Best Wings in Vancouver - 2012

Ok, let's add this to the wing reviews for the city...

I had my first couple of orders of wings tonight at Yagger's...Baha and Jerk.

At first somewhat disappointed about the lack of a typical buffalo hot wing...the Baha wing is actually a sambal citrus wing that somewhat tastes like a buffalo except might I say...better? Ugh...I'm sorry I feel like I've just lost faith in my god and all of a sudden evolution seems possible...well...maybe it is...maybe wings are getting better.

The Jerk...different than any other jerk I've ever had and I loved it. Though maybe I was accidentally given the wrong flavour...this tasted more like a giner garlic wing or something...anyway = AWESOME.

I really liked the wings here. I will be coming back often.

Yagger's, I deem thee Best Wings in Vancouver - 2012 and I eat a lot of wings.

Well at least you're in the running. I don't think anyone will beat you...

    Serious!

5 stars for wings, not rating anything else at this point.

I've been here on several occasions and have to say - it's surprisingly good for a casual pub-style place. I had a groupon that was expiring which prompted the recent visit. The one thing that really impressed us was how good the music was. We're rock 'n rollers at heart and they were playing all of our favourites.

We got a pitcher of Lighthouse Amber and my husband ordered the Bison burger. I decided to throw caution to the wind and order their fajitas which were on a special menu for May. Once again, we were impressed with the quality of our food for this casual spot. Also our server was really cool - friendly and relaxed but took good care of us.

I've been to a couple of birthday parties in the back and it's a great place for a group to have their own space and get some decent food and drinks. They don't charge to book the room but you do have to order food. I also recall being here and getting martinis at a great price. Must have been one of their daily specials.

For us it's one quick bus ride from home and makes for an inexpensive place to meet up with friends for a casual evening.

Because my friend had the most delicious prime rib while we were in Whistler a few days earlier, I spent almost ALL day researching for a decent place for prime rib. Finally found this place on yelp (again hardly any yelpers in Vancouver :( ), and since we decided to check out the chinese gardens, the walk to Yagger's wasn't that far. Perfect right!?

Not so much... My friend and I each ordered our food. I got myself a glass of wine and him a glass of beer. Iordered my prime rib and I believe he got the philly cheesesteak.
Well as we're enjoying our drinks, I see the waitress walk back with a menu in her hand. I start feeling anxious as she walks up to our table knowing she was there because of my order. And as she says, "I'm sorry, they didnt take out the prime rib this morning, you'll have to order something else", my heart melts. After researching forever i was seriously bummed.

So I wasn't that hungry yet, so I asked my friend if it was okay that we have a few drinks here and move to another spot since I was looking forward to prime rib for a few days now. And he was totally cool.

SO we stayed another hour with drinks. Drinks were great and I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant and bar. THe only thing that threw me off was the service of the waitress. When she found out we were only staying for a few drinks, we were pretty much nonexistent. Getting our second drinks took forever, and waiting for the check and paying took even longer.

I get it. If we only want drinks, why should the waitress focus on us really. But don't ignore us. We said we'd have a few drinks first. Other than that, I'm sure my experience would have been much different should they have had the prime rib available.

I don't come to Yagger's all that often, but it is usually an enjoyable experience when I do.

I was here last night for a friend's birthday gathering and was pleased to find out they still have Winter Ale on tap, so I ordered a pint of that. I shared the plate of deep fried pickles with Lex B. and my god - THEY WERE DELICIOUS. I wish I could eat these every day. The serving is HUGE, so if you order these, I recommend splitting them with a friend. They're quite rich as well.

I also ordered a Mini Mac n Cheese. It looks tiny, but the amount is perfect. It definitely hit the spot. It has blue cheese in it, but I definitely tasted more cheddar flavour, so if you're not a blue cheese fan don't worry! They have a larger size of the Mac and Cheese as well.

One of the things I love about Yagger's is their cocktail list. It is large and everything has an amusing name. Like the pear cocktail named Pears Hilton. If I recall, it was quite sweet. There was a night that I was downing these like water.

The service is always super friendly. They don't take debit but they do take credit, and there is an ATM inside.

I'll be back to eat the shit out of those pickles.

Where the heck did this place come from?

A nice guy from work is moving away, so some of the co-workers arranged for a goodbye party for him, and this is where they picked...  I had to look it up on Google Maps because I had never heard of the place... and then like always with that kind of place... I checked out my fellow Yelpers reviews to see what I was in for.   I was quite surprised to see that it was a pub... and getting great reviews for food.

