I gotta hand it to the new management of this place.

It used to be Pub Med (dread).  it use to suck, it was a ghost town most days of the week, including Fridays.

Now, you have to go early to get a seat because they don't take reservations.  Why?  Good solid bar food, great specials and friendly staff.  Sounds rudimentary, but i'm surprised how many places can't get these 3 simple things right  *cough* house of wings *cough*.

Game days and sundays are packed, so arrive early.

    Cheers.

I was here with a group of 14-16 friends. The organizer picked this bar on a St. Patrick's weekend on a hockey night. Even though the service was slow (understandable), the pretty waitress was very attentive. She came by to check if we still needed more water, beer and food.

We were seated outside on the enclosed patio. The heat was on, but I could still feel the unwelcoming gusts of wind. There's a fireplace facing Kingsway, which I find it oddly placed. I wasn't sure if it was there for the "look" or was it supposed to be functional.

My partner and I ordered a plate of appetizer to share. The appetizer was comprised of 10 buffalo wings (a good mix of wings and mini-drumsticks), yam fries, two dipping sauces, and two pieces of cheese bread. The cheese bread was good. It was well toasted, crunchy and not doughy (thank god). The yam fries weren't particular fresh but they'll do. The wings were meh. I've had better wings. $10.95 before tax. If it's not for the gathering, I wouldn't have picked this place.

I must point out this place is good for large groups and sports fans. Seats were plenty and comfortable.

A mixed experience for me, and I'm really dating myself remembering this joint as Malone's from a party way back when.... Well, the name of this place has changed many times over, but the look of this place brings me back to when I came here, so nothing in terms of aesthetics has changed. So now you are called Wings, just like every other 'Wings' I will judge you by the same, and here's how it goes:

Came here, as me and my partner were meeting up some friends for a good get together on St. Patrick's day, and there was also a Canuck's game. The party was seated on the patio, or what you call the outside, as I don't see much of an outside to even call this a patio. The former patio is enclosed with a tent, with heaters and tv's hanging from the rafters, so even though your not on the outside, you'd think it would be warm, well guess again! Maybe that is a trick to make us drink, to keep us warm? I'd hate to know the other feel of this place (but reading the reviews of the enclosed area, and the greenhouse effect, I think I do know!).

If your sitting on the outside, and you want a good view of the tv screens, your going to have to face Northward (toward the building), but carrying a conversation outside, was difficult due to the volume of the tv. I know your broadcasting a game, but in some instances it was deafening (if it is the Stanley Cup finals, by all means, blast away!). They close the screen doors not to left the draft in from the patio, but these doors need some good grease, as it takes some good strength to slide them open if your in a rush to go to the toilet.

Me and my partner orderd one of their mixed platters, filled with yam fries, chicken wings, and some cheese bread. Not a quality dish, but at the same token, I have been to other "Wings" locations, so I know the quality of the food, and how it should be. I saw some pretty measly wings in that pile. Some were standard size, others were like bits from a baby bird (I didn't know we ordered quail?). The buffalo style wings didn't have that zing, the yam fries were over battered, and the food wasn't that hot when it hit the table.

This place does have it's own parking lot, which is a good size to get your party in the door, and can accomodate big tables, but the food needs work.

I just don't get it.  I just don't.  The wings are decent - but nothing amazing.  $0.39 wings all day on Sunday - okay, I know poultry is getting expensive but it's not exactly 'cheap' in my book.  I think it's a fair price - but my jag-off buddy likes the idea of ordering a 100 wings at a time for $39.  Seriously - be smart and don't order so much at a time unless you like cold wings and want to look like a douchebag.

I really couldn't tell the difference between one flavour and the next (they claim over 20 flavours - to me, it was just 'dry' and 'wet') - but the wings are a decent size and they had Sapporo on draft for $4.xx a sleeve.  Anyways - should be a solid C-grade/3-stars... satisfactory performance much like the Coquitlam location - go ahead Wings... join the other 68% of middlers out there.

