Review from Denise M.
This is my new favorite lash place! I had let my extensions go because of the cost to maintain them - Liv in San Francisco had raised the refill rate from $50 to $80 and they needed to be done every two to three weeks! I was spending a fair amount of time in Vancouver, so checked out yelp reviews and decided to try Wink. Ashandra gave me a glam set, for a super reasonable price, and I LOVE them. I think they only do black lashes, so you do look like your lashes are tinted, not totally natural, but without the clumps and messiness of mascara. They have all kinds of lengths and different amounts of curl, to get exactly the look you want.
I wear so little makeup now because I just wake up feeling prettier with these lashes.
I didn't realize until I came to Wink that getting lash extensions could be completely relaxing and not at all irritating. I could fall asleep while Ashandra works her magic, and the pads they use under your eyes are really comfortable. I can't live without my coffee, but I always wait until after my lash appointment, because coffee can make you twitch and make it more difficult to apply the lashes perfectly. One whole month later, with many of my lashes still there and looking fabulous, I had my first re-full with Ashandra last weekend. Afterwards I had even more lashes than my first full set. Ashandra is really skilled, because the lashes look great and stay attached really well. The bonus - they don't overcharge you. I haven't tried any of the other ladies, but I unconditionally recommend Ashandra! -

This is my favourite place for eyelash extensions.
I have been here at least 4 times for lash extensions and refills. I've had the Discovery Set plus the Maximum Refull done and I loved the results.
The staff is professional. The salon space is bright and clean and they wash their hands with soap and water before getting to work on your lashes. They also use gel pads (included with the service) to cover your lower lashes; this is not as sticky as the tape used in other salons so it doesn't hurt when it is taken off. The service never feels rushed and it seems as though they take their time to do a really good job. In fact, the lash extensions that I've gotten here lasted longer than they did when I had them done elsewhere.
Pricing is reasonable for the service and quality. While lash extensions can be done for less elsewhere, Wink is worth it. -

I came here for a total of three times because I purchased three Groupons for Discovery Sets of eyelash extensions. The one thing I have to say about this place is that all three of my visits have been really inconsistent - some great, and some disappointing.
I can't recall my very first visit as it was around a year ago, but I did come here twice within a week and a half recently so I remember my visits very clearly.
After I went for my first visit and read some reviews, I realized that I wasn't offered water or tea when I first arrived for my second visit even though while I was waiting for my appointment, another lady who came in for her appointment after me was offered water or tea, almost in my face. I had no idea what was going on. Did they forget that I was sitting right there and hadn't been offered a beverage? Ok. Anyways the lady who did my lashes was nice I guess, not very talkative which I'm fine with because sometimes I just like to close my eyes and relax. The pink blanket which was by the soft leather chair was also a nice, warm touch. The whole process took around an hour and the results were great. On me, the Discovery Set lasted around a week and a half to two weeks.
My third visit was a lot better. My boyfriend and I came in together - me for my Discovery Set again and him for the Men's R.E.M. Decleor Facial and Massage which I treated him to that day. Immediately after being offered water or tea when I checked in, I knew that I wasn't denied beverages my previous visit because I didn't book a more expensive treatment. They had just forgotten about me, even though I was sitting right there and the lady who walked in a few minutes after me was offered drinks. I was very disappointed about that.
The lady I got for my third visit was the nicest one I've had. She's a brunette but I forgot her name. She wasn't talkative either but was nicer than the lady I had my previous visit. She was very reassuring and helpful about maintaining my new extensions.
After my boyfriend came out of his facial and massage, he smelled like strawberry shortcake, his skin was baby soft, and his face was glowing! Wow was I jealous. He couldn't stop smiling and bragging about how relaxed he was. He said that his masseuse was very good and he was extremely happy with the service. He wants to go back again and highly recommends it for any men. This would be a great gift in the form of a gift card in my opinion.
The decor inside is very nice and girly, nothing to complain about. I only remember the nicest receptionist I had, I think her name's Amy.
One thing that also plays with the inconsistent experiences I've had here is that my very first visit I received a little package with an eyelash comb and some instructions on how to take care of new extensions. I didn't receive this package on my second and third visits. Why? No idea.
I think that upon booking, the receptionist should also let the client know that it's best not to wet new eyelash extensions for one to two days like I was told (only on my second visit too, not on my first or third) so that clients can book accordingly. I had no idea and headed off to an event right after my appointment with my new lashes which evidently meant that I had to wash off my makeup that night. I'm not sure if that water contact so soon will shorten the life of my extensions, but I wish I would've known so I could've booked my appointment when I knew I could go a couple of days without makeup.
Wink is also on a one-way street so the meter parallel parking is on both sides.
Pros: decor, quality of eyelash extensions, men's facial and massage, and friendly service sometimes
Cons: didn't get offered water or tea on only one of my visits, didn't receive proper instructions and eyelash comb second and third visits, and tricky parking
Overall: I haven't tried any other place for eyelash extensions so I do recommend Wink. The only thing is that I'd be weary of inconsistencies. And also try to book eyelash extension appointments on a day when you know you won't be wearing makeup for the next one or two days - they didn't tell me this while booking but oh well. -

