Review from Joshua N.
I like that they make their own beer, and that it tastes good, and that there's a lot of variety, and that it's reasonably priced. I also like that you can get it in sampler-sized 6oz glasses for only $2 each.
They've got a bar side and a restaurant side. They've got a pool table. They've got a patio. On Saturday nights they've got a line up, which is bad, but I guess that's the price you pay if you want to go somewhere decent in a trendy neighbourhood. Despite the name, this is the least Yaletown establishment in all of Yaletown - in other words they serve a great product at a reasonable price. -

If I could give you a zero star I would. And yes i admit that the story i am about to tell took me 2 weeks to calm down enough to write. It is not for young children or the faint of heart. Oh k maybe I'm being a little dramatic but I am sure anyone who went through what I did would feel the same way.
On this particular day I had spent the day looking online for things to do for free on my birthday. IE I wanted to get drunk, and I wanted to do it for either cheap or free. So after spending a few hours researching I had narrowed it down to breakfast for dinner at Denny's because they"d give me a free grand slam or Yale town because they advertise a fee t-shirt, free shot, and free dessert.
So i pick up the phone and call down to Yaletown brew pub thinking it was too good to be true. I explained to the girl on the phone that it was just myself and my sister and she said no problem. Come on down and we'll treat you great, its your birthday after all.
I couldn't wait for 5 O'clock to come! Its my birthday, I'm pumped. ha. and that ha is more of a derivative snort.
When i got to the restaurant there were 4 waiters/waitresses standing around chatting with the hostess. I explain to them that its my birthday. I wait for the happy birthday to ensue. NOTHING. 5 people not one of them shows any inclination that they give a rats butt. So I tell them I spoke to someone earlier and she said if I came down I got all this stuff. The hostess says to me 'well tell that to your server" and then directs us into the pub side, even though we stated we wanted the other side because we were going to be eating.
When the waitress comes to us we again explain its my birthday. She says "so are you ordering a drink?" Again no "happy birthday." i mean to me it seems pretty self explanatory if you want a tip to say it whether you care or not.
If only that was the end of the store, but no there is more. We order our drinks and when she comes back my sister makes a point of asking if I get anything and the girl says "No, just a happy birthday" still not even DIRECTLY saying happy birthday. Then she walks away.
Fine. whatever. I get at this point I'm not getting any special treatment on my birthday. I'm wishing i had gone to Denny's and not Yaletown. It starts getting cold so we go inside from the patio and sit at a table. Which our waitress has to walk past every 20 seconds to take other people their drinks.
Does she stop to see if we want to order food? no. Does she stop to ask if we want another drink? no. does she completely ignore us and pretend we aren't there? yes. So after sitting there for 40 minutes feeling pretty rejected, 10 minutes of which our glasses are completely empty and signaling to get her attention with no response she comes wandering over.
and this is where the s**t hits the fan for me. This is where i get totally mad and just give up.
"do you want the bill split up or all together?"
Are you serious??? She didn't check in once, and she didn't ask if we wanted anything else.
on a normal day I can put up with that but on MY birthday? Way to make me feel completely unwelcome.
We paid our bill after waiting for her to come back after an additional 20 minutes.
And I decided that I will not be returning to this place, and the next time i want to feel special on my birthday I'll take the local Denny's over this place ANY DAY! -

Chances are if I end up in Yaletown this is where I end up.
This place is the paragon of consistency. Consistently good.
Like all the Mark James Group establishment, this place features a compact-ish menu of standard pub fare and speciality dishes. Over the years I've worked my way through most of the menu, and I've yet to have a bad dish. I recommend going with their pizza. They're freshly made and of the thin crust variety.
The freshly made made is also a good reason to keep coming back! -

Good food but horrible customer service. Our waiter was rude to say the least and made us feel line serving our table was an inconvinience, even though he had an automatic tip because we were a group. In never going back to this place.

Came for lunch. Pretty decent. Beer list was not as extensive as I would have thought, but it hit all the major bases. Food was alright and prices were comparable to other restaurants/pubs in the area.

Went here on a more quiet night (weeknight) and were very happy with the place. It has a very impressive layout with multiple tiers, dining areas, and a very large hard-working staff. They brew their own beer and have excellent food. I'd recommend the "Altered Hawaiian" pizza, which was delicious with very generous toppings.

