Love it here. The space is HUGE and I love the clean lines. Very mod chic. Once you step inside, it just feels very welcoming and bright. Must be the amazing high windows at the back and natural light. The staff were helpful and even showed me where everything was.
The self combo locks work very much like the ones from the other YT locations & situated on the other side of reception. How brilliant! Now there's less traffic in the bathrooms.
The huge lounge area is lovely and where you can read mags, catch up w/ your yogi friends and enjoy your cup of YT organic tea.
The two large practice rooms are even larger than the rooms at the Richmond Hill location. I have only been here once and it for an Ashtanga class (non heated). There were at least 20 students in the room but there was still lots of mat distance between all of us. Love it.
Perfection here... except Timmy's is next door and I have no self control. Looking forward to attending more classes here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 164673359427Aug 30, 2013First to Review
Newest Yoga Tree location!
Spacious and Sparkling new!
2 huge practice rooms: hot and non heated. So if you do prefer having that option, you would be quite happy with the varieties of the classes.
Lockers with self selected combinations no longer located inside the change rooms, but in a good way as at least the woman change room is much much more spacious!
There is also a lounge in the front where you can chill before or after classes with a cup of hot tea!
Free class for everyone the first week during grand opening, good way to try out the studio without any commitment!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sarah K.Toronto, ON506659Mar 10, 2017Updated review
Updated Review:
I received the double-charged payment back! Debbie (co-founder of Yoga Tree) contacted me personally to make sure the payment issue was resolved. She also extended my membership to compensate the stress I had to deal with them previously.
I hope to see Yoga Tree to continue their success and alway put their students/customers first.
Thanks Debbie for being so patient and understanding! I will make sure to come back in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 7, 2017Previous reviewI have been a fan of Yoga Tree since 2010. Don't get me wrong, I still love their spacious and clean studio at the Vaughan Location. Yoga Tree teachers are super awesome and really friendly (shout out to Eric, Michelle, Rana, Shirley etc.)
However, I really need to talk about this particular incident I recently had with the Vaughan location from a normal customer point of view:
I came into the store in hopes of getting myself back to yoga so I decided to inquire about the 30 day challenge at Yoga Tree. Excited and happy that I made the decision and one of their staff was unable to sign me up straight away because I have my 20 class pass purchased in my account. So she suggested me to purchase the monthly unlimited pass in order to economically participate in the 30 day challenge program. I quickly accepted and the staff asked me to come in on Jan 24 and speak with someone else who can sign me up for the monthly pass. I was totally cool with that.
On Jan 24, another friendly staff quickly processed my payment through a debit/credit machine along with the consent form I signed. Two days later, I realized my credit card was charged twice (confirmed with the bank), one at 7pm at the store, the other at 4am the next morning. On top of that, my first two 30 day challenge classes were taken off from my 20 class pass, but not from my already-paid monthly pass. I came in, spoke with the 3rd staff at Vaughan Yoga Tree and she told me she cannot see the 2nd transaction in her system and bluntly asked me to confirm with the bank again when my phone statement was clearly showing the double charge. I was thinking okay maybe I should speak with the bank again (still keeping it cool and nice). I called the store the next day after confirming with TD the second time, spoke with another person AGAIN explaining the situation over and she finally suggested to escalate the issue to the Store Manager.
After showing the Store Manager my bank statements, I was told I cannot get my refund back because she has (illegally) used this unauthorized payment as my 2nd monthly payment (without my consent). I was like, sorry I would like to have my money back to my card and your store can legitimately charge the second month payment at another time rightfully and correctly (because that's just NOT RIGHT). She nonchalantly replied to me that the system would not let her to perform the refund. (what?) I then explained to her that this is not a $5 dollar transaction and 112$ can be a huge amount for a lot of people. I got a BS response and she continued to brush me off saying how she's going to talk to the "support" team.
**On top of that, my classes were continuously being taken off from my 20 class pass. Can you imagine the amount of stress I had to go through the past 2 weeks?**
After telling the store manager that if this doesn't get resolved soon, I'd contact the store owner. She replied back and said, I'll be at the store tomorrow and I'll refund you the money through the machine. Seriously? This could have been done the VERY FIRST TIME I asked for a refund! What a waste of my time!
I emailed the store owner anyway, thinking that he/she would at least be a bit more apologetic with the crap and ridiculousness I've been through. Or at least try to improve the business process by providing some friendly and positive feedback. But No....So the email sounded super non-climatic and he basically said well you are get your refund anyway if you would like to cancel your membership with us, just a friendly reminder you have to let us know 14 days in advance. aka, thank you, we don't need your business, my new system is awesome and my super unfriendly staff is awesome too. How crazy is this?
I feel so unjustified... I'm not the type that'd normally complain about some place's customer service... I went above and beyond to write this review because I'm really scared and helpless right now for the type of bullsh!t I just went through with this Yoga Studio.
After almost 2 weeks of frustration with the store, I am truly exhausted and want nothing more than to run away from Yoga Tree. I really hope the store can improve on their customer service so I can start judging Yoga Tree for the quality of yoga not its incapability of processing transactions nor training its volunteers/staff.
I am now afraid to step into the store knowing that these people just want your money and not care about their customer's overall experience at all.
I still have 2 weeks left with my monthly pass (if I cancel my membership)... and 14 classes left on my class pass. Now I have to drag myself back to the studio with all these negative thoughts in me. FML.