So... anxiously awaiting... the day finally came up, and me and the wife went in to say goodbye, and to check out the food (she doesn't drink any more... some sort of allergy, + taking seasonal allergy medicines... so drinking is pretty much out for her). and drink.

I had a gin and tonic (tanqueray please... none of that Bombay stuff)...  the tonic was...  like most bars...  not so tonicy.   Kind of messed up the taste of the gin.  Oh well...   food time came around... I had the Baha Spice wings, and she had the maple BBQ ones.   Hers tasted very much like a honey BBQ...  just a slight hint of maple in there... but they were good.   Mine...  YUM YUM!  How to describe...  (others have tried in their words here... so I'll use mine).   Kind of like a buffalo wing mixed with a jerk one with a splash of lime.   Was quite a nice taste...  had some good heat to it (the wife tried one... took a few bites of it and yelped out "karai!").

I think I'll have to come back on another and give them a few more tries at other food than just the wings!

So, I did go back again, for the Bellini. And what do you know, their machine was down AGAIN! They said their machine parts were actually recalled ... OK, that doesn't sound encouraging at all. I guess I'll just go elsewhere for it.

So instead I had one of their martinis, which were on special on Thursday night for $6.75, which is totally worth it since it's $9 all the other days of the week.

I had the Pears Hilton, and it was delicious. I think it was also sneaky too because I had one and I was feeling it pretty fast afterward.

We didn't stay long this time because there was this super drunk guy who was being creepy/bothering the people at the bar.

Don't judge this place from the outside (as I did at first). Great food, great atmosphere. Not a bar so much more like a neighborhood bistro with drinks.

We had great meals and we are picky eaters. Way above average food quality prepared fresh and reasonable prices, hard to find this in Vancouver. Yummm.

A sports bar that takes reservations on Game Night?????? It's my kind of place! Walking by the front, you may think that this might be a dinky little joint, but I kid you not, the interior is nice, tonnes of TVs, lots of bar top tables and a great experience and food that will make you coming back.

Throughout the night, our group just kept ordering plates to share, starting off with the 1st period of the game -  Not so Blue Mac and Cheese that seemed incredibly enticing and I was pretty excited to try it. To my surprise however, I had to say that it actually disappointed (and you're wondering why I've rated this place 5 stars!). It was pretty watery, and had a few bits of tomato and onion. I had expected more of a cheesy baked gooey texture, with bread crumbs or something like that on top. So maybe shame on me on having an expectation, but this one did not meet my ultimate Mac and cheese standards. It wasn't bad, just missed the mark.

2nd period - ordered 1 pound of organic chicken wings in which the waitress recommended to mix the baja sauce and honey glazed (can't remember)... I didn't know you can mix and match but it was the most popular and boy did it smell super delicious. The plate came out with approx 8 - 10 wings... ALL wings, no drums. The meat was juicy (like the guy from the Boston Pizza commercial describing his wings), and fully coated with the different spices and flavours. It is on sale for $6 from 4 - 8pm, and definitely worth getting.

3rd period - I've been eyeing the duck confit club sandwich on sour dough bread. OMG - one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I opted for the salad and fries on the side. The duck confit was juicy, tender, and addictive. It tasted like peking duck in a chinese restaurant and had cranberry mayo, brie, bacon with 3 pieces of bread. I felt like I was in the middle of  a meal that had the best of all worlds - Asian, Traditional pub, sports bar, great service.. really bonus bonus bonus points in my books.

It looked like there were 10 - 15 tables along the long corridor of the pub, with one waitress who somehow managed to take care of everyone in a timely manner. Sure sometimes the drinks took a bit of time and we would have to wait until she had a free moment, but boy was I impressed.

I shouldn't be sharing all these goods because you may be taking my table at the next canucks game but Yaggers deserves to be recognized.

You like Yaggers? 4.50 / shot all day, every day.

A sports bar that takes reservations during game nights!! Love this place, and don't let the outside deceive you. It actually has a decent atmosphere here.

We had a large group and they sat us at the bar top tables. There's TVs all around, so everyone had a good view for the game.

On Tuesdays they have wings specials from 4-8pm for $6 a pound. I like how they had so many flavours-maple BBQ, baha spice, tandoori rub, jagermeister glazed, honey ginger, wasabi sesame, and Caribbean jerk. We tried all of them! Organic chicken wings DO taste better. My favourite flavours were the wasabi sesame and the honey ginger (had actual grated ginger.)

