Review from Lady C.

Certainly not your average dental experience! After spending many years visiting dentists with cold "hospital white" walls, and unfriendly receptionists, and jittery dentists - Yaletown Dentistry offers a total change!
The dentists, hygienists, and receptionists were all very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was hip, relaxing, and inviting.
I'm not sure what one of the previous posters is on about, with their dislike of the music - personally I really enjoyed listening to music a little more modern, rather than the traditional "elevator music" that most dental places offer. After all - isn't a more modern atmosphere a big part of why we visit Yaletown?
I usually cringe at the thought of my next visit to a dentist office - but now, I can't wait to come back! -

Everyone is always polite and I've never had an issue with any of the procedures, but for the love of Maude, please change the music!
I prefer early-morning appointments (7am). On my last two visits, I was greeted with:
a) Disco pumping out of the speakers. I mean, I love Chic as much as the next polyester bell-bottom wearer, but at 7am???
b) Horrible, horrible, horrible deep house music. My main man put it best when he quipped, "I feel like I should ask the person beside me if they come here often." -

This dentist was recommended to me by friends who worked in the area. My previous dentist retired. So I finally made an appointment here and went in. They wowed me with advanced equipment and showed my the inside of my mouth on the big screen with a camera. The staff was friendly but too casual for my liking. They suggested I do a number of things to my teeth that I thought unnecessary and even they seemed a bit hard pressed to sell. Not that shocking though.
The real kicker was having me pay for the appointment afterward instead of taking my (really good) insurance information and handling it for me like most dentists. They also forgot to tell me of this fact until after! I haven't been back and I told them all this on the phone too.
I'd find a real dentist instead if you're looking. -

Always as good experience for me. Dr Lalani is patient, very sweet, and supportive. (I know she's lying when she says "Almost done!" and "It's just a little pinch," but it's nice nonetheless.)
Just had major dental surgery there with a doctor they brought in. Four molars out, three of them wisdom teeth. A nurse was there, they hooked me up to vital monitoring and I got the IV sedation. All I remember is him saying "Okay, you'll start to feel the meds in about a minute." Next thing I know, I'm in the recovery room and it was all over. I don't even remember getting the freezing needle.
It was as painless as it could have been. -

I had a horrible experience with this dentist. After never having a cavity in my life - I went here. After my first visit they told me I had 9 cavities. Foolishly, I believed them. The first set of fillings they gave me were extremely sore. For 9 months I complained to the dentist about pain in my mouth (I could only chew on one side of my mouth) before they finally agreed to replace the fillings which solved that problem. However, after this horrible experience (and only having 5 of my suposed 9 cavities being filled) I went to a new dentist. After thorough x-rays and a check-up, the new dentist told me I had no cavities. Please, if you go here and they diagnose expensive procedures, get a second opinion. I'm now out thousands of dollars and have permanent damaged to my teeth.

I think this dentist is definitely as good as it gets, seriously. It's been a while since I've been to the dentist and I hate them! so i went in for a cleaning after noticing that i've been having bleeding gums - so to cut long story short and spare you the disgusting details, the staff here are super duper friendly. they gave me a headset to watch my fave tv show while getting my teeth done and conversed with me to keep me relaxed and comfortable. i have never been to such a no stress dentist before! the place is cool and funky and everything from registration to payment went super smooth (god i still can't believe i'm writing a review for a dentistry)
ask for phil the hygienist if you ever need cleaning - he's super good - friendly and makes sure you are in as little pain as possible! and if you need a dentist ask for Shaireen lalani.
looking forward to my next filling! -

Dr. Lalani also diagnosed me with 13 cavities after being her patient for a number of years. I got a second opinion and was told that I had no cavities. She also convinced me to get porcelin veeners for my top 2 teeth that shifted somewhat after having braces as an adolecent. The veneers were put in crooked and shifted my gumline upwards. Avoid.
