This place was not bad. It was pretty busy on a Friday night so it was kinda hard to find a good table but we finally did. Service wasnt bad and they had a good drink special so I was happy. There was some sort of live DJ who was mostly a girl playing music off her itunes/ipod. it wasnt bad music, and went with the mood. plus she took requests so we were able to get some songs we wanted played.
overall i would definatly go here again, maybe a bit earlier in the night. -

Dive bar, and not like in a good way.
Spotty service, decent food, not the friendliest bar in town..... Options in Country Hills are pretty limited, but you are better off hitting up BP or a chain bar for food and drink and ambience. -

Typical pub, food is below average.
Our server was very attentive, quite quick. Food was okay, fairly small servings. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken was half the size of the bun. Frustrating. My boyfriend ordered beef on a bun and it was literally 2 or 3 slices of meat, where it's usually about 3/4" thick, this was nothing in comparison and a huge bread to meat ratio. The dip (jus) was very very salty.
Wood chips were pretty good, but didn't serve enough to make it worth the $1 surcharge to order instead of plain fries.
They have a happy hour and different specials, might be okay under those terms. The $12-17 for a plate is a bit high for what they're offering.
For games/ufc, the tvs are quite small. They have 1 big projection, and the rest were all about 30"-37", the size of the place needs bigger tvs. -

Great neighborhood pub with a nice patio!
Cheap food specials... But you get what you pay for. Burgers are good.
Spicy Caesars, cold beer, friendly staff! -

Friday night I headed over to Woody's to meet up with some people. I had never been and was quite surprised to see how big and spacious it is. The doorman was a real sweetheart so things were off to a good start.
The music was awesome until about midnight when they switched to exclusively playing country music. What's up with that?!?!?
The service was good - our server was very attentive.
The crowd - hmmm... how do I sum up this crowd? The crowd was very.... odd. It was mostly guys, some of who spent the night staring (in a creepy 'stalking their prey' kinda way) at the handful of women who were there. Aside from the creepy dudes, there were A LOT of young guys. Right, and then there was the group of 8 guys who walked in alluding to the famous SNL skit 'dick in a box' by wearing boxes on their...well.. you get the picture. Like I said, very very odd crowd.
Overall, the night was fine because of the good music (again, which was only 'good' until midnight), pretty good food and good service.
Would I head back to Woody's in the near future however? Outlook not so good. -

Woody's may be a good neighbourhood pub, with establishments across the city, but that doesn't mean I like going here.
My beef with Woody's comes from the dirty old men that frequent the place. As a younger girl out with a couple of other younger girlfriends, it is not uncommon to be hit on, gawked at, or even touched by some old pervert who has had one too many to drink. I find that Woody's has more of these people than any other pub in the city, which makes it a no go for me.
I suppose the prices are alright and the food is fine, but that's not enough to make me want to go here anymore. Even if I was with a giant, heavy-weight champion dude I still wouldn't want to go. It's dirty and dingy and full of nasty older men.
So sorry, Woody's, you need a new clientele to make me want to visit your establishment. -

I really like this pub. Great specials every night. I love the burgers, platters, and most everything on the menu.