Great atmosphere, even better service. Food was a bit slow, but understandable since it was a full house.

Will definitely be back to try out their duck confit sandwich!

Canucks vs. Blackhawks game 7. So you can pretty much expect every pub in the city to be packed, and Yagger's was no exception. Lucky for me, one of my friends made a reservation so all we had to do was show up and drink! And drink we did!

Not only was it super fun to be surrounded by so many hardcore fans in their jerseys singing "Oh Canada" before the game started, but the bar had a promotion on and each table had the name of one of the Canucks on it. If you were drinking a certain beer (I think it was Granville Island or something, but I don't drink beer so who knows?) and the player who's name was on your table either scored a goal or got into a fight, you would get a pitcher of that beer for FREE! Lucky for us, we were seated at Burrows table, and he scored twice! That meant two pitchers of beer for my friends!

I had my standard rum and diet coke, and a veggie panini with subbed in yam fries. The yam fries were not my favourite, but the panini was pretty tasty, and the BF's mac and cheese was AMAZING! I am so ordering that next time, especially now that I know we will be back for the game between the Canucks and the Predators.

Warning - this review is biased. I spent St Patrick's day night here not by choice but by convenience. After walking up and down Vancouver Downtown and crossing the Burrard Bridge and back in half a day, I could barely muster the strength to walk any further than Yagger's, which is literally next door to my Ramada. St Patrick's Day also creates a bond between a patron and a restaurant, anecdotal evidence suggests.

This area of Downtown isn't exactly your bustling center of night life - it's a bit run-down as a matter of fact. And it was quite a pleasant surprise as soon as you walk into this bar. On St Patrick's night the bar is packed. Perusing the menu reveals more surprises: they have unusual items like bison reuben sandwich and duck confit sandwich, among others, all at a very reasonable price (less than C$10). I tried both (not on the same visit, I should add), and they were both excellent.

The bison reuben also features a spicy dijon sauce. I thought it was wasabi, given the omnipresence of Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, till the friendly (and uber cute) waitress informed me of what had just bit my nostril.

The kitchen opens till pretty late, a stark contrast to most other restaurants in the same area. The crowd is chill and friendly as well, like most Canadians.  Service was quick if a bit aloof - but that's probably because I'm too used to the staff wearing a fake smile in most restaurants of similar standards.

In my scientific way of looking at things, this is as good as it gets.

Why oh why has it taken me so long to review Yaggers? I've spent hours upon hours at this place, and I've rented out the back room on a few occasions to hold private functions (it's FREE!). The staff here are wicked, as is the food. They seriously have some of the best bar food in the city, and at great prices to boot. I'm talkin' ahi tuna sandwiches and "red neck sushi" (with pulled pork) -hardly stuff you'd ever find at another bar. Their drink selection is also pretty fab, and I've enjoyed a "Strongberg" (Strongbow with bellini mix -a guilty pleasure, to be sure) on more than a few occasions.

Although it can get busy sometimes, in general you can pretty much count on being able to find a seat in this place. Yaggers feels young and cool, yet not "trendy" in the least. It's definitely a place where people become regulars. In fact, I know a guy who has a stool "reserved" for him at the bar -they're cool like that here.

If I were ever to own a bar, I would want it to be just like Yaggers. Great food. Great drinks. Great vibe. No attitude. This place gets 5 stars, hands down.

A place to just chill, grab a drink and maybe something to eat on a late night. It has a great sports bar atmosphere when you are in here! I enjoy the friendly drunk people who are happy to see new people, and the bartender is cute too :P

The service here is one of my faovurite places, they are nice and VERY attentive with their customers. I am very appreciative of the place if the service is extravagant!

I saw that the place is decorated in a lot of Yagger bottles. It was pretty interesting and a new touch bars. I enjoy their amazing decorations of the bar it is filled so a nostalgia old styled pac-man game machine in the corner, and there was a pool table. It was a great place. I can say that this is a gem in Vancouver, before it get popular!

I will go back here with my friends later on!!

First off, I'm a little biased, with Yaggers.  Have been  a fan of Yaggers for a long time and have come to know the owners pretty well.  Yes, they even work there, and sometimes even take dates and eat at their own bar on a Friday and Saturday night.

Yaggers is an anomoly in terms of restaurants in downtown Vancouver.  It' small restaurant with a sports bar feel near the edge of the downtown Eastside, but with 4 Star Food Quality at 2 Star Prices.  Not just good food, but wonderful inspired creations.

