Clean and adorable, Yogurt Spoon offers many flavour varieties and neatly separated toppings that will make you an addict!

During our lunch time walk, we popped in for a refreshing treat. I blended the strawberry and mango flavours, topping it with strawberries, pineapple and skor bits.

My friend mentioned the raspberry didn't quite taste as she expected but we were still both satisfied.

Total came under $4 and we felt stuffed.

Make sure you stop in, it's a delightful treat on a hot day!

So they've added a tasty green tea flavour [this plus their taro and raspberry are perhaps my favourite flavours in downtown]... However, they've also raised prices from 45c/oz to 55c/oz, which I know isn't the end of the world [it's actually standard compared to all other places], but that was Yogurt Spoon's selling point for me. And really, the lack of a [heated!] patio and awesome bar/comfy chair seating puts Yoyo's back on top for me.

3.5 stars - averaging this review and my last one.

Another Froyo Place in the downtown core! Wonder when we will see an end to the huge boom of frozen goodness shops.

    The Product.
I find that the quality of the Froyo is decent, but fails to stand out in this rapidly growing area of pigging out. the options are run of the mill so nothing is missing in terms of the major flavours (not sure how the rotation will work).
Toppings are the standard fair with the fruits, nuts, and sweets all accounted for.

    The Service.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating, nothing lacking in this department!

Might come here again, might not depends on how well the loyalty programs at Yoyo's and Menchie's work out.

Pay by weight -  keep your head (Read: NOT STOMACH) in the game! =D

Nice and clean! It was my first time visit this place. The staff showed me how their self-serve service style work, and offered me some free frozen yogurt samples. First you choose the cup size, choose your froyo and then create your own froyo with about 33 kinds of toppings from dry snacks to fresh fruits. Finally, personalize your froyo with their 4-6 type of drizzles.
*Note: you're paying by the weight of your froyo...so it can be expensive

When Juicy Babes went out of business, my whole world shattered. I love my froyo with mochi and popping bubbles. Not many froyo places have them. Then I discovered Yogurt Spoon, which is conveniently located just north of Yonge-Wellesley. Like Renee M. said, the people who work here are friendly. They greet everybody who comes in and thank everybody who leaves (at least from what I've experienced so far). The place is clean, bright, and quite spacious. The toppings are neatly organized and visually appealing. IMO, Yogurt Spoon is much better than Menchies, though price-wise, they're about the same.

As long as they stay in business, I'll be their loyal customer :)

Delicious...exactly what we were looking for on our weekend getaway to Toronto...mostly thanks to the Yelp community! The cheesecake was awesome and the mango/raspberry twist was better!

Yogurt Spoon is a gem among froyo establishments in Toronto.

The restaurant has a strange layout: the dispensers are in the back and the topping buffet near the side leaving a huge area of chairs near the front, I'd think they'd be better off having an extra set of toppings with the amount of unused space. This would definitely set them apart from their froyo peers.

The staff was pretty friendly. I noticed that there were no sampling containers. While some froyo digs offer the teeny cups, they don't have any spoons.

There were about 8 flavours of yogurt, and the Salted Caramel was strangely sweet. I went with  Original which was it was very smooth, though I prefer Menchie's just for the taste.

I loved that YS has mochi, -little delicious sticky rice cake cubes. I also picked almond slivers, blueberry, mango, strawberry and cheesecake.

+1 for the Mochi and Peanut butter chips.

The prices were also great, my medium sized bowl was much cheaper than the average at $.49 per ounce.

My favorite frozen yogurt place in Toronto. Most of their flavors are good, the artificial flavorings are not over powering so you can still taste the yogurt. The only downside is prob the fruit freshness, sometimes they are too dry and you can tell they've been seating there for a while~

This place is seriously awesome for a couple reasons.

1.) The people that work here are not assholes. Which is HUGE because it is Yonge street.
2.) They have dairy free options & delicious creamy options (yogurt should be enjoyed by all!).
3.) They have a rewards card that gets you half off once you fill it up. So you can literally get a shit ton of yogurt and it will be half the price with tons of delicious toppings.

I consulted Yelp before going here and I noticed people don't really talk about the toppings in detail so I will for the next person on the fence with this place...

Fruit: mango, kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple (i think), melons, raspberries (probably). notice that i pay little attention to the healthy options

Candy!: Skor bits, ice caps, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, reeses stuff, M&M's, all the usual too many to list here

Other: cookie dough balls, brownie balls, coconut flakes, graham cracker, oreo stuff, animal crackers, MOCHI (holy crap)

Weird Stuff: Capn Crunch, these exploding balls of fruit with lychee, passion fruit and some other flavor, also delicious, granola (FOR HEALTHY PEOPLE)

***These are not all the toppings, just all of the ones my grubby little brain can think of right now.

The place is super cute too. Did I mention the people are not assholes but super nice and always give me a new card because i lose each rewards card they give me?

