Nothing can beat a great hostess, yummy cocktails, lip-smacking appetizers, amazing staff, vodka tastings and last but not least, great conversation.
The pictures speak for themselves and I can't wait for the next shenanigan. Great job organizing Crystal :D

I really like the name of this place. Not to get too technical, but wouldn't the correct verbiage be Shaken instead of Shakin'? But the verb works better than the adjective. This is a place of action. People are talking, drinks are pouring, Bond is on TV kicking ass, food is sizzling, people are laughing, drinks are disappearing, and Bond is making some moves on the suspiciously hot girl on TV. There's a lot going on.
This was a fantastic event with great attention to detail. The Bond dress up corner was wonderful, name tags were very useful, the vodka tasting was informative (more please!), and I love a competitive trivia round (not that I stood a chance of winning).
The Martini judging was a lot of fun. 001 was my favorite- it had some pineapple and grapefruit flavors. 002- was a sweet concoction that went down super easy. 003- the winner was probably the most well rounded but with a complex flavor. Rachel- with your newly acquired gift certificate, do you want to treat us all to a 003 next Wednesday? :)
Wonderful times and great people, can't wait for the next Elite event!

Give a poor review on free alcohol and food? I think not! The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. They kept coming around and replacing my martini and feeding me food.. pretty much the perfect scenario. The bartender had no problem "dirtying" my U'Luvka and the Prawn chef was dishing out inappropriate olive oil jokes while using alcohol to cook. I knew I liked him the moment he emphasized "extra virgin" in that creepy way. Overall, this venue had a really chill vibe with a nice theme set-up.
But what really topped it off though was the great company! This event definitely set the pace for the future Vancouver Elite parties.. I can only imagine things getting better from here. Yeah! Thanks to Crystal, we are in good hands. Shout outs to everyone I met yesterday, and for those I didn't get a chance to, I'm sure our time will come!

Tasty martinis in three-part harmony, sambuca-sauced shrimp, Bond/Bond girl dress-up gear, and the chance to meet many of my favourite Yelpers (and Yelpettes) live and in-person. Yay!
Great job putting on the event, Crystal and Katie S. I always love a good theme party and the venue hosted us fabulously. It was sweltering back there even with fans going and windows open, but trays of martinis being passed around helped things out in that department.
Til we meet again...

A fun night filled with mingling, sipping and Yelp style "Bonding"! The crowd was very friendly and enthusiastic to share hot spots for hanging out around town. I will definitely be back to Shakin' Not Stirred for yummy food and tasty martinis. Awesome service too!
The Bond-esque touches like trivia and dress up photo shoot made the evening lively and interactive. Crystal and Katie were delightful hostess and made sure everyone was having a great time (it would have been hard not to!)
Yelp is taking Vancouver by storm and I will be a Yelpette for life...du-wop wop!

Great first elite event! Nice to meet more of our yelpers and their +1's!
The James Bond theme is cute and not overdone - a few posters, menu names from the movies and some Bond flicks on the LCDs. The decor inside hasn't changed from when it was Plan B - it pretty much looks the same in terms of layout, booth/table style and the exposed brick.
I totally LOL'ed when I realized that they haven't even changed menu covers yet and are still using the Plan B ones!
The event was fun and the U'Luvka vodka, bruchetta and shrimp sampling was yummy!
A comment for the resto and not for the event is that my hubby had was that the drinks weren't very consistent - we had 3 of the "003" while we were there, and the first 2 were great and the third one was off.
Otherwise it was a great event - I didn't care for Plan B (previously reviewed as a 2* for me), but best of luck to Shakin' Not Stirred!

I thought this was a fabulous first yelp elite event!
Everyone mingled and got to know the friendly faces that make up a good chunk of the Vancouver Yelp Elite - and we got free U'Luvka voda martinis and finger foods! The games were great... and the "dress up" corner was good times! =)
I can't wait for the next event!!

I agree with everyone, that was an awesome first Elite event! The theme was super fun, I loved that there was even a Bond movie playing. The martinis were delic, though I didn't get to try the third.
And trust a group of Yelpers to be super social people, great meeting people in the flesh!
My only complaint was that I had to leave early.

Last night was a blast! I had even more fun last night than at bowling. People seemed more social and talkative, although the minimum three martinis we all had probably didn't hurt. =) Great way to start off Elite events in Vancouver!
