Over the last few years I have eaten at Wonder Sushi many many times. Friday night I went once again for some all you can eat sushi. Wonder Sushi did not let me down, exceeding my expectations. On my most recent visit I found that since I had last visited the restaurant has been completely renovated and enlarged. The decor has been improved as well. Food was excellent as always. Love the Salmon Sushimi.

I attended Wonder Sushi on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch.  At the time of my 1pm arrival, the place was about 2/3 full.  The restaurant is fairly large, but is split into two rooms by a wall.  The larger room was completely full, but the smaller room was empty.  The smaller room is the one you enter when you walk in the door, so it was a bit disconcerting to hear a loud restaurant but see no patrons in sight upon entry!

Service: Despite being fairly busy, the servers were quick.  Wonder Sushi runs on a system wherein you mark down your selections on an ordering sheet, rather than giving your order to a server.  For this kind of restaurant, I think it's a superior method of order taking and kudos to Wonder for doing it this way.  Our food arrived quickly and without any missing orders.  The bill also arrived promptly when we asked for it.  I know that sounds like it should be normal, but it's not always a guaranteed thing at AYCE sushi joints.  All told, the service was efficient, if a bit cold, but definitely acceptable.

Food: At a busy AYCE restaurant, I'm not expecting top notch food.  Quantity over quality is the name of the game.  Still, the food was decent overall.  The fish was fresh, and the salmon on this day seemed quite good.  The egg sushi had the right amount of sweetness, and the chicken teriyaki was tender instead of being grilled into a charred, inedible rock.  The maki rolls were made with the proper amount of rice, instead of overloading it in an attempt to make you full.  However, the rice itself was undercooked as it more resembled firmer pellets instead of sushi rice.  Craftsmanship was sometimes a problem as well, as some rolls were falling apart and/or irregularly shaped while still on the serving plate.  The deep fried tofu and accompanying sauce were tasteless.

Overall, Wonder Sushi is a decent AYCE sushi restaurant.  There's nothing spectacular about it, and nothing horribly wrong either.  These types of restaurants are formulaic, and Wonder Sushi follows the formula to a T.

I have been here on multiple occasions and the sushi here is ok.  As far as London goes, this is one of the cheaper and better places to get all-you-can-eat sushi.  This branch just renovated a few month ago and expanded to twice the size.

One thing to remember is that there is already a 10% service charge and you pay less if you bring cash.

    Decent sushi..and plenty of it.
    2 ways:cheap...or stuffed for 20 bucks.
--Ask for a normal menu to save money-
(all you can eat is 20+per person...and has a 10% service charge??) WTF?
Am I supposed to tip, or what?
    Open 'til 10pm...fast service.
All you can eat includes soup/salad/soda/ice cream.

I just reviewed the Highbury location as well, so I'll just cut & paste as I really noticed no difference in food or service at both locations. This location is smaller so if you have a large group consider that. My love of sushi isn't very broad -- I can eat a california roll or the avocado/cucumber -- but I can say that what I've had here is good. There is enough options (beef teriyaki, tempura, noodles, soups, egg rolls to name a few) to fill your tummy if sushi doesn't appeal. The way you order and how it is served to you takes some getting used to, but that's part of the experience. You select dishes from a list and your choices come out in sporadic bursts. You pay for what you eat...anything left over is a surcharge to your bill, so don't order too much right away. Pace yourself...the servers definitely do.

All you can eat sushi is 'ok' at best, and limited to a precious few varieties. You're also more likely to end up filling up on tempura and other non- sushi things. Which is fine as far as it goes. But don't go thinking this is going to be the best sushi you've ever eaten. Not even close.
