Cheesecake Factory (part of yet another renovation) will only add to the chaos outside. Good thing I take the subway, which conveniently lets out near the mall's Tim Hortons.
Power shopping requires plenty of caffeine. -

Since I live a stones throw from this mall i guess i should review it.
Okay my favorite bits - moxies and silvercity cinema
my worse bits - not enough shops for men, the food court has nowhere to sit like ever! always busy which i guess is a positive for them
Overall i do like this mall I wish they would get rid of the topshop because it sells such crap for men, what happened to the topshop which sold things which were not all skinny/slim fit! -
Review from Faezah W.
I personally love Yorkdale for many reasons except where its located. I think this mall needs to switch with Eatons, it seems like a better fit for that downtown location. Away from that, Yorkdale hours are 10am till 9pm Monday to Saturday and closes at 5 or 6pm Sunday. Lots of shopping and window browsing, yes the windows of each store are massive. There's so many varieties of high end and everything else ( Michael Kors, LV, Holts, MAC, Costa Blanca, GAP, Victoria Secret and LaSenza) Theres also a movie theatre, Cineplex inside near one of the entrances by Rainforest Cafe and Moxies. There's a food court upstairs and several restaurants around the mall as well so your not just left with greasy, limited options. The ceilings inside Yorkdale are so high up, it just looks and feels refreshing. You don't feel crowded and almost no ones B.O can get to you LOL
Also if you ask customer service kiosks, they have in-mall strollers and lockers for you to use and I almost forgot to add, near the subway train entrance, you have dental office, optical store and 2-3 salons, Forlinos is my new salon now, stylist Nadia is amazing with colour and cut. I travel all the way from the end of markham every month to see her. So while parents, friends etc are shopping, you can get your hair done or watch a movie.
P.s they have signs stating that 40 new stores will be opening this year -
Review from Dishan W.
I'm a fan of walking around here although actually buying something in here is not something I would do since a higher percentage of the shops here are a bit out of my price range, but it's a huge mall pretty pleasant to walk around, has a decent food court and your typical "nice" chain restaurants like Moxie's and Milestones. Plus for a lot of us that don't live downtown, Yorkdale's parking lot is a haven for parking for free and then taking the ttc down. Add in it's own GO station and a big multiplex and Yorkdale sure has all it takes to be a very solid mall.

The food court is staffed by completely incompetent people, and is not big enough to fit a large of crowd people I ended up having to eat my KFC outside of Tiffany's only to find out my hot wings were not in the box, I give the food court 2 stars in terms of staff and spaciousness. However the stores are staffed with delightful personnel, who will help with a smile no matter how many times you ask for them to get you a different outfit. Louis Vuitton, Tiffanie's ET AL. Who can complain about options at this mall, 5 star experience. Sadly the malls cramped eating area brings this mall down to a 3.5 star's in my books.

I'm convinced Yorkdale is the best mall in Toronto. I find they have something for everyone, from high end shops(Holt Renfrew, Burberry) to basic affordable shops (H&M, Old Navy) and I'm looking forward to the mall expansion. Plus I love the mall hours, especially later Saturday and Sunday hours. It's awesome how accessible it is from the Subway. Parking, of course, is a bit of a headache. My strategy: follow someone leaving the mall to their car. It works every time for me (okay, most times). Or just prepare yourself to walk quite a bit. A weekday early afternoon is the best time to shop, but even when the mall seems busy on a Saturday, it seems most people are just walking around the mall opposed to shopping. I think the food court could use some improvement but still not a bad selection. Overall, it's my go to mall.

Ample parking (and some secret spots I won't share).
Large brand name stores both luxury, middle range and not so luxury.
Lots of American brands that are testing their waters (j.Crew, VS, A/X , Bath and Body Works, Crate and Barrell, etc)
I love that the food court is upstairs and out of the way. I'm not sure what exactly they are doing on the corner of MAC and Banana Republic, where what used to be People's Jewellers and a maternity store. It says Food Court. I will be sad.
Lots of regular restaurants to choose from, should you want to have a proper meal - Caseys, Moxies, Rainforest Cafe (I'm really surprised it's still here), Pickel Barrel - also out of the way and not in your face.
This huge expansion that's happening, I'm not even sure what exactly they will open there as most of the major names are here already.
but i HATE the washrooms (near Dynamite and Holts). They are possessed and will flush when you sit down, any slight movement as you do your business, and it's a vicious circle. 1) Sit down 2) Flushes 3) get up to not get back splash 4) sit down again 5) flush. etc.
BUT when you're done. IT DOESN"T FLUSH.
The stalls also have this really annoying fat pillar for you to hang your stuff, but it doesn't have a lip, so my stuff kept falling as I was trying to chagne.
Anyway. Shop here. Find somewhere else to pee.1 Previous Review: Show all »

