    I feel i should clarify... it's:
As good as it gets... around Point Grey!

They serve authentic Cantonese food which is totally awesome.  I've even tested out their congee as a test and it totally passed the sample test.  Their lunch menus are only $5.95 and it comes with a soup (highly recommend chicken corn soup).

I'll be sad when they are gone because of the rezoning project.  I've asked the owners and they said they're still in the process of looking for a new location.

My sister and I were walking in the neighbourhood and craving something to quench our thirst: BUBBLE TEA!

I had a coffee milk tea and my sister got a green apple slush with coconut jelly. The flavour was perfect, not overly sweet (good thing!), and had the right amount of ice. For the price $3.50 ($0.50 for pearls, jelly, etc), this was awesome! Cheap and good quality. We were very happy with our drinks.

We will definitely be hitting this place up again!

I was craving chow mein and this place definitely satisfied my cravings! I had the sweet and sour pork which was superb, it had delicious little chunks of pineapple and onions, perfect crispyness.

I also had the pork chow mein and boy was that good the portion was HUGE but i suprised myself and ended up eating it all :S it was that good.

I was with my boyfriend and we got the amazing wontons and although im just not a fan of rice the pork and shrimp fried rice was damn good, all together the price came to just under $35

The service was great, so welcoming and our server was very informative and sweet :)

I love that this place opens late, originally we were going somewhere else closer to where I live but it was closed (it was around 930 though)

I would come here again and again really amazing if you're ever craving anything Chinese this is the place, great service AMAZING food and very clean! I loved it and am currently craving the pork chow mein :S

This place quickly became my favourite take-out place when I lived near UBC, and I mourn that I no longer live nearby enough to stop by for lunch anymore.

Favourite dinner dishes include the green beans, chicken w/ three mushroom, and chicken curry. But everything I've tried has been good!

Their lunch is also ridiculously cheap (like, $5) and includes a hot and sour soup (which is spectacular), lychee tea, and your choice of entree with rice. The full dishes are great, flavourful, and huge.

As a student I really appreciate the cheap prices and big portions @ Yan Ming!

Some of my faves include their congee (lots of ginger and meat), pork + shrimp fried rice and beef w/ brocoli. Their chowmein falls a bit under satisfaction compared to other asian joints but other than that most things I've ordered have been really fresh and piping hot!

Got the menu through the door and thought it looked pretty good. Some interesting sounding dishes as well as all the standards.  Still, always a little risky trying a new place.  Who knows what might arrive in those containers?

First stop, hot and sour soup.  A good soup is always a good omen for the rest.  Bland, glutenous hot and sour is horrific.  In this case, the soup was fabulous.  Just the right zing and full of yummy stuff.  Lots of tofu, mushroom strands, etc. and not too corn starchy.  Really, really good.

We ordered the typical sweet and sour pork.  Again, a good reference point.  I've had some soggy and bland versions, but this one was nothing like that.  Crispy and really meaty with loads of peppers and chunks of pineapple.  Sauce was typical, but good.  One of the best sweet and sour porks I've had.

Chicken with three kinds of mushrooms was also really good. Maybe a tad salty, but the flavour was really nice.

House special chow mien was also very good.  Really big pile of stuff.  Most places do a decent house special chow mien and this was no exception.  Very good.

The other good things about Yan Ming is that the food arrived quick and very hot.  Portions are very generous and the prices are really decent.  Soup was even free because the order was over $30.  Wow!

I've had mixed results with Chinese that deliver in Kits.  There are some okay ones, some terrible and one or two pretty good ones.  This is definitely one of the best, so won't be trying others for a while now!

Babysitting for friends one time, my boyfriend promised the kids milkshakes at 9pm. I rolled my eyes immediately, knowing it would keep them up until midnight. The kids were absolutely on board.

So off we trudged (thankfully it was in the summer) to find a place for milkshakes. After one block the kids were already tired and the best we could come up with for milkshakes at 9pm was Seven-11. On the way there, we passed this little Chinese restaurant and they were advertising milkshakes.

We ordered a blueberry and a strawberry milkshake from the lady behind the high counter. About four minutes of whirring blenders later we were back on the street and the kids each with a milkshake larger than their heads. My boyfriend wouldn't hear of getting the kids a smaller cup.

After a few sips both of the children were full and now really ready for bed. So us "grown-ups" finished the shakes. To my surprise both were really refreshing, with limited sugar and dairy. Prices were reasonable although I can't remember what we paid off-hand, I think it was in the region of $6 for both.

This is a cute little local take out spot that we'll be back to for dinner sometime.

Have ordered delivery a few times, it's nice that you only have to drop $12 and they'll deliver for free.

First time I ordered there was a mix-up with them using my credit card and double charging me, but it was sorted out (took an additional half hour out of my day though). Learned that the Chicken Chow Mein was kinda greasy, everything within it tasted the same, and seemed to upset the stomach. Haven't ordered it since.

Otherwise though, the individual combos are pretty great - lots of food, great value, and taste really good (personally Combo B is a fav). The special Won-ton soup is pretty good too (have had some really fishy-tasting stuff in the past at other places, the broth here though is excellent).

Unfortunately, open till 12:30am doesn't mean they'll pick up the phone for delivery at midnight.

    Great for a university budget.

Great Value! All their dishes are excellent and the portions are massive. I especially enjoy the 'mom and pop' operation.  Their hot and sour soup is divine.