Review from Meana k.
My favorite thing about this place is that on the back of their menu, in the bottom right corner, it says "Leafs Suck."
I actually like the Maple Leafs well enough, but I love to taunt my Toronto friends, especially this season since, well, the Leafs suck.
That aside, this bar has beer specials which I appreciate. They will play multiple games across their screens even on a Canucks game night. There's plenty of space to get a pretty big crowd of friends/coworkers/what-have-you to join together in conversation and drinks. Service is okay. Definitely friendly and attentive, but they often seem short staffed on the floor.
Foodwise, I've had the wings which are ok, tried a pizza which was good, and the shortrib sliders which were good. All of this is decent for bar food, nothing really outstanding but at least average or above. Paired with some good beer, I'm a happy camper when I come here for a few hours to catch a game or attend a happy hour. -

Back in the day I used to frequent this place on Sundays for their $9 pizza special. It was a good way to chill with some friends after a wild Saturday night out. Besides pizza with a little hair of the dog always makes a great breakfast.
I decided to check in here and see if they still had their super yummy thin crust pizza on special this weekend, and luck for me - they did! The BF and I split the four cheese and the spinach and apple pizzas, along with some deep fried pickles to start. We probably didn't need that much food, but I was craving the deep fried pickles (unfortunatley I thought the ones at Yagger's were better - mostly due to the dipping sauce) but nobody cold hold a candle to the pizzas at the Yaletown Brew Pub. The crust and dough they use for their pizzas tastes so fresh, like they just finished making it for you. It comes out of the oven all soft and chewy and has that floury-feel to the bottom of it. I think they should have dipping sauces for the crust though, cuz I love dipping sauces for my crust, but it is still good on its own.
I also had a cesar, which was good, and the BF had a beer, they have one on special for $4.50 on Sundays, so I think that was the one he got. My only gripe about the place was that we sat on the bar side and the lighing was so dark that I could barely read the menu. I felt like a bit of an old lady turning the light app on on my iphone just so I could read the damn thing. I'm all for dark and mysterious as I'm sure you all know, but it has to be functional too! In any case, I'll probably be back for more pizza parties! -

You know those Moxie's commercials where they show people laughing, smiling and enjoying each others company? Well that actually happens here at Yaletown brew! Especially during a Martini Magic night!

Good for lunch and a few after work.
Watch a game, avoid the traffic.
But, I do miss the good ole days when brews were cheap. -

3 for the food, but 4 for the fun, hip atmosphere there. You can sure drink lots there w/ its comfortable setting, ppl just chilling and servers not rushing you.
Normally at bars, i would order the typical nachos, wings but ordered the chicken burger. nothing special, a bit dry even, came w/ choice of fries or salad. Yam fries don't exist here!
For a Wed. nite, at least the bar side was busy... -

My first review as a Yelper ever Hooray!
Anyhow, went to YBC for the Superbowl. The surroundings were Black and Tan to steal a phrase from their menu, nice vibe, servers were pleasant, everyone in the place was friendly, i was chatting to people at the booth to my left and to my right about the game throughout. Good community cheer. I ordered the Pork Chops, one of my faves, which i've tried at many places, and it was pretty good. The Chicken Wings were however a bit too salty for my taste, it could've been toned down and i would've loved it. The standout was the batter for the fried Onion Rings, which was heavenly, it compares favorably with my mom's homemade fried bananas. One of a kind. -

Bro-city.
When I was in Vancouver at the beginning of the year and drunk enough to get in the car with strangers, I met some random people who took my friend and me here after last call.
Yaletown Brewing Co. is huge, has multiple pool tables, full bar, but the scene was heavily frat-boyesque.
Somebody at the bar ordered everyone a jager bomb (WHY do Canadians go crazy over these?!) and some shitty pale ale, which I think is a perfect explanation of this place.Listed in: Vancouver, BC

When did Yaletown Brewery turn into a douche club on the weekends?
It used to be great. And I mean GREAT. It was the preferred place to go. I have fond memories of their Sunday night 1 1/2 chicken dinners and remember what a gem this was in the budding Yaletown neighbourhood.
Now it's a standing-room only no-service pseudo-club with a line-up every weekend, and a not-so-special menu. Okay, got to give it to them for standing the test of time, and it being a good spot fo a beer when it's not too busy, but it's no longer a cool place to just show up and hang out on the weekend. The beer is expensive and the whole Mark James appeal is starting to disappear with this less than neighbourly feeling pub.Listed in: Yelp's 30-day Challenge

Review from Brian W.
Several years ago a friend and I went here for lunch at 11am--We left about 11pm. I think we had 4 servers during the 12+ hours we were there. The food was good, the beer was good. This past week I had a friend in town who I dragged over to the Yaletown because I figured it would be awesome to capture some of that same experience from about 10 or 12 years ago... I don't think that is possible any longer. Too much of a formula restaurant. The menu was very generic and the beers were too. Perhaps I am starting to sound the same with my reviews--There needs to be something that helps your restaurant to stand out. Being owned by a huge restaurant group doesn't help.