One of my favorite malls. It has pretty much all the stores I shop at and the huge bonus is Holt Renfrew. I love that I don't have to go downtown and pay for parking and fight crazy traffic. Another bonus is that it's pretty much one level except for select businesses and the food court so it is great to bring the stroller without having to fight people with two working legs for space on the elevator.
Great looking mall. I love the natural light. I am craving to go now.... -

I love this mall - it's huge and it reminds me of LA. If you don't like LA, then I don't think this review will have any impact on you.
Sure, it caters to the shishi-froufrou crowd but there's seriously a TON of variety here. Hello, there's a Siren's sandwiched between Burberry and some other high end brand.
And yeah, you'll catch me eye-f&$king other peoples' designer hand bags (my fiance sure did, and started laughing - did I make it so obvious?) but hey, EVERYONE there eyef#$ks everyone else's designer hand bags!
Oh and it's always terrible traffic to get into/out/around this mall (which, bad traffic always puts me into a bad mood) and even inside, you're constantly walking/bumping into other people because it's so packed inside (recession? What recession?) but it's still worth it :). They have Crate & Barrel! -
Review from Janna S.
I've only suffered from headaches about 5 times in my life. 2 of those times I was at Yorkdale. Now, I don't want to make a fuss, but there is something about this place that feels claustrophobic to me.
Maybe it's being surrounded by vast parking lots full of shoppers hell-bent on finding the perfect parking spot (do NOT take for granted that drivers will stop or slow down for pedestrians), or maybe it's just that there really isn't anywhere quiet to go here when the mall is busy.
The food court is deafening at times and people here just seem completely oblivious that standing with a stroller or two in the middle of the mall IMPEDES foot traffic. If you're trying to get to one particular place, this mall serves as the ultimate obstacle course. Trying to cut through an chaotic swarm of gawking shoppers is agonizing...it's nearly impossible to get through here without actually asking people to get out of the way.
The parking situation only exacerbates this problem - i.e. there are precious few easy ways to enter or exit the parking lot, and you'll spend around 10-15 minutes trying to get in and actually park before you enter the mall. Just because the mall is surrounded by numerous high-traffic streets does not mean you can actually access the mall by said streets. Definitely better to take the TTC because you won't be able to quickly pop over here in a car on your lunch hour.
By all accounts, the mall should feel upscale, but it really doesn't. This was made painfully obvious to me last year when I was barred from entering the TTC access because there had been a SHOOTING moments before. This was around 1 pm on a weekday. Classy.
Customer service in many of the stores here is compromised by the high volume of sales. Think hunter gatherer in lieu of full service. On the plus side, you could probably lie down on one of those plush display beds at The Bay for a reasonably restful nap before a sales person actually notices you.
Positive: yes, there are a lot of great stores here. A lot of "firsts" for retail in Canada (e.g. Victoria's Secret)
Get real: you won't be able to leisurely shop in those stores unless you go here on a weekday or prepare yourself for battle with plenty of coffee and a good exit strategy. -
Review from Karl R.
"You can buy an assortment of fruit-flavoured bubble baths at The Body Shop for only $17.65. You can spend $99.99 for a skateboard or $24.99 for an anti-theft device for your skis at Collegiate Sports. At Club Monaco you can buy authentic Club Monaco jeans for a mere $49. And at Classic China you can get a lovely bone china chipmunk for $95. But nowhere in this Mecca of Mass Merchandising can you acquire a book of stories by the great Russian author Anton Chekhov, the greatest writer of stories who ever lived."
-- Crad Kilodney (1988. Nice Stories for Canadians. Toronto: Charnel House.)
Fans of street author Crad Kilodney will always know Yorkdale as Kilodney's nightmare altar to consumerism. What Kilodney finds repellent about Yorkdale I find attractive.
Yorkdale is a decidedly upper class mall. You've got LV, Harry Rosen, Coach, and the rich douchebag's Ikea, otherwise known as Crate & Barrel.
The foodcourt has a Mancu Wok [confirmed]. The foodcourt also has one of the neatest audio illusions. Take a seat at the edge of the domed seating area opposite the cutest possible girl on the other side of the dome. Guess what? You will hear her voice amplified by the dome and make it appear she's right behind you, letting you eavesdrop on her conversation. Hey, remember I"m the guy who crawls malls for thrills. You don't think I have a creepy kink or two?
Parking on the weekends is a nightmare unless you go first thing in the morning. Yorkdale is best appreciated by those who take the subway there. -