I went into Wink and got my lashes done a few months back. After reading all of the good reviews on Yelp, I finally decided to give a try. I have done my lashes in Asia. So I kinda know what kind of style that I want and what to expect. So I told the girl what I was looking for, and she help me choose the Glam set. All I can tell you is I was so disappointed after I saw the finished look. I asked the girl again if she could help me to plant more so it looks fuller and thinker. But the girl refused it, and told me its already at its fullest, and she could not do more. :( But the set that I got from Asia was 100 times fuller and thicker. Should I just say she just does not have the skills. Anyways, I just thought its not worth the money at all. I think I will just wait until I find some place better or just wait until I go to Asia again. :(

I had the discovery lashes done last week. The discovery set is a more natural look.
The set lasted 1 week so far and I think it will probably last for a few more days. The lashes look natural and are comfortable. I've had lash extensions done before and these are good quality.
The staff were friendly, but it wasn't the best I've had. Overall a good place to do your lash extensions. I feel so pretty when I wake up in the morning. "Yes... it's ALLLL natural." =) -

I really love the eyelashes I had done. The girl did a lovely job, they are super comfortable and natural, but fancy enough to make me feel like I've been jazzed up a bit. They also gave great home care instructions. So far they look great and are lasting just fine. (Update: actually half of the lashes on my left eye fell out after 3 days. So not as good as I had thought)
However, I also had a set of Axxium gel nails (UV cure polish) and it has fared horribly. I had them done on Sunday, they started lifting at the tips on Monday, now on Wednesday 4 of my white tips have peeled off. It wasn't quite what I wanted in the first place too, as I had asked her to do the white tip wider so I would have more grow out time and I just like more defined tips. The whites are so skinny they look grown out already. Was my own fault for not checking more carefully, but I just got chatting and should have been watching what was going on.
Meh lash extensions, not good at all for nails I'm afraid. -

The blonde receptionist was rude, unfriendly and had attitude. She asked whether I would like water or tea I said water but I never got anything to drink. She completely forgot about it. Just like that. It was't a big deal so i didnt remind her. It was funny watching her trying to make herself look busy while she could at least get me that water! I waited in the area with nail polish bottles pilled up with no chair or couch to sit on. In such a small area with a rude woman in complete silence. She had no tact whatsoever. It was not pleasant. The receptionist never told me how long I would wait. It was extremely uncomfortable until the esthetician came out and i was brought inside. She did a lovely job with my eyebrows. But I was angry to start with, the receptionist almost ruined my mood for the entire day.

