After a frustrating search for maternity clothes, I landed at Yo Mama. This is a great place to go if you don't want to completely sacrifice your individual style just because you're pregnant.
For a small boutique shop, there were a wide variety of items, both casual and work-appropriate. Some might find the store pricey, but it is not outrageously so - for example, I bought a pair of dress pants for $60, which was the same price I bought for a far less flattering pair at Thyme Maternity. The most expensive item I purchased was a lovely wrap dress for $118. For those of you who don't want to give up your designer jeans, Yo Mama also sells the maternity version of a number of labels (e.g. Paige Premium Denim, James, etc.).
The best part of my shopping experience was the excellent service . The saleswomen were friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and helpful - they made great suggestions for me without being pushy (which was my experience at another maternity store) and were honest about sizing and what looked good on me.
It's really too bad that there are such slim pickings in Edmonton for maternity clothes - especially if you work in a professional office environment. Yes, I realize that pregnancy lasts only a few months, but why not spoil yourself with at least a few quality pieces? After all, baby's going to be spitting up on you soon enough - this might be your last chance to wear something nice!
Yo Mama is a local gem - I just wish there were other independent maternity boutiques like it so that pregnant women have more than just 2 chain stores to shop from. -

This is a designer maternity boutique for trendy moms-to-be who want quality and style. There are some kids clothes as well that are really cute. Whether it's a designer diaper bag you want or a cool tee with a phrase on it like "Where there is life there is love," or a prego bathing suit, they've got it.
The stroller and crib had better be hand-me-downs so you can afford to shop for yourself and babe! When I get pregnant, I am definitely going to have to shop here. A few of my friends already do and I browse along with them.