This is a beautiful fancy pants mall. The ceilings are high, the floors gleam, and the clients look fancy.
I notice that the sales sections in a lot of the shops are kind of sparse. I have a feeling that the clientele at this mall are probably not that interested in bargain shopping and can afford to buy things at regular price.
That being said, this is a very beautiful mall and I bet it will be beautifully decorated for Christmas and have a fancy pants Santa Clause picture booth. -
Review from Roma M.
I used to like this place a lot better as a child, I prefer Sherway and Fairview over Yorkdale now. The addition of the new wing a few years ago has been a great idea. I like their high ceilings, especially with the christmas music in the holidays, but the truth is, Yorkdale is a zoo.
Good luck trying to ever find parking here in the evenings( I prefer the parkette during the day), and good luck trying to sift through the millions of mallrats around the theater.
The Zara here is worth a look, since it's so big and well-stocked, and I can find pretty good deals at Club Monaco located near Holt Renfrew. So when I do come I pretty much only stay in the new wing.
I've received some quality service from Holt Renfrew, which was a pleasant surprise considering the location. I like the MAC store located in the mall better than the Sephora, as they're more eager to please, provide quality recommendations and don't just upsell.
If you need a snack or coffee, avoid the Michel's Baguette, and head over to the phenomenal Second Cup in the same hall. This Second Cup may seem like any other, but it's not. This location has by far the best service I've ever received in any chain coffee shop.
The food court located above Holt Renfrew isn't worth it. None of the restaurants are anything to rave about, and some of the chains like Jimmy the Greek offer food that is just downright terrible. I'd also avoid the Pickle Barrel near The Bay as well and just find a restaurant after leaving the mall.
If I ever need to come here it's during a weekday morning to early afternoon, or never at all.
I don't look forward to being trampled. -

Yorkdale is the Thirteenth Level of hell.
That's a special layer of hell, designed for those whose cumulative lifetime consumption surpasses their contribution to this planet we call Earth.
If you MUST go, please be aware of some rules.
1) Female? Get that cleavage out! Seriously, you'll be completely out of place if you don't.
2) Male? Puff up your chest and walk with it thrust forward. Be sure to look mean and menacing. Sportswear is especially recommended for men who look like they can't even SPELL elipit, err.. elpit... ellliptici.... err, whatever, those excercise machine things that go round and round. You know.
3) Have a child in a stroller? Hit EVERYONE YOU SEE with said stroller.
Disclaimer: I hate Yorkdale, so I may be biased. -

Yorkdale Shopping Centre is an upscale shopping mall, but alot of those same upscale stores are popping out all over the city. Yorkdale contains over 250 stores I would assume and is located in North York. I like how you don't have to go downtown to go shopping and everything is under one roof. The problem with this mall is alot of teenagers make it there "hangout" and the mall alone is always busy. I try to stay away on weekends and especially Christmas, it becomes a zoo!
Overall it is a great place to shop if you have the time, patience and the money :) -

There is nothing special about Yorkdale anymore. It used to be THE place to go to check out some higher end stores - but those same stores have now opened up locations all over Toronto. The mall itself is fine, except for the terrible layout. This has turned into a big hangout, meaning there are never any free seats in the food court, and there is always some sort of incident involving security and/or the Toronto Police.
I do have to say, security at this mall is great. I had an issue myself, with a guy following me around with a very large knife. Before I knew it, security and the OPP had the guy in custody.
My advice? Don't go there to "hang out". Go if you'd like to check out Holts or some other semi-unique store.
If you dare to approach the food court - they have a Thai place that is great. -

The good:
1) very spacious! Even if it is crowded, there's always so much room to walk around
2) very sunny!
3) stores are high end and really nice
4) the food court has tons of selection including Thai express (they make pad thai right in front of you!)
5) if the food court is not up to par, there are tons of great restaurants that you can go to including Moxies (personal fave!)
The bad:
1) the only one i can really think of is the fact that some of the stores are really pricey -

