Having this store across the street has been a live-saver on so many occasions. They have a great selection of cards, bridal, wedding & baby gifts, as well as a healthy selection of housewares and seasonal items. They round the store out with a decent number of smaller novelty items that are great gift additions.
One thing I especially like is that they source a lot of items from local craftspeople and companies and that if you are looking for something that they have run out of they will take your number and call you when they get more in stock. -

It surprises me that more people don't know about little 'ol "Newport Village" in Port Moody. When it was in it's first phase in the late '90's it was dubbed a "Little Whistler."
Wish On A Star fits in perfectly with the life of the village. Lots of great gifts for any occasion. Pet, guys, wedding, baby, bath, body and of course furnishings adorn this store.
The best part is that all of the gifts are wrapped with lovely scented potpourri, tissue and ribbons. If you buy a gift from here, it will likely be the one on the gift table that's admired while the recipient carefully opens and saves the wrapping to use again.
And if that wasn't enough, there's two love birds that live in a cage, chirping away while you admire all of the lovelies. -

Awesome little store! They have several sections with jewelry, fun items and themed sections (new baby, weddings, etc). The store also have a display that features local artists' jewelries which is a nice touch and makes it very local and community-oriented (which I love).
Staff are very very friendly and will definitely help with anything you need. Price on the items vary but is mostly fair.
PS: Last I visited, they also had a pet bird! It was a nice addition that makes it very homey, hope it's still around :) -

I love walking around this little shop whenever I am in Port Moody! It is an easy way to cheer yourself up and find a trinket or two. It is definitely great for unique and/or last minute gifts!

Like others have stated this store is a lifesaver when needing a cute, quick gift. A little pricey, like most stores in the area, but always have a great selection of housewarming gifts! The staff isn't super attentive in making sure you find what you need, unless you go out of your way to ask. But other than that a great little store!
