Stop by for a fist bump :) A few times, I've gotten a button or a Yelp bag too.

At the Chocolate themed Eat the Street, people played with a giant Jenga game! It was pretty cool.

I always try to stop by and say hi to the awesome Thomas at the booth.

    ROACH COACH HEAVEN!

My first Eat The Street! and I went the day the trucks needed to incorporate Chocolate into their menu! Needed to get that chocolate fix.

Parking can be a bit difficult since it's along the main streets in Ala Moana Blvd of Honolulu, but it is OH SO worth it!

What a great event for it to be FREE. Unfortunately, NOT free food or food sampling, only free entrance.

It's best to come early, because most of the food trucks run out of the GOOD and FAVORITE foods! I got the PLEASURE of tasting a lot of new foods, that I have never really tried on the mainland.

When you arrive it's so so difficult to decide which truck to go to, and it's a huge lot full of them! BE PREPARED to BRING CASH also for long lines, crowded with people and kids, especially if you come 2hrs before closing, you need to prepare yourself for the food, and maybe next time I will come early. Also, be prepared to bring  your own water, wear light clothing, as it gets hot walking around trying to eat and walk while tripping over fallen garbage or kids is not an enjoyable thing.

First place I went to was the Pork BBQ sandwich ($6ea), the best part NO LINE regardless of all the other booths, AND I got to put as much sauce as I want on it. The chocolate fix that I got at this booth, was the Chocolate Haupia Muffin ($3), Oh my gosh, my husband and I devoured that muffin less than one minute.

Second Place visited was Waffle Dog ($3ea) I would say, save your money, it's a basic hot dog inside a waffle, and it was alright, but considering the size it wasn't as great as the smell and how good the advertisement made it out to be.

Third place visited Hokulani Bake Shop ($2.50/cupcake) and also as seen on Cupcake Wars and NOW winners Btw! (who knew?!) Most of the cupcakes at their truck were sold out, and at First I was disappointed, but when we went back they had 3 flavors baked fresh straight from the oven! We got the Strawberry Guava, and The Lilikoi Lemon. The Lilikoi Lemon is THEE best cupcake I have tasted in a long time. The cupcake was VERY moist and very full of flavor. I wanted to cry. No joke.

Last place we visited was Ono Pops! Super long line, but SO worth it! These delicious pops are handmade using Hawaii's best locally and organically grown. By the time I got the front, some flavors already were sold out! I wanted to try the Lilikoi Cheesecake, or the Orange Creme soda. However, I tried the Butter Mochi instead, VERY good, that flavor I thought would be overpowering of butter, but no it didn't. My husband tried the Apple Banana Macadamia Nut! OMG, if you're filipino and you are FAMILIAR with ICE CANDY without the corn, THIS is what it tasted like! brought us back to our childhood days when we were back in the Philippines!

Thanks to Yelp booth for my free yelpstick and yelp mints (totally needed after all that food), I had another great adventure, and I can't wait to go again! This time, save some money, coming early and get out of my safety zone and try a new roach coach! I Love it!

    Yay!!! Free sunglasses!!!

Getting geared up for the Eat the Street last week, I was getting excited because I kept thinking of the Yelp Booth.

As soon as we got there and my husband stood in line with me at Achilles Grill after he roamed the area to scout out what he wanted, he shared "There's a Yelp Booth".

I made him stand in line for me as I practically ran to the Yelp Booth.

Seriously...who cannot help but get excited? It's like Will Farrell yelling "SANTA?! SANTAAAA!!!" in the movie, Elf, when you hear that there is a Yelp Booth at Eat the Street and you want to yell out "YELP! YEEELPPPP" in front of the tent but you have to calm yourself down or else they'll throw the sunglasses at you to get you away from the tent.

I checked in on Yelp---showed my iPhone to the three individuals manning the booth (I didn't get to meet Emi!!! But one day I will!) and got me FREE SUNGLASSES!

I noticed the mints and the lip balm but I was told that I would have to give up my sunglasses for the lip balm or the mint. I chose to keep my sunglassses but noting that I will definitely get the mints next time.

What can I say? I love Yelp. I love writing. I am proud to be part of the Yelp Elite!!!

To our Community Manager, Emi...thank you for all that you are doing not only for Yelp but for Hawaii!