Ahhhh, Dorkdale. My mum would talk about how she would come here as a kid, eating grilled cheeses at Obie's which doesn't exist anymore. I remember going to eat great pasta dishes (there is no restaurant in this place that can have the same said for it here) at this place called Tony's, where you could smoke. (not that I miss that, but, times have changed.)
Now, if we all accept that malls are ALL ABOUT ILLUSION AND BEING COMMERCIAL, then Dorkdale takes the cake. You have really high end shops like Holt Renfrew, European Jewellery, David's Shoes, coupled with stores that are even more corporate like the Mac Store, The Bay, Williams Sonoma, Tim Horton's, etc. It also has stores that are on a smaller scale in price and popularity like Ardene or Miss Sixty/Energie. Everything though is made to look bigger, bolder, classier and cooler all the time. (Stores are required every few years to renovate and re-invent so to speak).
They have great little kiosks, some that just sell model cars, let's say, or Bella Pierre for cosmetics. But the coolest are the ones that pop up on the weekends - the food stalls, selling cured meats, fresh baked goods, chips, etc.
Dorkdale could definitely use higher quality to food restaurants to go with the shops - restaurants that aren't chain restaurants where the food is pretty mediocre.
Overall, though, for a place for everything, with lots of good quality merchandise and some nice palatial looking space to boot, it's the spot. -

If you're familiar with and liked the Galleria malls in Houston, TX and Ft. Lauderdale, FL or even Bal Harbour in South Beach, FL, then you'll love Yorkdale. It's like you have to dress up in order to shop here in order to get quality service.
Me, I could only afford to go to the Indigo bookstore. There are stores and restaurants that American will recognize like Old Navy, The Gap, and Rainforest.
I wasn't impressed with their food court. With Yorkdale being upscale, the food court was limited and small. Public restrooms were few and far in between. In fact, I only saw one on each side of the mall. Directories were also few and far in between.
Like Union Station and Pentagon City Mall in DC, Yorkdale also has a subway stop.
Other than that, beautiful mall. You just gotta have money if you wanna shop here.Listed in: Oh Canada!

If shopping is your religion and your credit card statements could form a bible, you should probably stay away from Yorkdale. But you won't. No one should. I never will.
Yorkdale was my high school mall, the mall where everyone used to hang out after school and probably shoplift (not me -- I had to work in the stores they stole from). I never participated in mall overload, which is probably why I love it so much now. And Yorkdale has become a mecca of shopping because of how closely it now resembles the true mecca of shopping -- the United States of America.
It's getting closer and closer to looking like Walden Galleria (if you grew up in Toronto and are female, you understand the significance of this). It now boasts the presence of Bath & Body Works (FINALLY!), Crate & Barrel, Home Outfitters, Miss Sixty, Lululemon, Louis Vuitton, Coach, a huge BCBG, a giant H&M...basically heaven in mall form. As always, they have Holt Renfrew, Williams & Sonoma, the biggest Aritzia in Toronto and a slew of other stores that will make your shopping experience the best one under one roof.
When you get hungry, Yorkdale has a decent selection of mall restaurants that most people enjoy -- Milestone's, The Pickle Barrel, etc. I'm not a huge fan of any of them and I'd rather grab some sushi at the movie theatre end of the mall to optimize my shopping time.
It's great for people who drive and those who don't -- it's right off the highway and has tons of covered and open parking (and valet if you want to throw your money around), and it's also right at the Yorkdale TTC/Go Station (duh). So if you live downtown and feel the need for a suburban mall experience, Yorkdale is your best bet.
I do love the stores in this mall, but as for the people, it's location close to lots of high schools means there is a strange mix of rowdy teenage hooligans among the trophy wives from the Bridle Path heading for Holt's. Weird, but totally worth seeing. -

i hate this mall, i really do. but how often i've spent time here is sickening. mostly because my sister used to work here, but mostly because i'm a glutton for punishment.
parking is always the worst, at christmas time, expect to get into fist fights with someone over a spot. i almost got into one this past holiday season when an old man who was waiting for a specific spot swooped in and stole mine 30 seconds before his became free. i chased him into the mall and my mom had to talk me down before i jumped him.
i have a tad bit of an anger problem, but can you blame me?! it's the holiday season! we are supposed to be friendly and oh here have this! but instead we are all greedy little pains in the butts who only care for ourselves.
don't use this mall at christmas. that's my quick tip.
otherwise, i guess this mall is okay. it has a good selection of stores and i usually always find what i'm looking for. even if i don't, i usually find something else. i'm not a fan of the layout, if i'm walking alone i usually end up lost.
here's another quick tip; ask directions. -