I went for lunch with some work peeps last week and was surprised how good the food is.
I had their chicken schnitzel sandwich (hold the bun) with a salad. The salad had their own Dijon vinaigrette on it. It was not to oily and had good flavour. The schnitzel was tasty with two strips of deliciously crispy bacon on top. So glad I didn't go for the bun - it was filling.
Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and I tried someone's onion ring. One person had deep fried pickles and raved about them. Who knew??
The server gave us separate cheques which was great. The food came out quickly and was hot. It's perhaps a little pricey for lunch ($14 for my lunch) but it was filling and those that had it with the bun had to take 1/2 of it with them to go. My sandwich with the beer of the day and tip was $25.Listed in: My Yaletown, Yelp's 30 Day Challenge

Meh...Wasn't so blown away by this place. I found it strange that last call was so early on a Friday night, but perhaps the area is a dead zone after a certain time in winter, but it's yaletown?!?
I didn't like how our waitress seemed MIA for most of the evening. I constantly found myself getting up and down out of my seat, turning head from side to side looking for our server. I also didn't like how our waitress, rudely informed us that she had stated it was last call when we decided a few minutes after she had said so, that we wanted dessert. Do you want our business and money or not?
The location and pub itself is really nice, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. I ordered the mac and cheese with chorizo sausage which was less than ok. The serving was big, but it lacked taste. This may seem uncouth, but I asked for ketchup to add a little flavor to it.
I guess there is one other good thing I can say, and that is they gave me a free T shirt! Which all of my friends signed with messages. Overall the night was good, but that had nothing to really do with the pub itself, but more to do with the company I was with and the reason for being out and about that night.
Not sure if I'll be coming back, maybe during a game night or something, so that I'm more distracted from the bad service, or lack there of.

I'm from Seattle and while I've been in Vancouver I've had a very hard time finding beer that I like, particularly IPAs. Not sure what you all have against hops up here.... the IPA at Yaletown is one of the better IPAs I've had here and I think it stands up to many of the microbrews I regularly drink in the states.
The food here is pretty good as well. I've had the chopped salad and the schnitzel sandwich, both were tasty. Stay away from the onion rings which were bland and greasy.Listed in: 30 Day Challenge List

I want to like this place because they have a kick ass patio and a cool vibe but I just can't.
I think their food is overpriced for what it is. I've had chicken wings and they were expensive for what they were. And the pizza not too bad. Not too bad isn't good enough especially in Yaletown where there are abundance of restaurants with actual good food you can choose from. Food need to be great if I am going to be patron there.
Obviously I haven't had all of their menu items but based on what I've had so far, I can only give 2.5 stars on the food.
I give 3 stars overall because they have an awesome patio. I love sitting out there having a beer on a nice summer day. Now that the weather has taken a turn for the worse (damn you rain and cold weather!) I really have no reason to go here. -
Review from Trudi C.
I only ever seem to visit this place when friends are here from out of town. More so because they are beer drinkers, and like the choice ;) This is not a place to come for a quiet chat; it's loud, they are big screens everywhere, but it's a good atmosphere :)
I like to get a hot choc with peppermint schnapps, combined with a lovely chicken chickpea curry, and huge onion rings (yes, this sounds like an awful combo, hahah!). All tastes GREAT though! A little pricey, but worth coming here occasionally as we know it's always going to be good!
Word of warning: You can't take a drink from the left hand bar side of the pub to the restaurant! We were waiting for a table to become available so got some drinks. As we walked to the other side we were told they would have to be finished before we went to the restaurant side...where we could order the exact same drinks. Huh? -