Their lastest edition that I must recommend - Red Neck Sushi.  Yes, they have brought tradional Japanese food and fused with with American barbeque.  Guy Fiori, where are you?

The Red Neck Sushi is pulled pork wrapped in a tradional Japanese roll, and I believe its fried for a crunch.  I forgot the other ingredints, but on my list of 'must have' appetizer delights.

If you do this, add a regular helping of their Jamaican spiced hot wings, and the ultimate poutine you will have anywhere in Vancouver.

Mac and Cheese? Try their Mac and Not So Blue Cheese.

Every time I come here with a friend, they are often surprised that a 'little place like this' can have such good food.

Yeah, and they have Jagermeister to wash it all down.

We stopped in here for a quick bite on a Tuesday afternoon. I had the mixed green salad with cranberries and goat cheese, boyfriend had the wings and his sister had the onion rings. The bf said they were the best wings hes ever eaten and I wasn't going to argue because they were pretty good! The onion rings were good too and I hate onions! But hey, deep fry anything and its bound to be delicious right? Bar staff was awesome and attentive. If we lived around there it would probably be our go-to bar! Yaggers...COME TO THE STATES!!!!!!!!

I don't know how helpful my review is going to be because of all the times I've been here i have never once tried the food. Okay, i had a bite of a friend's fries but i was pretty smashed already and not at all hungry, so i can't really comment on it...

But speaking of getting smashed, this is a great place to do if you're looking for lots of variety on a budget! The have a ridiculously awesome selection of 2oz. martinis under ten bucks on the menu, and the drunker you get the more excited you'll be about the names. I usually drink the Princess Leia, which is great since it gives me a segway into talking about Star Wars. Nicole F. and i once got very, VERY excited about the Pears Hilton. We just kept saying the name again and again and again. I don't THINK i threw up that night, but it was probably a close call.

A buddy once rented their back room for his birthday party, and the staff were SO NICE and SO TOLERANT of our drunk party bullshit. There was table dancing galore (on that note: be careful because the tables in the back are a bit rickety) and at the end of the night the birthday boy pulled out a bottle of tequila he was given as a gift and proceeded to drink it. Our waitress firmly but politely told us drinking outside liquor was not allowed. We tipped her really well.

Dropped in here on Sunday night after we had been out all day. narrow bar that is a bit out of the way so was fairly free of tourists. Great to be able to go to a bar that feels like a bar. I know that may sound strange but in a city full of lounges it can sometimes be hard to find one.

Just want to give a big shout out to my favourite Canadian of all time who I had the pleasure of running into outside the bar. A friend approached a group smoking a joint outside and asked if they had any extra in a friendly manner. The tirade that was given back was something to behold. It included the following lines:

Him: "f#$k off back to where you are from",
    Us: "we live here",
Him: "then why do you speak so funny",
    Us: "we are Australian"
Him: "why don't you f#@k of back there then.

Ahh if only this fine specimen of Canadian patriotism could be there at the airport to greet arriving tourists. He is a blip on a radar of what I have found to be a city of some of the most friendly and open people I have met.

Back to Jagger's, a good place to grab a couple of drinks in a unpretentious laid back atmosphere.

Yagger's is a mostly overlooked like little pub just north of Gastown. It's in an area that is off and on hot due to restaurant traffic but sometimes it seems like the lone pub on Pender between, say, Malone's and Honey. Personally i'd rather go to Yagger's over either of them anyway.

Yagger's downfall is probably its size. I don't mind it being a little unknown because I can bring a few people and have no problem finding a seat. Later on more than, say, 5 might have trouble. It's a little run by the regulars in that way as well. Also, I've had the name put people off thinking it's too 'college' but it's actually quite a nice and classy little place.

What sets it apart is it's selections of interesting mixed drinks. For a slightly higher price they seem to go out of their way to find interesting liquors to make cool martinis and cocktails. they also have a pretty solid selection off beers available for those avoiding cocktails.

If you're out after work (I used to go after school downtown) or looking for a chill, small out of the way late night place that still has a pretty rambunctious crowd, I'd suggest checking out Yagger's.

Cold Jager on tap. The friendliest bar staff around. And a plaque on one of the tables to honour the frequent visits by staff of our company. What's not to love. Yaggers has daily specials and interesting menu items to suit a variety of tastes. The cocktail and martini list is fun, the music is good, and the bartenders are pros at pouring a perfect shot. As pro as we are at drinking them.