After hearing so much hype about Eat The Street the past few months, i decided to give this place a shot since the theme was " Garlic ", which is just what i was looking for. As i was walking around the area, i heard that the Yelp Tent would be put up somewhere around the area and lo and behold, there it was right before my very eyes...
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

As i approached the Yelp tent, a very lovely looking local lady was manning the tent and asked me if i wanted to a part of the weekly yelp, but i told her i was a Yelp Elite and i told her my name was Ramfis. I was so surprised that she even knew about me because i have never attended any of the Yelp events and she says that she enjoys reading my reviews and that made me feel good to know that people actually notice my reviews. So i asked her if her name was Emi and she responded " Yes, i am. I was so excited to finally meet the person who makes Yelp what it is today in the Aloha State. Emi was very nice and cordial and i also got to meet a few more Yelpies as well.
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Well that broke the Yelpie Ice for me. I think i am ready to attend more of these events and meet more of my fellow Yelpies because they are indeed what separates foodies from REAL FOODIES like us Yelpers are. So for those of you who haven't signed up for Yelp yet, my advice to you is give it a try because this site is your bible to great eats around the Aloha State.

Well in ending, i just wanna tell you people who aren't Elites, these are perks of being a Yelp Elite. So my advice to you is, REVIEW IT and say it as you see it and taste it!!!
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

I am so proud to be a part of the YELP TEAM and i am looking forward to meeting other Yelpers the next time around. Thanks for everything Emi =)

    Yelp 365: 05/365

Of course this booth gets 5 stars.  Granted there might not be food, but you can get some awesome schwag.  Yelpsticks, sunglasses, mints, buttons/pins galore.

I already got my pair of sunglasses, but heck I checked in here during the last Eat the Street anyway.  Great stuff going on.

And who doesn't love Giant Jenga?  It's a blast for those who played and those who spectated.  Remember though, if you knock it over, you have to pick it up!  No flaking out.

Helped out Thomas O. a little bit at the booth this last time because so many people were asking him questions about what Yelp was and how they can go to cool events like we do.  Glad to be of help even if it was for a little while.

I saw people with their sunglasses showing it off to their friends, and that's definitely what I would do.  There were even some people who had never heard of Yelp (who woulda thunk?), but I helped them download the app on their phones, and they got right to checking in.  This one girl was so excited that she told her boyfriend that they needed to go home so she could write a review.  Lol.  Glad I could make a difference in someone's life ... for the BETTER.

Yelp's growing fast people.  Let's make it grow faster.

Hi, my name is Kim, and I'm a Yelpaholic.

I realized I had a problem when my poor husband posted on my Facebook wall, "I wish I was Yelp so you would be on me all the time." I didn't get the message until a few days later via my little brother.

You know that song by the Black Eyed Peas, "Just Can't Get Enough?"  Well that song describes my relationship with Yelp.  Here's a link just in case....
    http://www.youtube.com...

I jokingly told him that he should have messaged me through Yelp so I could have got the message sooner.  It didn't really click until more people brought up the post and how it just made me talk about Yelp  : / rather then my husbands hurt feelings.

So what does a foodie girl want to do when she arrives at eat the street?  Make a B line straight to the Yelp booth of course.  To show my support and to show that I checked in to attain Yelp sunglasses.

I didn't have to search long because my older son gravitated towards the giant Jenga.  There were tons of Yelp paraphernalia on the table.  I also scored a Yelp nail file.  Thanks Racquel for taking a pic with me and my apologies for my husband.  He never counts to 3 when he is behind the camera.

I passed by the Yelp booth, that is right in the middle of the trucks, and next to the Street Grindz booth and some other booths, and said hi to Emi, who's always so sweet and friendly, and also got to meet yelper Michael C. also.  There were only pins and lip balm  this time, so I didn't take anything again since Emi gave me a yelp watch for being an elite last time.  I didn't get to meet anyone else, but another yelper from another state instead.

The second time I passed by the yelp booth to see if there were any yelpers I recognized, they were taking pictures of people wearing a hat and holding the "spicy or hot" sign (I forgot what it exactly said) for the event and a chance to win tickets to Taste of Kapolei, but I think that was for new people who are signing up for yelp.

Always friendly people there, especially Emi, and I hope to meet more yelpers when I pass by there again since I usually can't make the yelp Elite or UYE events.

Eat the street wouldn't be the same without the Yelp Booth. I know because I use to work the booth... tons of people with their curiosity would come by and ask away with their questions.

This booth is always packed with people wanting to sign up for the weekly yelp. And of course if you sign up they always give you free schwagg or take the spiciest photo for a chance to win 2 pair of tickets to taste of Ko'Olina. How much awesomeness do you want fromt his booth?... ooooh maybe the awesome yelpers!

It's not hard to find this booth, just find the crowded tent and you know thats the right path to go. They offer check-in prizes... such as Yelp Sunglasses! Yeah the heat can get to you at Eat the Street and what better way to protect those UV rays... Sunglasses! Everyone knows this booth because they come by and ask for tote bags for their food, or mints for their garlicky breath or lip balm for their dry lips.

The booth has free schwagg and you can also play giant Jenga! The rule is that you can play but if it falls on you, you need to put it back together. And thats the only rule!