This place is a bit pricy, especially if you drink a lot! However, their Wheat Beer and their Raspberry Hef that's only made in the summer time are worth their weight in gold.
The food is decent, not the best, not the worst. They serve Deep Fried Pickles on their menu too whenever you have a Snooki moment (I have many). Really though, you're coming here for their beers so having the decent food is a plus.
The service is very friendly and they have a great patio for funny Yaletown people watching during the warmer months. It's also one of the less pretentious places in Yaletown as well, if that sort of thing matters to you. -
Review from Sarah D.
With a more casual feel than many of its neighbours, Yaletown Brewing Company is a decent choice if you find yourself lookin' for a place to chill in the Yaletown area. In the summertime their patio is perpetually bumpin', so come early if you want to save your spot in the sunshine.
As far as their in-house brews go, they're not too shabby. Their warehouse stout is my go-to choice, but it doesn't come anywhere close to the all-time best stout: Guinness (mind you, nothing really does). Their food pretty darn good as well. The last time I was there I had their Valencia bowl (chicken, shrimp, mussels and chorizo with jasmine rice), but at $18.99 you're much better opting for one of their hand-held or more casual options (which, in my opinion, are even more tastier). Their mac n' cheese is excellent, especially if you add chorizo to it. Delicious!
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a huge fan of the Yaletown neighbourhood in general (too many vain people with way too much money), but the Yaletown Brewing Company is an oasis amongst all that. Overall, I'd visit again, but if I were organizing an event with my friends I likely wouldn't choose it as our destination given all the other options Vancouver has to offer. -
Review from Tatiana M.
As a general rule, I don't eat where I drink, especially if it's beer. (If you were wondering I do drink where I eat, though). With this in mind, I had a pretty good time here. Because I won't likely be trying their beer in the near future, I got the sampler tray of eight. Yes, you read right. Eight four-oz beers. I know that only equates to about 32 oz of beer, but it still feels like a lot when you're also being overwhelmed by different flavours.
Half were good, two were OK, and the other two were watery/not flavourful enough. The ones I like tended to either use Oregon hops or actually seemed to be made for beer-drinkers. I'm betting that the rest were made for their majority clientele; less-adventurous beer drinkers, or someone who wants something to drink while watching a Canuck game.
Service was pretty mediocre. I didn't really feel like she was trying to sell us anything more than what we already had. Since it's in Yaletown, I'd suggest dressing a bit nicer than you might normally for a brew-pub. Decor's what you'd expect.
We sat on the patio, which made for great people watching, especially on a Friday night.Listed in: Vancouver, BC

The original Yaletown pub, Yaletown Brewing is the steady eddy of the pubs down here, maybe a little long in the tooth but they have some good daily specials (can't remember but one day a week the pizzas are 1/2 price)
It gets real noisy in here at night or hockey day (forget conversation of any kind)
Probably the biggest thing they could (if they could) fix would be the service, it is always sloow and if you sit on the patio you might as well go to the bar for service, Best for lunches or afternoon when the sun goes down it turns into a frat house party -

Beer only review
Great storefront over cobble stone streets. Ample outdoor seating on their wrap around porch. No small time here with a bar area that seats ~11 up at the hardwood and another 80+ at booth-backed high tops and side bars. Thats not including a "lounge" area I'm front for another 20+. Maxed out, this house is a rock'n. Oh, a coin op pool table's in the back looking through the glass wall o where the magic happens. The brewery.
Chris, my bartender, introduced himself with a handshake and after my order, began to talk up the beers walking back with a taster of their seasonal, a Wit, without me asking. Now thats good customer service and way to up sell. Good, clean finish in this mighty fine Belgium style white brew. More on beer? With IPA, Lager, Pale, Brown, Stout Wheat, Seasonal and Cask, Yaletown does not F around. Their Nagila Pale Ale does not mess around. A hint of hops finishes off this smooth, aromatic pour. Oh yeah this os good. Now onto the IPA. Home run! Great hoppy flavor and aroma but not a bitter finish. I'm afraid this beer may sneak up on me...after going down sooooo smooth. I could drink this all day.
Menu (did not try) offers something for everyone. Pub starters of wings and skins with pizza, sandwich and hearty meat offerings. I really wanted to try the Mac & Cheese bit I was here for the beer and needed nothing else to weight me down.
With a lunch and happy hour visit, Yaletown Brewing Company is all around good. I look forward to my next visit and thanks for the good brew. -