I am a bad customer - late appointment times, running late for appointments, forgot my wallet one time!
...yet Wink never fails me!
Upon walking in of course you glance at the staff's general aesthetic - hair, make-up, nails and most importantly eyebrows and lashes. I felt a sense of ease when I saw how kempt everyone was.
I always go in after work so I have make-up on and my skin is oily. They let me wash my face, moisturize and they make sure that I am offered something to hydrate me.
I was unsure about the whole procedure but a friend bought a Groupon and convinced me to try the Discovery set. Irene was fantastic with the application. I've since been back for another Dicovery set and will be trying a more bold set in the next few months. -

I came to Wink after many recommendations from my co-workers for eye brow shaping. They definitely know what they are doing here. My eyebrows looked great afterwards and I'm usually very picky with my brows. I had a BAD experience at the Brow Bar (holt renfrew) so I needed someone to correct it. I was so relived that she was able to make my eyebrows look normal again and coached me how to fill in my brows.
The eyelash extensions look interesting, but I'm not ready for that obsession yet...but when I am I will for sure come to Wink.
good prices, great location in gas town, nice/professional staff....Listed in: Vancouver faves for…

Love this place.
There was a mix up with my appointment, but they were great enough to squeeze me in to get the all the things done.
I had great laughs with the girl that was doing my lashes as well!
I had a few odd ones fall out, I called them about it and they were able to fix it! Now that, is great customer service!!

**Girlie review alert**
My lashes are saying thank you - thank you - thank you! My peepers couldn't feel prettier after my first trip to Wink today! With over 80 different styles of semi perm. lashes and a comfortable lash-tastic area - I feel like a million bucks!
After feeling like I needed to explore the lash world before committing on a place, I thought I'd give Wink a shot. When I first called last week, I had a lot of questions about how they did their lashes: how long they last? If they are harmful for my actual lashes, etc. The person I talked to on the phone was really helpful and understanding (I currently had another set on).
When I went in this morning, I was a little apprehensive, having gone through this a couple of times before. But I was pretty blown away by the set up and all the fun makeup they have for sale in the front.
Now, to confess, it turns out that I actually sort of knew my lash expert, through mutual friends. I don't think that this made much of a difference in how great my lashes look, and all of the information she bestowed on me about lashes, but it did keep me much more entertained having a girlie conversation about the people we both know.
I knew I would love this place when she used anti-aging pads to firm up my under eye area while also keeping my lower lashes out of the way. But, the icing on the cake (literally) was when I was given a pink frosted cupcake at the end. They're celebrating their one year anniversary right now, so I'm guessing you don't get that all the time - but it was still a fantastic little treat!
If you haven't been in before you get 10% off of your first visit and even though it's pretty pricey ($80 for a full, natural set) I will be splurging again! It's a price worth paying for ga-ga lashes and zero need for mascara! -

I went in for an "express" facial at Wink, but truly got the VIP treatment. My esthetician was professional, informative, and friendly as she customized the skin care products she was using for my skin. I discovered I do have sensitive skin... who knew? She also customized the methods of treatment - the facial usually comes with a hand and arm massage, but she observed that I'd had a manicure only a week ago, so gave me a tension-melting neck and shoulder massage instead.
In all, the service that is normally offered for a half-hour stretched to a full hour (I didn't mind at all), plus they gave me a discount of some sort, perhaps for mentioning that I'd seen them written up in the paper or for a first-time visit. That was a nice surprise!
Wink is also cuter and funkier than most spas I've been to. I was pleased to walk in the door and hear not one note of pan-flutes or Indian chants, but rather upbeat pop. They have a very cute beauty boutique in the entryway, and the mani/ pedi room in behind even has little doggy beds beside the chairs. Not that my own 70-pound dog would fit in one, but the spa is dog-friendly nonetheless. This would definitely be a great place for a little group spa party.Listed in: Ladytime

Thank you Wink! I came here after reading all the positive reviews about this place. I was a bit worried about getting eyelash extensions in after some bad reviews about them, like how some places glue three eyelashes then put them on one of your own lashes and how they ruin your own eyelashes. Anyways, I gave this place a chance and got the glamorous set (cost about $105) and was blown away by how natural but gorgeous they looked (I had Brandi)! That was about two months ago and I'm going back again for the dramatic set this time! By the way, this place is probably the most reasonably priced for the best quality of their services!