All these frozen yogurt places are so damn good, while Yogurt Spoon is not my favourite it has a great location, affordable delicious treats and very exciting flavours with peach/mango and original being my top choices. And when you walk in you feel like you're in a cartoon with all those bright colours.

The toppings available are nice and varied, was very happy to see Capt'n Crunch there. I did end up with a bit more than I wanted but I was curious to try out their "Nutter Butter" flavour as well and realised I could have just done without it as I was in no mood for sweet flavours.

Their logo and interior are very catchy from outside and the next time you walk by and give in to the temptations always know that I will be in support of your decision to walk in!

Yogurt Spoon is great. It's a full 30 minute walk from my house and I have been known to trek out there when I'm in the mood for yogurt. I do this despite the fact that I can check into Menchies, Cefiore, Mon Berri AND YoYo's from my house. It's that good.

I would say the yogurt here is more like Menchies in that it's more sugary than creamy. They do have a few unique flavours though, that I haven't seen elsewhere (pink grapefruit!). Their toppings bar is basically what would happen if YoYo's and Menchies' respective toppings bars got together and had a baby bar. It's got a great mix of fresh fruit, cereals and candies. No stone is left unturned but they don't over-do the health side (like YoYo's tends to) and it's not a complete sweet shop (like Menchies).

This is self-serve too and, if I remember correctly, slightly cheaper than the other two places (I think Menchies is 49c per oz and in the middle of the three pricewise).

The staff are also insanely nice here. On more than two occasions I've shown up at 10:55, five minutes before closing, and they've not batted an eye. No, "We're closing in five minutes so be fast!" or locking the door behind me. A few times I've actually ended up eating in because by the time I was done creating my order, the door has still been open and customers still walking in (at 11:05) to get froyo. One night we stayed until EVERYONE had left and didn't leave until just after midnight. It seems they really won't close as long as there's people with a hankering for froyo. That's what makes this place a four star store!!

    Definitely a must try.

Went here today while running some errands up Yonge after reading about it on blogto. Only other froyo I've been to in the gta area is Menchies, but I think this one was much better imo!

I tried the pink grapefruit, salted caramel and raspberry. My fav was pink grapefruit and def going back for that one. The salted carmel was unusally runny (maybe the batch just wasn't ready) and I found it too sweet for my liking. Raspberry was also nice, wasn't sorbet like but milk based with a hint of raspberry.

The topping selection is also quite good. The fruit all looked fresh. I picked my fav. mochi (mmm), popping strawberry bobba, yogurt chips and crushed waffle cone (not at other places I've seen).

Came to around $5 which was reasonable for the amount you get. The staff working there was also friendly, greeted me as soon as I walked in and cashed out.

After having a dinner at spring rolls on yonge & bloor, we headed to yogurt spoon depsite the cold weather because of sudden craving for nice yogurt. I first tried this place last winter, and it still is the same.

Great yogurt flavours (i love original and lychee), and lots of great toppings (except cookie dough, which was disgusting). I love yogurt chips, lots of fruits, and mocchi(?) in my yogurt cup.

I love this place because it's a great place to chill. I was catching up with my friend over a cup of yogurt for over an hour, the staff was very friendly and made us really comfortable staying. I think I will head over there again today. Another sudden craving after writing about it!

Yogurt Spoon has this super friendly staff!! I was greeted with cheers when I walked in this almost empty place on a Sunday evening...

Eager staff asking if I am a first timer..hmm as I looked confused and lost as usual...Then I said oh Self Serve?? so he knew I know what I am getting into..

10 fro yo choices on any given day.. yes choices makes my head spin... and yes selling by weight makes sure I don't get carried away!

Ended up I just mixed 3 different flavours of fro yo san toppings.. I am not into toppings.. but Yogurt Sppon offered here were extensive..

Enjoying my fro yo people watching through the floor to ceiling window overlooking Yonge Street was enjoyable. The fro yo itself was as enjoyable...

A very yummy place to hit on a somewhat sunny afternoon!

I have never been a yogurt place like this before mainly because my dairy allergy keeps me from partaking in the frozen cream/milk desserts, but I was pleasently suprised to learn that YS offers a few non-dairy yogurt options.  I ended up going with the pink grapefruit which was magnificent.

I felt a bit foolish at first as I couldn't figure out exactly how to work the yogurt dispenser thingy, I kept pulling and nothing was coming out and I was watching everyone else around me pour our thier own yogurt like it was the easiest thing ever.  Then I noticed that there was a light indicating that this particular yogurt dispenser was empty.  Silly me!!

The topping selection is great, you can go sugary with M&M's and gummy bears or you can go healthier with peaches and melons.   I opted for the fruit toppings and it all came together as a yummerific medly of fruity goodness.