Yorkdale Shopping Centre is the best mall in Toronto.
It has the most free parking (eventho it's hard to park on a nice weekend sometimes). The store selection is great from very thifty to most expensive stores.
It is the first place to have a Bath & Body Works in Toronto.
I have never had a bad experience at this shopping mall and whenever friends come visit from out of town, I take them here for shopping and not the silly Eaton's Centre.
The movie theatre here is also good and not usually too busy.
The restaurant selection is ok too with places like Rainforest Cafe you can't go wrong for some novelty action.
My favorite stores here are RW&Co (much larger than anywhere else) and Home Outfitters (the second floor). The also have a Marciano Outlet with crazy deals.Listed in: Born to Shop

Long, long ago, I used to come to Yorkdale, when I lived off Avenue Road and could count my age in single digits. I've been back a couple of times recently, and hardly recognize the place. And it's not just because the Simpsons is gone (remember Simpsons, anyone? Anyone?).
Yorkdale now looks like it's on steroids. All the stores have been overhauled into big, two-storey monstrosities, and have spilled out onto the façade in accordance with the current trend of mall design. The interior is very big, but lacks any cohesive plan; all the box stores just jut out willy-nilly. I don't think it's a good mall for strolling around. -

My favorite MALL of all time.. this place is going to blow your mind off. BEST SHOPPING MALL.. trust me I am a shopaholic and been to many MALLS. this place have great stores. not so much of high end stuff but.. reasonable/affordable day to day stuff.
Mall is huge, you probably can spend an entire day here if you are truly shopping store by store.
one of my MUST STOP everytime I come to Toronto. -

I once had a job where i spent a week inside this mall, mapping and asking questions to each store. What I learned from that week is that it is very important to go to Yorkdale during the day. It is tranquil and empty, you can browse without being jostled by SUV strollers and bumped by fancy ladies with their large designer bags. I recently was at Yorkdale on a Saturday and felt the entire megacity of Toronto was also there. The selection of stores is comparable to none, from Old Navy to Michael Kors, and one of the only Victoria's Secret in the GTA. The mall is worth visiting. During the day. Only.

I probably have been here for three Boxing Days (the Day after Christmas). Mad sales and bargain shoppings!
I thought Americas were bad with " Day After Christmas " shopping. Canadians are just as ruthless - speed walking into the mall, people grabbing clothes of the rack (while leaving the hanger behind), shoppers opening boxes and not putting the contents back.... Etc...etc...etc.. And the locals here had the greatest advantage over me - they know where all the shops are at. Being a tourist, I found myself searching the mall directory to find my favorite stores - Banana Republic, HMV (this is Canada's version of Virgin Music Store), Roots, and Second Cup (the Seattle's Best of Canada). I have to admit that I make it a point to shop at the Hallmark store here. Hallmark Canada has the most elegant Christmas Cards ever! And for $5.99 for a box at 24 cards, this was a bargain (regular retail $24.99). I know it's the day after Christmas, but when the next Christmas rolled in, I was always received great compliments on my cards. So this was one of best kept secrets that I've just shared! Too bad, I won't be coming here anymore. Thanks for the memories Yorkdale.Listed in: Toronto - Canada's Hollywood

I went to Yorkdale for the first time and it was quite an experience there. The outside parking is pretty full on a Thursday and I had to stalk a girl walking towards her car for a spot. There's a variety of stores but on average, it's a little on the higher end compared to Scarborough Town Centre. They could use a little more restaurants than what they have currently. I'm really not a big fan of their food court. The information desks around the mall are pretty helpful too.

In terms of fast food what more could you ask for. On top of this being Thai food and delicious and fast the Yorkdale location definitely has the best cook of all the Thai Express locations.

I love Yorkdale!!!! They have terrific stores. Some of my favourites are pottery barn, crate and barrel and who can forget PJ's pet centre. Rainforest cafe is also fun. I always spend time there when travelling to Toronto. Its a really busy mall with a lot to offer. Happy Shopping!

Typical mall stores but a nice variety of mix - not all is high-end. What I like about this place is that it's design and lighting are very appealing and a bit different from most outdoor malls. Also, in can be accessed almost directly from rapid transit, making it green-friendly.