A great place to watch a hockey game, or hang out after work, and a lounge at the back of the restaurant can be booked for special events.

Hole in the walls and dive bars are a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you can potentially find a hidden gem filled with a lot of character. You could also be part of a tight knit community and break free from your run-of-the-mill bar or restaurant chain. On the other, you can walk in there and quickly realize why not so many people know about the spot.

Last weekend, I attended a friend's going away party/dinner here at Yagger's. The location is definitely a little out of the way and in kind of a grimy part of downtown. Inside, it's small, but really clean and nice. The UFC fight was going on, so there was quite a few people in the restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt. I ended up ordering the fajitas, which were good, but considering the $17 price, you didn't get a lot food. The good thing about Yagger's were the drink specials. On a Saturday night, you can get a nice discount on the bar's namesake drink, Jaegar. I think Jaegar bombs were only $6. Definitely could be a cheaper way to pre-game before hitting a club.

Overall, the experience was pleasant. I gave it 3 stars, but that is not a negative thing. It's just that the food, drinks and ambiance weren't so outstanding that I'd go out of my way to make another trip there. But if I were invited back by someone else, I wouldn't turn it down.

Had a few lunches here over the past several months. Delicious and often unconventional food (e.g. linguini with chorizo meatballs), and a nice selection of beer.  Friendly and attentive staff.

Last time I went was Saint Paddy's, and had the Irish stew with goat cheese-stuffed dumplings.  Unbelievably good.  The sign outside said it was the chef's special for the day.  I hope they might consider it as a permanent menu item.

Look forward to checking the place out in the evening sometime.

This used to be my local pub when I worked around the corner. I went often and was never disappointed. The service is friendly, the food is good, and the cocktails are scrumptious! Try my favourite: the "Pears Hilton", a refreshing pear vodka combination, or indulge in a more traditional Cosmopolitan, which they make to perfection.

Yagger's is a small gastropub with a jovial crowd. Sometimes it can seem like a bit of a "boys club" especially up the back towards the bar area, but this has never bothered me. It's casual, fun, and an easy place to come for a drink and a snack or a full-blown lunch or dinner. I would recommend their fries and curry and a friend of mine has had their Caesar salad before and said it was good too.

The name sounds rowdy to me (I guess I'm thinking Jägermeister), so I was surprised when my cousin (a thirty-something techie wizard) suggested we meet here for a drink to catch up. The crowd was a lot more like him than like the Jager-bombing college jocks I'd expected.

They have a fabulous drink menu that convinced me (usually I'm a beer/wine girl) to go for a martini. And they're not just girlie martinis full of juice, either. Men can feel tough while sipping a killer rye-based Manhattan.

It's a small venue and gets lively when it's packed (which is often), so it's a fun choice for drinks if you are looking for a space with some life.

Ugh, Jagermeister is vile.  Were I a God fearing man I'd believe this thick liquid courses through the veins of Satan Himself.  Fortunately I am not and I merely believe that this is the stuff high school hangovers are made of.  I personally would never align my bar with this liquer, but someone did, it's done, now lets delve.

The bar is located down on Pender Street, is long and narrow with ample seating.  There is a couch section by the front window which makes this bar worth visiting.  True to their name they have a mass Jagermeister dispenser behind the bar, and judging by the level in the bottles, I'd say it pays for itself.

They serve food here, inexpensive and filling.  I rarely find myself in that neighborhood, but when in the vicinity Yagger's is a fine place to grab a drink.  Just keep their namesake away.

    Yagger's, you've won my heart.

My amigos and I wandered in here as we were searching for a place to eat and finish watching the Canucks game.  Fresh from a terrible service experience elsewhere we were totally floored by how awesome our service at Yagger's was.  Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our questions about the menu.  We asked for some recommendations for us vegetarians and she didn't steer us wrong with the ricotta and asparagus ravioli.  Delish!

I'll be back to try other dishes and to bask in the warm glow of an establishment that appreciates the business.  Plus, I really want to gather a group together to utilize the sweet little back room they've got!

The only thing that I found remarkable and awesome was that I could find a Pittsburgh-style sandwich here... though I guess it makes sense because Jaeger is probably the official drink of Pittsburgh. Being a fan of Pittsburgh style sandwiches (coleslaw and french fries in the sandwich with the rest of the goodies) I couldn't give them a poor review. Though I found the service to be SLOW, our waitress was friendly but oh-my-god it took FOREVER!