The staff members were very sweet and smiley, said hello, goodbye and thank you.  Friendly staff always leave a great impression!

I just noticed I'm the 3rd Chris to have reviewed this place, it seems us Chris folks like us our frozen yogurt!

For the 3pm break, we could have gone for a coffee but on a hot day, we decided to walk down for some frozen yogurt.

We were greeted with a friendly hello and a quick explanation of how the place works.

I decided to sample 3 different flavors - mango, coconut and pinepple.  Added fresh mango, pineapple and toasted coconut on top.  Container weighed in at $3.71.

Mango yogurt was sweet and a bit tart.  Pineapple and coconut flavors were a bit faint but maybe because they were overshadowed by the mango.

A refreshing afternoon break from the hum-drum of office.

I have visited Yogurt Spoon a few times over the summer and must say I'm impressed. It's surprising how there's only a few of these self-serve frozen yogurt chains in Toronto, because it would be very packed in the summer days. Overall, the flavours actually has yogurt tasting in them and the toppings aren't so bad either. The workers are very strict on samples - you would have to ask them for a sample cup and they would have to do it for you...unlike all the other froyo places I've been to. The area is really clean and the sitting area is quite nice. It's much smaller compared to Meniches, but people usually just come in and out, not really wanting a seat anyways.

    Mmm, good to try!

Yogurt Spoon is a great place to stop, relax, and enjoy some awesome tasting yogurt.

Both times I have been to Yogurt Spoon the staff has been very friendly. They are always attentive, and since they are new, and you will probably be as well, they make sure you understand the self serving process.

I would recommend the chocolate. It is full of flavor. I get chocolate chips, coconut, and marshmallows. Delciousooo!

Prices are reasonable. A good place to look at girls, and mental patients on Yonge St. walking by.

Yum yum Yogurt Spoon! I have been craving self-serve yogurt like the kind in my previous cities of residence back in the States, and not only has one popped up here in Toronto, it's close to my place.

The flavors are quite delicious and Yogurt Spoon offers plenty of variety flavor-wise, but I have a standby: original-flavor yogurt with Cap'n Crunch cereal. YUM. The cereal is always crunchy and fresh. I wish there were more topping choices (What I wouldn't give to have Fruity Pebbles for my original-flavor yogurt!), but I'm a little greedy that way. ;)

The store itself is bright and tidy, and the people that work there are always nice. You can bet I'll be here a ton this summer!

Yes! A place finally doing froyo the right way in Toronto.

As I've mentioned before in my Juicy Babes review there needs to be a self-serve place that has CHOICE! I wanted a Yogurt Land or Yogurt World kind of place in Toronto. Well, last Saturday it finally arrived, and mere blocks from my house.

As with most new frozen yogurt places this one also has a bright, clean, and modern look. The colour they brand themselves with is orange, a fresh change from the many places that are choosing various shades of red and pink.

They have 10 choices of fat free delicious for you to choose from. Today's options were original, chocolate, peach, pineapple, mango, watermelon, raspberry, and more. The toppings are vast. There are 21 "dry" options which include various breakfast cereals, gummies, candy bars, and cookies. The fruit toppings come in 12 options. The fruits are pretty straight forward but the hidden gems are the little juice balls. They kind of look like tapioca balls but they are filled with fruit juice. A must try for sure!

The way this place works is you fill your cup with as much or little yogurt as you want, pile on the toppings, and then pay by weight. It's 45 cents per ounce, which compared to 33 cents per ounce of it's California brethren makes it a little pricey but not completely outrageous. For two moderately filled cups, it cost me $9.98 including tax.

There were three staff working tonight when I visited. All were friendly. One of the girls was out from behind the counter explaining how the process works to some customers who had never been to a froyo place like this before.

For only being open for a week I was surprised to find about six people ahead of me in line and the staff to be so well prepared and have their process down pat to get the customers through quickly. Great job all around!

I just wish this place had a patio. I know I'm going to be here often and I would love to be able to chill out on a warm summer's night.

P.S. This review is my 300th FTR. Whoop Whoop!!

It's nice to have a froyo place nearby, rather than having to head to the Annex for my fix.

After passing by the place several times during its construction, I was surprised to see it finally opened. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up after grabbing a late dinner.

It was around 10PM when we got there and it was already packed. We were greeted upon walking in, and the employees did their usual round of inquiring whether we've been there before and gave us a little tour of the place. They've only got 10 flavours, which at the time were original, chocolate, raspberry, coconut, pineapple, green apple, peach, mango, pink grapefruit, and watermelon. As for the toppings, there are about 30 options to choose from, and a nice selection of fruits, including three different types of "popping balls!"