    But here's a few things:
    - service really sucked - not sure if the server simply didn't like us or she was just being lazy.  Regardless, we were on the patio and she was never to around when you needed her.  Bleh... and that brings me to my next point...
    - quite simply the worst patio I've been to all summer.  The patio faces out on Kingsway - so I guess to seal out road noise - they built a fully enclosed patio with windows.  With airflow d and sun shining down - I felt like I was in a greenhouse.  It was uncomfortably 'swelty' - and the patio is now non-smoking.  It was my last refuge in Burnaby - now I just feel like I was trapped in a glasscase of emotion.

And I finally pulled the trigger on the Bobby Wings - which is their top-tier uber hot wing with accompanying waiver.  I've heard (reliable) stories of people instantly turning ghost white and near passing out from unimaginable pain, vomiting, headaches, etc.  Unsure if it's an excess of testicular fortitude or foolish bravado - but I had to try it.

One of my tablemates ate one before me and we watched him turn from a man to a pained, teary-eyed, sweating shell of a boy.  Anyways - definitely not a wing anyone would eat normally - just if you have something to prove.  I 'POWed' up and got deeper than a Navy SEAL.  I ate it like a normal wing (didn't cheap out on it by quickly 'stripping' the wing) - and I didn't see the big deal...chewing and processing what I was eating, I let out, "Hmm - this is going to be tad uncomfortable..."

My mouth went numb for a bit... then my my tongue turned into a caustic molten lava bed - it's an extremely intense and lingering burn in your mouth.  I didn't reach for the milk... like Usher, I decided to let it burn.  But yup - it pretty much disables your ability to talk for a few minutes as you try to keep a poker face and while you're screaming in your head: [in Gollum's voice] "IT BUUUURRRRNNNZZZZ!!!"

But yup - you'll be in pain for about 10 minutes as you swirl some extra swigs of beer in your mouth.  But it passes - definitely painful but not as bad as everyone said it was.  Get one if you're as dense as I am.

... and yes... if you must know, you do feel it when the Bobby Wing 'clearing' your system - like a bullet, most of the visceral damage is from the exit wound... [over drum machine] Ohh girl - light that ass on fire.

Had another amazing night at Wings this weekend with my friends for her 19th birthday! Yes, she is finally legal, so we celebrated at Wings and then we went clubbing for the night!!

We had an amazing time at Wings filling up our tummys with amazingly cheap Wings on Sunday night. We ordered all the flavours from the menu in our table as everyone was there celebrating, and then had a couple of drinks before we hit the club.

The place is still snazzy as ever. With the nice waitress, and the freindly service. She wasn't hesitant to serve our table at all, she was very up beat and out going.

Thanks Wings for another amazing night that went amazingly well!! :D

The wings were tiny and overcooked. The service was slow. The waitresses were busy "hanging out" in the manager's office.

What can I say about wings?  Wings has amazing Wings with lots of different and interesting flavors!  The staff here is really good always stopping by to make sure that you have everything you need without seeming pushy like at some pubs.  This location being a pub is a big upside as it is nice to go to an establishment and not worry about children running around annoying all the other patrons of a restaurant.  There are just enough TVs here so that you can keep up with your favorite Hockey team wile you eat wings and drink beer!  The menu itself has a pretty good selection of foods on top of the amazing wings selection!  I recommend the burgers if you are not feeling like wings.  If you want wings the day to come here is Sunday as it is 39 cent wings day which is a much nicer price than the full price!  This location also has off sales for Beer and other alcohol.  If you run out of booze and realize the liquor store is closed you are not out of luck!

Yeah. It's good. Indulgent and addictive. Try the salt and vinegar wings, seriously.