I always walk out of Wink looking like a million bucks! The professionalism that the ladies show speaks volumes of each and every one of them.
The perks to getting your eyelash extensions is not only do I get to nap in a comfy chair and blanket but those eye pads that they put on you is fantastic. I heard other places uses tape? TAPE? really on the most delicate area of the face? Wink goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I definitely recommend Wink Beauty Lounge! -

This review is extremely over due!
Wink is by far the absolute best lash estension place in Vancouver.
Between myself and my closest girlfriends, we can tried them all (the worst of which, Noir. You couldn't pay me to go back! The amateur girls at Noir jab at your eyes after putting scotch tape on your lower eyelid!)
The service at Wink is great and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun and great for getting in some girly gossiping - but above all else, Wink delivers on their promise for flawless glamorous lashes.
I've had the natural set done several times and it negates the need to put on any mascara for day or even the need to wear falsies for a night out.
They are perfectly long and perfectly thick, catered to your individual lashes and length.
They are applied individually and layered next to one another instead of in gross clumps which most other lash extention services do. -

I come here regularly for my lashes and it's been the best place by far. I'm always greeted by name and offered a drink when I arrive, then seated in one of their comfy recliners where I can always count on a good nap while I get prettified. They're thoughtful enough to offer a blanket if I'm in a skirt so I don't flash my goods to everyone too, now that's service! I love that their standard service includes the gel eyepad to keep the bottom lashes down instead of the painfully tear jerking tape that the other lash places use. You also get to keep the little lash brush that they use on you, something that has helped greatly in keeping my lashes clump-free. New sets & refills are applied meticulously, with a one-to-one lash application that helps with maintaining your new lashes longer and keeps your real lashes healthier. A clump of glue with 3 fake lashes sticking out, all hanging off of one puny real lash??? Not attractive and damn hard to remove!
I've also been here for various other services, including spa services & makeup applications, and have enjoyed them all. Vivian, the owner, did a great job with my makeup and I learned some new tricks that I use all the time now. The lounge has a cozy & girly (can you say PINK?) set up that is always clean & comfortable. I've also splurged on the eclectic selection of beauty products they carry in the front store.
*WARNING*
Can become addictive! I find it hard to find another place that compares when it comes to my lashes and Wink is pricier than some of the others, but well worth it IMHO. My only beef is it's hard to get appointments on short notice (this review probably won't help my cause any either *sigh*) and I'm not the greatest at scheduling more than a week in advance, hence my constant frantic attempts at trying to get appointments pre-weekend, will have to mend my chaotic ways... -

Wink Beauty Lounge is one of my fave spots. I go here for semi-permanent lash extensions, their specialty and what they're famous for. Truly best-in-the-city, lots of local media personalities visit this spot for their "almost" real lashes. The crew at Wink is very dedicated, knowledgeable and super friendly. Like I said, semi-permanent lash extensions are their specialty, but they also do brows, spray tan, manis & pedis, facials, etc. They also have a great retail space with brands like Lip Fusion, Decleor, OPI, China Glaze, Blue Q, The Balm and of course, tonnes of lash accessories, falsies & even lash growth serum (Talika). They book up fast! Lash extensions are about $80. Will take an hour or so. They last 3-4 weeks depending on how well you take care of them. And they are totally GORGEOUS! You'll look like you were born with long luscious lashes! Nobody has to know!

One of my good friend works there and she was kindly enough to put eyelash extensions on me. I have never heard of eyelash extensions until she told me about it. Apparently, I have really short lashes and once she put the lashes on me. My eyes are double in size (very amazing). The lashes are very natural looking.
They have so far withstand my negligence since I got them about 2 weeks ago.
I'm going back there soon to get my nails done as well. They are using this gel nails that does not need sanding down your natural nail (kinda like Bio-scupture gel nails if you have heard of them). -

I've tried 3 different salons for lash extensions. The first one used a glue that made my eyes burn like crazy, the 2nd salon had lashes falling out within days. But Wink was absolutely fantastic! So relaxing, very professional staff who KNOW what they're doing and beautiful lashes that felt like they were my own. I wish I lived closer so I could have them done more often.