Beer and Brewery Review...
Got a tip from the local booze store on Robson St. that this was a good spot to try some local beer at the source. My predilection for brewery stops on vacation is now well ingrained in both family and friends so as to make this an easy stop on the tourist itinerary.
Setting was very much like a Rock Bottom Brewery in the states so take that for what you will.
There is a small brewing facility behind glass at the back of the building separating the bar from, yes, a liquor store? What's up with that I'm not sure but there is no physical thruway just a visual connection.
The brewery is not an amazing setup but pretty cool display of the process. Couldn't get the specifics out of the bartender but looked like a 5 or 10 barrel system and no bottling or canning just on premise draught/kegs/growlers.
Beer selection would be considered Classic in my book nothing outrageous and every beer well within the normal tasting range of the style.
I skipped the traditional Canadian flavorless piss beers and went straight for the IPA and seasonal ESB which were both well balanced hop forward beers that would standup favorably with most contemporary American Craft Brewereries. I finished with a nice Nut Brown Ale that was round and filling but I would guess weighed in more like a session beer.
I was dissapointed that the list didn't include ABV nor did the bartender seem to think that any of them varied much from the diplomatic 5.0% Based on the three beers I tried I would disagree, but can't be sure without a heads-up from the brewer or someone familiar with the beers.
There is a cask tapped every Thursday-ish that sounded interesting but that was not in the cards this trip. The bartenders and waitresses were able to make some suggestions on other breweries and local taphouses that would specialize in Vancouver beers so that was also a positive to check out on further outings in B.C. -

3 stars all around for this place. I have never had a BAD experience at Yaletown Brewery and never a GREAT one either. It's always just a decent place to come for a decent meal, decently priced, and decent drinks.
They have a small, wrap around patio that can be nice to sit on during the warmer months. Their local-beer selection is pretty awesome, and they make a mean pulled-pork sandwich. Service can be a bit slow when busy (which is often). -
Review from Kelsey F.
I was visiting Vancouver with a couple of friends, and we were trying to find a bar to watch the Canucks game. We wandered into Yaletown because there were tons of young people and what seemed like a fun crowd.
We were certainly right! I'm so glad we found YBC. The beers were delicious, and so was the food!! We ended up staying until closing.
The people were fun, the music was good! Next time I go to Vancouver, I'm definitely going to come back for a couple GREAT pints! -

My favorite place to start the night! relaxed atmosphere with the lack of the yaletown 'yuppiness'.
Great food, especially the wings. honestly some of the best ive had. highly recommend the curry mumbai wings. sooo good.
Staff is great, always have a great time here, no matter the occassion.
Pub is set up and has music like what you would expect from a 'movie style' pub/bar. -
Review from Donna R.
We should have heeded warning from some of the other reviewers. Servers acted as if they were bothered by customers being there. Our first was just getting off and seemed truly put out, the second a little more friendly, but certainly not attentive.
The food, fair at best. Onion rings: mainly breading, burger: "nothing to write home about" as my husband put it, and the Karachi bowl, had good crisp vegetables, but the curry and cucumber raita lacked spice and flavor. As well, a 1/2 oz side of BBQ sauce to cover some of the breading was an additional cost and it tasted terrible.
Oh well, you can't win them all! -
Review from Ben C.
This place is washed up. I know it enjoyed it's success in the late 90s and into the millenium but that's just it - it's been trying to ride that sucess for the last 5+ years and has declined into a boring bar, with snotty service and even worse barenders.
You wouldn't catch me in here unless I was hosting "Canada's rudest barkeeps". Why would anyone come to this bar with all the other offerings in Yaletown alone.
There is nothing on the menu you can't get elsewhere, the drinks are up to par but the servers will let you know that they are doing you a big favour by putting up with you. Every bartender here acts like they own the joint and the servers must have a very flattering mirror at home. Huney, your stunning beauty isn't going to distract me from needing to tell you my order three times.
There is nothing redeeming about this bar (the restaurant is ok though) and I leave thinking "ack, never again". -

I came by on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The patio is great to people watch and have a few glasses of bear. I live their foamy dark beer which goes down very smoothly... I also tried the featured beer which was the cranberry wheat? The color of it was pretty and everyone seemed to be having one! The berry flavor is subtle than its color and is an interesting optionto try. But I think I will stay with the dark beer.. Altered Hawaiian pizza was good, not the overtly sweet Hawaiian one you order to go in the chain restaurant. The subtle jelapino flavors nicely with ham and bits of pineapple. The chicken burger was a bit burnt. I think I should have ordered the chicken breast one next time!
The service was great, fast, friendly, and not pretentious. -

Came here with a friend post-sunbathing, and since I've had my wisdom teeth out recently, all I can eat are soft foods. So I opted for the Salmon Chowder and was hoping for something along the lines of the delish Seafood Chowder at Burgoo. I was disappointed - too salty for my taste and the salmon had the taste and texture of canned fish. Not pleasant.
At least my beer was ok. No complaints about service, but nothing outstanding. I won't be aching to come back when there are so many other better options for a casual meal in Yaletown. -