My boyfriend for the longest time had a goal to finish the bobby wings. He finally did it a few months ago. Don't eat them if you want to enjoy your meal later on though... stick to the normal wings :D

Wheelchair accessible? I don't know why it is marked as 'yes'. It should be 'no'. Yes there is a wheelchair parking spot, but this does not make the restaurant 'wheelchair accessible'.
My friend and I came here on a Sunday night for some cheap 39 cent wings. I just moved to Burnaby so I'm used to going to the Wings in Coquitlam, and let me tell you, comparing this location to the Coquitlam location makes this one look pretty dumpy. First when we got there I asked a waitress for a table that would accommodate my friend who is in a wheelchair. Looking around I could already see there was absolutely no where she could sit. Every single table in that restaurant is a high bar style table with super tall bar stools. She would be sitting at least a foot under the table if they were to seat us there. The waitress made us wait a long time while she ran around until she finally took us over to a booth. The booth too, was raised a foot off the ground and there was no way my friend would be able to eat there. I told the waitress this and then she admitted that the restaurant was not at all wheelchair friendly and that she had never been so ashamed to work there. Well we were about ready to leave when the manager came rushing over, he told us he could find us a spot and they again had us wait while they frantically ran all over. While we were waiting a hostess came and asked us if we had been helped, we said yes but we were waiting for a table that was wheelchair accessible, she told us that she did not know anything about that and could not help us because she "is just the hostess" so I asked her if she knew if the seating on the patio was low enough and she very rudely answered "I don't know, I am just the hostess, I cannot help you, I was just making sure someone has said hi."  What the hell? the hostess doesn't know what the seating on the patio looks like? Anyways.. the manager came back and told us that there were tables on the patio. We would have preferred not to sit outside but we didn't really have a choice so we made our way through the super tight aisles, pushing chairs and tables out of the way, to make it to the back of the restaurant and out onto the patio. To cut it short, our new waitress was very kind, the wings were good, nothing too amazing or anything, but satisfying. We ate, we paid and we left. I don't know if I'll be coming back, I used to go to the Coquitlam location every Sunday, and I was always beyond satisfied with the service, food, and atmosphere. Wings Burnaby just didn't live up to my expectations.

A great place for a small gathering with friends, the place tends to get loud at night so don't worry about large groups either as you would all blend in with the atmosphere.

My guy friends like to come here a lot, we usually go to either Oscars or Flying Beaver as well, but Wings is kinda in the middle for everyone so we come here a bit more often. Oscars is not my cup of tea, and Flying Beaver is always packed anyway.

Service can be non-existent at some point as this place gets quite busy and they are usually short-staffed. Try to get as much stuff as you need once you got a server in front of you. Food is always good, I always go for the wings, it is their signature dish! Honey garlic is my personal favorite, salt and pepper is average as welll as the bbq and buffalo. Tried the legendary bobby wing, painful experience but interesting nonetheless!
Friends said the burger is pretty good here too, but not the pasta.

It's in my neighborhood so I'll for sure come back to satisfy my guilty pleasure! :P

The full name of this place is called "Wings Pub and Grill" and I love their wings!

Come here on Sundays to watch the game and order up some $0.39 wings.  The chicken wings are actually quite big and the there is a huge list of flavors.  The minimum order you can do per flavor is 1 pound which is 10 wings.  That's $3.90 for 10 wings and it's delicious.

I try to order other things, but it has been the 7th or 8th time I've been here and I always end up ordering the wing special on Sundays.  You can't beat that deal so it's hard to stray, but you won't be sorry though.

Sundays are also Ceasar specials.  So basically, my husband and I like to order 3 pounds of wings and wash it down with about 4 or 5 Ceasars.

    Worth every calorie and penny...

The atmosphere is awesome. The wings are good. The service has always been good. However if you order anything besides wings it's a hit and miss. The last 4 times we ate there anything that we ordered was undercooked. Great wings and service. Just don't go there for anything else.

This is the replacement for Pub Med.  I've never been to the previous venue.  Previous setup from my understanding was a pub/bar with a dance floor that opens up at nighttime.