Though if you're looking for something unique to eat in Vancouver, I suggest stopping in at lunch time or even for a late lunch and doing the Pittsburgh style sandwich.

Great drinks, Great music, great poutine.

I went to school nearby and spent a lot of fun nights in that place.  Much friendlier vibe than The Cambie or Malone's.

The bartenders were really cool too and the waitresses were attractive.

I will be checking it out often during the Olympics

maybe i shouldnt be so tough on em...considering we went during the closing ceremonies...we just won gold for mens hockey...blah blah blah.. but even on real packed nights elsewhere, ive had way better service!!

to start..i walk to the door to get greeted by two big dudes blocking the door, they didnt say hi or ask if i was here to meet anyone. but i told them i was, so they unblock the door and just say "all the way to the very back". and reblock the door. (not like there was a huge crowd trying to get in or anything)

the back room is a huge open space that is usually saved for bigger parties which is nice...and also nice that they were taking reservations on a night like this.  my friends told me that when they arrived, it was just a bunch of chairs set up, and the tables were shoved to the sides. they wanted to eat but the employees said that they can do whatever they wanted with the seating but it will be a tight fit. so they moved it around and set up two tables with chairs (which in the end seated everyone fine)....did i mention no employees offered to help?

finally, the waitress comes in to take the orders..i just got there so i wasn't ready, she says no problem, she will get it later.  well, LATER meant like...30 or 40 mins later after everyone got their food (and finished eating)!! i kept trying to flag her down or get eye contact with her...she never even looked at me!! then i told another friend who came AFTER me who got to order BEFORE me to let her know i wanted to order...she goes to another friend beside me, says something to him..then pivots and runs outta there. WTF?!??!  i was really getting pissed by now!

when i finally get her attention (waving my arms wildly!!), she looks at me and points her index finger basically stating 'wait a sec'... i wouldnt normally mind, but seriously lady, i have been waiting way longer than a sec already! *grumble grumble*  she walks over to me and another friend who is also waiting to order and just looks at us.
    "uhm...can we order something now?"
"oh...ok, but i need a credit card, don't worry, nothing will be charged until you ask"
so i whip out my amex and give her our orders.
i got the free range chicken panini w/ yam fries...he got a side of fries and calamari.
*note* the food menu actually looked very decent.  great range of different foods...and some 'healthier' options like salads, seafood dishes and FREE RANGE wings and my chicken panini.  i tried a friends poutine which was quite yummy..but their crab dip tasted almost more tuna-ish than crab*

my food was quite good... crispy toasted panini..chicken wasn't dry..yam fries were good, a little on the burnt side..but i am one of those who likes their fries a little crispy at times.
downside, my friend never ended up getting his calamari (damn! i was lookin forward to trying that!)... when we mentioned it, all she says is "oops! i sent it to the wrong table". we asked her to just take it off the bill.  she didnt even apologize.

at the end of the night, i just wanted to get outta there...so when it came to bill time, she comes back....(after another extended wait) and gives me back my card and says "oh, we don't take amex, just visa and mc".  WTF?!??! and you couldn't say this when i first GAVE you the card?!??! ARGH?!?! i wanted to drop kick her right there!!
instead, i go to retrieve my mc..and turn around to see that she has already left. didn't even bother to wait for me to give her my other card...WTF?!??!?!

my friend advised me to go find her instead of waiting another 30 mins when she would return..so i look for her...and go pay up front.
as she is ringing it through, she says this to me "oh! this day is almost over!" trying to get some sympathy from me..i just look at her, and nod. i couldn't even crack a sorrow smile at her.  i think she got the hint.  but as i was signing my receipt, i felt a little sorry and wished her a good night and thanked her. (damn us canadians! always feeling sorry aren't we??? lol)

horrible horrible horrible service.... there was an automatic 17% gratuity charge to the bill....i wouldnt mind, on a night like this, but id expect at least half decent service....but what i got was crap. total and utter crap..i get better service at fast food joints..and i dont even need to tip em there.

am i being to hard on considering the circumstances??...
    i think not.

Where do I begin? This is a great atmosphere to unwind--the music selection is great. I think the food here is really under rated. It's inexpensive and always delicious. I've yet to try something I didn't love. My favorite is the Not-so-Blue Mac&Cheese served with ciabatta toast on the side, yum! Yam fries are my favorite bar snack. They have pretty good drink specials--$6.00 martinis on Fridays. Be sure to try the Oprah and the Caramel Apple. This place is a great hangout.