I am a beginner at this. I am not flexible nor am I young and athletic but I attempted to try at another yoga studio closer to my home before funding Yoga Tree. That experience at the other studio, left me literally in tears. Other studios I've been to weren't concerned with whether I was able to get into the pose, they seemed more intent on showing that their instructors were able hold the pose. Instead of giving up I tried Yoga Tree, and right away the instructor showed me how to modify the movement so that my body could benefit from the pose. The instructor was so kind, so helpful. She explained that it's about the breath, and the body will follow when ready. The studio is light and friendly and non judgemental. I'm so delighted I found yoga tree. It's been such a great experience!

My experience with Yogatree was not the greatest. I had purchased a year package at the beginning of the year. The month after I had purchased the package, I broke two ribs while snowboarding. I received a doctors note for work and for other activities while at the hospital to be able to rest for four weeks. I brought the doctors note to Yogatree in an attempt to put my membership on hold for a month. I was not asking for my money back, all I did was ask for them to freeze my account. The receptionist was extremely rude and told me it was not possibility and that I could still try to attend a few classes... With two broken ribs.. Was she insane? I ended up asking for the manager who allowed me a two week freeze on the account.. Such a money grab and such horrible customer service. Will never renew my membership.

Hi Erica,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are disappointed to hear you had a less than satisfactory experience at Yoga Tree Vaughan. It is our studio-wide policy to allow open-end holds for clients who provide medical documentation. I am sorry for the service you received. Please reach out to me directly so that we can make it up to you!

My favourite yoga studio location especially after they completed their renovations. Ample of space inside and out, from parking, to change room, to each practice room! The studio is extremely clean as well and the staff there are very friendly. The instructors there take time to correct your alignment in every pose. As mentioned before, because the practices rooms are so spacious, you never run into the problem of being to close to another student. A problem I often run into in a number of yoga studios across the GTA including the YT Richmond Hill location.
This location offers a number of heated and non heated classes. I personally really enjoy taking the Saturday noon Ashtanga class as it is fun and challenging.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Leah V.Richmond Hill, ON457512Aug 9, 2016
I absolutely love this Yoga Tree location! I live less than 5 minutes away to the Richmond Hill location, but I honestly prefer the Vaughan location so much more! The studios are very spacious, so you don't have to worry about touching the person next to you, unlike in Richmond Hill. Also, I feel that the receptionist staff here and much nicer, as well. Being a spa receptionist myself, I know how customer service works, and I'm always greeted so nicely at the Vaughan location. They were also able to answer all my questions regarding memberships and the different classes, as this was my first time trying yoga. Thank you Yoga Tree Vaughan for helping me become a better me and helping me start my new journey as a Yogi! :)

It is our mission to make each and every guest feel welcome and I am truly sorry to hear that we fell short of our goal during your visit to the Richmond Hill location. Please message me directly if you would like to discuss in further detail.

Yoga Tree - FINALLY! I have tried many studios over the years, but none measured up. A friend recommended yoga tree. I tried several classes with various instructors. They were all excellent. The studios and change rooms are so clean, light and meticulously kept. The support staff is friendly and always ready to help. If you are looking for a professional studio look no further. Yoga Tree is the perfect oasis to escape to during a busy day. Your body will thank you.

Used to love this studio and went there for several years. Unfortunately, during the last year all the good teachers have left, the schedule keeps changing without notice, and the attitude of the management has become uncaring to say the least. Numerous students are trying to leave; however, the management refuses to reimburse students for the classes that they are currently unable to attend (as both the teachers and the classes changed). Stay away or you will regret it!!! Shame on you, Yoga Tree!

I'm still trying it out to be honest, but I'm not too sure I am a huge fan. I find that the beginner classes are too easy, but the level 2 classes I really struggle in... I haven't found a balanced class that's right for me yet, and I don't know if it exists.I was an avid Moksha Yoga goer and love the standard moksha series, so the level 2 classes for me are intense for my cursed, spindly arms and weak wrists, but I still wouldn't consider myself a beginner, so I don't know if there's a class that exists that might be a good match.
I also find it's a bit more gym-ish than studio-ish.... people tend to talk aloud in the yoga space before classes start instead of lying on their mats in silence which I prefer and consider more of an authentic yoga experience. So I find that rude, but it seems to be permitted.
The studio itself is very clean and spacious and pretty, I don't like though how the lockers are far from the change rooms. Kind of a weird lay out. The very first class I ever went to there, I DID notice however, that no one came into the hot studio space to mop up after the previous class let out..... I was kind of like "eww" about that. However, the eager people waiting to attend the next class sort of just rushed in immediately and perhaps didn't give staff a chance to mop. So again, not etiquette that I've experienced else where.
And finally, when I did first come in to purchase my first package of classes, I found the 2 girls at the desk very BLAH. No "welcome to our studio", they simply handed me a form to complete and that was it. Didn't ask me briefly about my yoga experience, no quick run down of the studio etiquette or where things are, I didn't get that hospitable yogi vibe that I get each and every time at my old studio. Which goes back to my point of how it feels more like a yoga gym, not a yoga studio experience. And that welcoming nature is SO important, especially to a new member trying your venue out. It's intimidating to try a new studio out, even if you've practiced yoga before! I would have liked to been shown around for 5 minutes and given a run down on the most popular classes, things like that. They pointed to where the lockers were, and that was my tour.
I am not too sure if I will end up coming here regularly, which is a shame because it is so close to my new place, hence why I decided to try yoga tree out. I can totally understand how many people would love this place, but I'm starting to think it may not be for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