The new setup is a full on sports bar / restaurant with no bar to speak of.  They still have an off-sales area.

    NOW WHY 5 STARS???
    - Yes, they sell wings and pub food.  But, variety alone on the flavors (something like 15?) and like 6 different dipping sauces...  that's 90 different combinations of flavors.
    - The food came out fast, even with a completely full restaurant
    - Value...  some of the "pounds" that came out were definitely larger than a pound.
    - Reasonable drink prices
    - Awesome server who we all agreed on was some of the best service we've received in a while.  It wasn't any one thing, it was just all the little details put together that made it a great experience.

Wings know their wings, no doubt about it and is a welcome step-up from Pub Med. Shout out to Angelle: 10 stars on her excellent customer service, recommendations and awesome personality. Apparently she is in training to be a manager at the Coquitlam location, Burnaby's loss and Coquitlam's gain.

Now on to the establishment...point me in the direction of the fun, food and drinks! Great menu with 20 different flavours of wings. I highly recommend Tora, Tora, Tora Toyko & Yukon Jack just to name drop a couple. Don't forget the Wowy sauce makes just about anything taste better.  Yam fries are a huge score especially with the red pepper aoili dip and don't miss the Porklet Duo with Maui Lime Dip and Brew House potato Skins. As if that wasn't enough, genius idea to put in a cold beer and wine store right in the restaurant: HELLO!

Great prices, patio with a cozy fireplace, well-trained staff, wings and booze. Pretty much sums it up for me!

    Go Canada Go!!

Great venue for sporting events, vastly improved from the old Pub Med.

Waitresses are friendly and on the ball, cow bells and hockey trivia and free rounds of Canada shots make this a fun time all around during the Olympics.

Wings are good, they really do make you sign a waiver for their "Bobby" wings.  Higher quality than usual pub food, juicy burgers and seasoned fries.  Free refills on soft drinks and iced tea, daily food specials as well.

Great place! Fun vibe, good music, comfy booths and efficient service. Also pretty much every seat in the house has a good view of a tv. The food was very nice as well.

For a starter the boyfriend and I ordered the Tora, Tora, Tora, Tokyo wings which were delicious. Then we each had the Surf & Turf Thursday special. The fries were exactly as I like them, the vegetables were tasty, and the steak was decent. The prawns could have used a bit more garlic, but I love prawns so that was okay.

Service was quick, but a couple of times I felt like I had to speak over the server to give my order, as she tended to walk away while still speaking. A little strange?

They also forgot the Surf part of our Surf & Turf, but they were quick to bring out the missing prawns. Strangely, they brought out two orders' worth on one plate so that we could share them, but there were an odd number. Did they short us or give us an extra?

Anyway, I would be happy to come back and try some more wing flavours!

best wings in canada. wish they can branch off their special wings company down to seattle. i'm still craving for their salt and vinegar wings... so dam good. the place was really crowded on sunday since i believed it was their special 39 cent per wing and the music was out of date. about 3-5 years back and my friends said it was the same for a long time, so wings please play some recent music!

a little update: alright i tried their bobby wings and i thought i was ready. i was training myself with 5 star thai food and all that shit. i signed my life away and ordered 1 wing, took 3 bites and tears of pain came down from my eyes. nothing better than seeing a grown man cry, i had to ask the waitress for some napkins, but that never came by so i had to go to the restroom for some. anyways bobby wings was a good crying experience, made a few friends to try a piece of them and made them cry as well, but the best one yet was when my friend just tried two little pieces of skin and he started hunting down our water and beer.

Once you get past the long wait line your in for some delicious 39 cent wings on Sunday! They have a bountiful selection to chose from. Like salt and vinegar wings to their regular hot wings. But I will have to try their bobby wings next time which is suppose to be their hottest wing, and I believe you need to sign a waver before you can eat them.