The process is pretty straightforward, as it is self-serve and at 45 cents per ounce. There are plenty of employees working (five employees at the time), and service is prompt and pleasant. The only downside is that it is such a small location, with only seating for 12 customers. I think they could definitely add seating by the windows, as there is a ledge for standing or perhaps high chairs. The tables are a bit close together, so the window area wasn't even an option for us, so we enjoyed our concoctions while walking along Yonge.

I'm definitely gonna be back. What this place has going for them is their convenient location for me, and it's better selection in fruit flavours and fruit toppings.

Nice selection of frozen yogurt although I wasn't blown away by the taste. I got chocolate and salted caramel and both tasted almost watery. They had some cool flavours too - cheesecake, pink grapefruit, etc. I like the toppings bar best, it offered a wide selection of fresh looking fruit, tasty candies, traditional toppings and more adventurous ones (Captain Crunch anyone?). The strawberry sauce was delicious.

The staff were friendly and polite and it was less expensive than I would have thought. The place was deserted when we arrived so we had our pick of seats. Nice design and layout, I loved the glass wall. The whole place was extremely well lit - almost too much so. It felt a bit like a hospital with all the bright lights and white paint/tables/chairs.

Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Frozen yogurt places seem to have invaded Toronto in great numbers, and Yogurt Spoon happens to be right near me so I thought I'd check it out. Turns out that this is a great place for a refreshing treat. They work on a pay-by-weight self serve system, allowing you to choose and mix any of the available flavours (of which there are ten to choose from, and you can really come up with some cool combinations!) and toppings (including chocolate, fresh fruit, candy, cereals, "popping balls," even mochi balls...) until you're satisfied at a rate of 45 cents per ounce. You don't have to spend a lot to get a decent-sized bowl. The yogurt is not too sweet, and the flavours are really natural-tasting.

Just as a tip to those who have dairy restrictions: there are two available dairy-free selections, which are just as tasty as the traditional yogurt and seem to gravitate toward vivid fruit flavours.

The staff are friendly and eager to explain the process to new customers, and the digs are bright, modern and inviting (a strong contrast to many of the shuttered or dingier places on the Yonge strip.) I walk by it all the time and it always seems to be drawing a crowd. They have also introduced a stamp card program for frequent buyers.

I haven't really been to any other serve yourself yogurt places, but I don't really need to after visiting here. They have a delicious selection of yogurts to choose from. The chocolate actually tastes rich and very chocolatty. The toppings are fresh as can be and there's a fun mix of fruit, cereral (Reese's!) and candy.

The staff there are friendly and helpful, if you need help.

Price is fine - it's about 5 bucks for a whole container of yogurt and some good toppings. Be careful not to fill your cup though, you need room for candy and treats!

When my roommate said he didn't enjoy this, I thought to myself "Ooh, I gotta check it out" ;-)

And as I suspected, I was amazed by how great this frozen yogurt is! So great that I am awfully reminded of a particular Seinfeld episode. I am eagerly awaiting the nutritional values (and hopefully information on the ingredients) on their upcoming website...

The probably most important aspect with this frozen yogurt to me is that I have never eaten one this creamy. Usually, it is either rather hard overall or at least you have plenty of ice crystals in there. No such issues here.

Topping selection is great, the recommendation by Chris P. about the juice balls was spot-on, they truly are amazing. I especially loved the combo of chocolate yogurt with orange juice balls.
Mochi is also a very welcome topping for me, now they would only need to offer red bean paste as well for the ultimate east-asian frozen yogurt creation :)

A combination of minor issues keeps me from giving it a perfect rating:

-) Slightly pricey - if they would use all organic ingredients, I would say it's justified but I doubt that that's the case. Don't know how else to compare amount/price, so I'll take a regular McFlurry (formerly small) as a reference: about half that amount of "cold mass" will run you about $6,00.

-) Their discount coupons (the fifth frozen yogurt for min. $3 -50%, the tenth is free) don't last long enough (current one until the end of June). If you would have half a year or even better a year to collect those stamps, it would not only have the chance to bind customers long-term, it would also offset the slight priceyness I mentioned in the previous point a bit.

-) Website not up yet. (As a health-conscious person, that is quite a big aspect for me. / Still not up two weeks later... I'm getting impatient...)

Yes! I wouldn't bother writing up a review with a perfect score unless I loved it. Been to every single shop on downtown Yonge and Bay and Bloor, but this one is my favourite healthier (well, less guiltier) choice to indulge. Different flavors, DIY style frozen yogurt machines with delicious toppings. I bought a large cup full and it only came out to 7$, which is nothing compared to Coldstone's price with an average creation cup whopping at around 8$-9$. Ingredients are much health conscious, very clean, sanitary, the atmosphere is not as lively as an ice cream shop, just plain walls and tables by a bright open window on those sunny days..  but hey, it has everything  else I love including Fat Free options!