What else do you want from this booth? You have to stop by and subscribe to the weekly Yelp and get awesome schwaggs!

What more can be said about the Yelp Booth than has already been said? Helpful and friendly staff, Fun activities, and of course all the SCHWAG! This is a must stop at the event, and dare i say, one of the best booths on the entire place.

I always meet or at least recognize people at the yelp booth when eat the street rolls around.  Whether its people working, or just faces surrounding the booth. This month i got to meet Thomas O. as he was handing out flyers and greeting people. Nice to finally put a handshake to the avatar.

Im already looking forward to the next Eat The Street, and another round of Giant Jenga.

    See you there!

Anyway, yes. Basically this booth is always consistent with 'schwag' and great conversations with fellow Yelpers and the oh-so holy grail, herself, Emi H.

Also the interns Emily & Thomas O. are very helpful ;) and true ambassadors of Yelp.

Don't forget to check-in so you get schwag (you'll know what I mean)!!!

This was my first real encounter with Yelp at all and the girls manning the yelp booth were very helpful. Got me signed up very quickly and walked me through the "check-in" process so that I could score some instant swag. There was a lot of great stuff to choose from, but I ended up getting a great shot glass (you can never have too many) and some cool sunglasses for my gf with my first check in.

I can definitely say I'm hooked on Yelp now and I'm getting my girlfriend to join in, too. Thanks for all of the help!

    Yelp 365 Challenge: 05/365

    Oh the sight!

Like an oasis hidden deep within the barren waste land of a large desert...

Like a lighthouse shining brightly in the night during the worst of storms...

Like an angel sent from above...

The Yelp Booth beckons the weary and curious with it's siren's song of social influence and swag.  At July's Eat The Street, it was Emi & Fam Bam + Yelpy Folk holding it down with bright smiles reppin' the Y-E-L-P.

For those of you who don't know, YELP is a free community, member based forum, centered around the exchange of opinions regarding just about everything in your community.  Like the tag line says, Real People, Real Reviews.  Basically, if you're looking to find out what people in your community think about a service or place you're interested in, http://YELP.com is the place to go.  Upon walking up to the booth, you will be greeted by Yelpy people and given a quick break down of what YELP is and why you need to know about it.  The biggest hook of the YELP Booth is the free schwag.  Who doesn't like free stuff?  If you answered "Me!", stop reading - you're fired!  Anywho, if you are willing to receive information regarding some of the best things around town (for free) via email, YELP is ready to make it rain on you!  YELP schwag includes shot glasses, chap stick, breath mints, tote bag, buttons etc.  So like Biggie Smalls said "If ya don't know, now ya know..."

For those of us in the know, CHECK IN @ THE BOOTH!  You know there's mad YELP love for you.  At this Eat The Street it was the sunglasses... UV RAYS? F U See Um!  Moreover, it's always nice to see your YELP friends in real life.  So do it!

If you're still not sure about the YELP BOOTH at any event you see it, just walk up and ask.  The curious are always welcomed.  Promise!

I didn't even get the chance to do a stealth check out of the Yelp booth when I hear my name being called oh oh busted! Well not really I had the pleasure of our Wonderful Sweet baby carrying Ambassador come well not quite bounding to hug me but as quick as she could as I unfortunately am a poor Yelp member who when the occasion presents itself I escape to visit my fellow Yelpers and mingle a little when I can. It was one of those occasions that I was able to escape the duties of the slave and have a brief indulgence of freedom to be handsomely rewarded with a wonderful "Yelp Watch" Yes!! now I feel like an Elite of course I also had to get my fill of swag and grabbed a few mints and of course a bottle opener how could I live without one of those?
Well of course I HAVE to say not because I was forced to or anything it's because of the energy of the Yelp Booth that of all the non-food booths I feel happiest around that one booth Yay! fellow Yelpers although there were many Yelpers I didn't get to meet and just lucky enough to say a few words too it was like coming home to family... yep I must be mentally Yelptarded ahh but being so I don't know anything else...

I shall return to the Yelp booth where ever you are for my recharge!!

    Thanks Emi and Crew!

First encounter at a Yelp booth. Raquel was manning the booth and introduced herself immediately. Nice girl and she had lots of Yelp goodies give me. She told me to check into the Yelp Booth and I would get free sunglasses. Cute sunglasses too. I also got some sweatbands and a shot glass. My son loved the huge jenga set that was set up in front of the booth. Fun stuff.

Emi H. Did an awesome job at the yelp tent. Great yelp swag!! She provided a lot of answers regarding yelp. Wife was able to get a yelp shot glass for signing up for the email and I got interesting sunglasses for checking in (even though the reward for checking in wasn't showing when i first checked in - guess I beat her).