I came here for a birthday party.
We had 30 people in a reserved area. We had 2 servers. I don't recall our drinks being tended to after they first came out and our servers had a sour disposition - not friendly at all!! My meal was good, and I was looking forward to the chocolate brownie dessert I ordered expecting a nice sized fresh, warm, chocolaty and gooey finish for my meal... In place, not only was the brownie very small, but also came cold and not so fresh with a small bit of icecream. There was a magician who came through to entertain guests and he was really great.
Perhaps on a different night with different servers this place may be better. -
Review from Erik M.
Yaletown Brewing is where some friends and I lucked into some spots to watch the disappointing game 7 of the Stanley Cup final, and it turned out to be a pretty good spot for the game, and waiting out the craziness and crowds afterwards.
I've had Mark James beer several times at the Whistler Brewhouse, and I'm pretty sure I've been in the Yaletown location before, but it was part of a big night out and I can't be sure. It's decent beer, and the Pale Ale was what I settled on to get me through the game.
The menu is rather ambitious for a pub, featuring a number of Asian inspired dishes. During the game we noshed on wings, calamari, fries, and other appetizers, and after the game we had a variety of sandwiches and salads. With the exception of the excellent calamari, which was tender and delicious, the food was just kind of... there.
However, the service was commendable, even at the peak of the crowds early in the game when everyone wanted food and drink. Our waitress generally arrived before we got to the bottom of our glasses and was friendly and efficient despite the number of people competing for her attention.
For the game, the atmosphere was great, with plenty of TVs and the sound just loud enough to hear what was going while allowing the crowd to get into it and make their voices heard. But as soon as the game was over, the DJ started spinning a terrible mix of 80s and 90s music at a volume that drove dejected patrons out the door and up the street. Or maybe everyone was headed up to Homer and Georgia to see what all the hubbub was about. Regardless, it went from general crowd/game noise to tinnitus inducing levels at the flip of a switch, and it seemed to get progressively louder through the night.
I was initially leaning more towards a 2 star rating, but in retrospect we hit it during an exceptional moment and under different circumstances I can see them being a 3, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now and see if a future visit proves me wrong. -

Hit and miss.
I've been here a few times now and the first time the food was average. The service? Appalling. Granted, we were a large group and I did feel a sense of pity for the waitress but when trying to process a bill for 18 people, things are bound to get messy. The synopsis? We over paid, she said we underpaid, the bouncers from the lounge side bullied us....only to find out that OOPS!! The waitress was wrong.
Second time, walked in, grabbed drinks, left. Can't really go wrong there.
Third time...Game 5! Canucks vs San Jose! Service was pretty good, food was slow, but it was really packed so no shock there. My meal and that of my boyfriend was delicious!! My friends
and other people around us? Their food was terrible.
They need to make up my mind! -
Review from Ninette C.
One Saturday evening, three of us were wandering around Yaletown looking for some food. We found Mainland and settled on Yaletown Brewing Company.
We went inside and asked for a table of 3. The hostess looked around and told us there was no tables. I thought that was weird because it looked only half-full? Anyways she told us we could do self seating in the pub which worked out because we got a nice big table outside and it was a really nice evening.
The menu looked pretty interesting. There was a number of burgers, pastas and protein dishes. I got the vegetarian mushroom bolognese. My boyfriend ordered the 3-cheese mac and cheese with bacon (which I was also eyeing) and our friend ordered a beef pizza. The boys ordered some IPAs.
When our food arrived, the guys both questioned if my dish was really vegetarian. I said the title of the dish seemed to make that clear, but it was funny because they do manage to make the mushrooms look like meat! One of the main reasons I ordered it though was because I've never had bolognese since its usually meat! My dish tasted good and was unique, so I was pretty happy with that. My only criticism is that the sauce was so strong, I couldn't taste the supposed white truffle oil. Somehow, I feel like truffle oil and tomato sauce just don't really mix!
My boyfriend enjoyed his mac and cheese and our friend didn't like his beef pizza.
The atmosphere of this place is pretty chill and exactly what we were looking for. Service was a little slow, but nothing worth complaining about. The prices seemed a wee-bit higher, but I've learned that everything is expensive in Vancouver, so I guess for Vancouver, they were about on-par.
All in all, we had a good casual dinner. Above average pub food. Two out of 3 (and the only two I tasted) dishes were good so it was a good kick-off to our evening!
