I LOVE Yogen Fruz! I usually try to avoid malls, but in this case I'm always trying to think of things that I need from Oakridge so I have an excuse to go to Yogen Fruz. It's a bit pricey, but so worth it. Absolutely delicious frozen yogurt with a variety of different fruit or candy/cookie toppings - something for everyone.

Compared to the ones in San Fran, i've been spoiled. It's a lot more fun adding as much toppings as you want, and creating your own, than to have to pay extra and it just isn't enough.
Went for the healthy one, w/ mixed berries which was fresh. the next time i want more of the 'better' stuff, like the crushed oreo's and skor, i'm better off making it at home ;)
Nevertheless, it's close to my home so I still come enough. -

Frozen yogurt is almost like a guilt-free version of ice cream! I'm sad because it seems like Yogen Früz shops are closing left and right, they used to be in Landsdowne and Richmond Center in Richmond but they are now long gone. However, if you're ever near Oakridge, Metrotown, or Pacific Center make sure to try this treat out.
Unlike other frozen yogurt places like Qoola, Yogen Früz lets you blend the fruit you want INTO the yogurt! The yogurt used is the perfect thickness in consistency. I enjoy mixing combinations like: blueberry and banana or strawberry and banana or just plain raspberry!
Depending on the size and amount of fruit you put in, the price averages from ~$3-6. -

I guess they shut down the one @ P.C. aka Pacific Center Mall where I used to visit and order their strawberry, raspberry or blueberry frozen yogurt :(
That was my favorite joint after shopping!! -

I've been talking to my friend about the fantastic milkshakes we had at BLT, Vegas and I've been waiting to get one. Today, I went to Oakridge mall and decided to have one for lunch.
There was no line and 2 ladies were chatting in Chinese behind the counter. An older lady came to help me. "Yes, we have milkshakes...What do you want? Chocolate, vanilla?"
I asked a chocolate mint. She poured milk into a blender and it kind of looked grey and watery. She added 2 scoops of chocolate mint and blended the ingredients. It wasn't thick or creamy at all. I commented it looked watery after I gave it a swirl in the cup. She poured it back into the blender and added another scoop. At least she was trying. Still it didn't look good and I didn't want to pay $5 for something I knew would be disappointing.
For her effort, I gave her 2 loonies and got myself a $2.99 A & W Rootbeer float. How hard is it to make a thick milkshake? Oh DQ, where are you when I need you?
