I'm not surprised that I am the first to review woodbine park.  With the volume of traffic that goes to the beaches, it has often amazed me at how many people don't realize that this venue is available right across the street from ashbridges bay.

The beauty of this park is that it is literally surrounded by trees, hills and a marsh making it almost invisible to the streets surrounding it (except for a small opening on coxwell (where there is free parking :)) )  The natural surroundings also create a great stage as the sound stays inside this natural enclosed arena but also dampens the noise to the surrounding homes and businesses.

I've visited here a couple of times for ribfests, blues concerts, you name it.  Most are free and family friendly!  The community does a good job of utilitizing this space in the summer to bring events to the beaches and if you have an opportunity to walk away from your volleyball game or your tanning sessions, walk into this nature theatre and see what event is playing...there is bound to be something every weekend in the summer.....

Peaceful retreat on a weekday morning, this rather large park north of the lakeshore is actually a bit hidden off the main drag, but it's a great place to chill with your kids and/or dogs. It's also a great retreat when the Beaches gets a little too crazy (esp. on weekends).
