Not too shabby, not too flashy but not too dumpy either lol.
Seems like it had its day, though tonite it did pick up after 7pm. Strange, the first 2 columns of tables had white table linen but she told us to sit on the other column which was just regular tables w/ no cloth--thought that was a bad sign.
However, the beijing boneless pork chop actually was above average, and the vegetable dish w/ water chestnut, bat choy, lotus, seaweed, carrots.
Just a bit over $20.
All in all, i wouldn't mind coming again if No.9 was super packed or in the area, as they have their own decent 12 spot parking lots -

One of the reasons why I always like Richmond is the wide selection of ghetto-food in the middle of the night.
I remember going to Wing Kee for decades at their old location across from Richmond Centre, until that sinkhole caused their location (and the entire strip mall) to cave in 2005. Always thought they closed up shop until I came across this location by accident. Looks like they just opened this year.
Parking is ample at night. There are some 10 spots out front.
One thing that really stuck out is that instead of Honger clientele (like in the 90s), this place was chock full of mainland Chinese. Not that it's a bad thing, but I had to bite my tongue so that I wouldn't make a wise comment about Chairman Mao.
I'm not sure how high the turnover here is, but the menus are seriously beaten/torn up. A small ad at the bottom of the menu proudly advertised a "comp limentaiy congee" for ordering $20 or more. I'm a sucker for Engrish, so don't mind me.
As for the food:
Oyster pancake - wow this thing was bland. No sauce or anything, unlike the Taiwanese-style. Tasted exactly like something my mother could whip up in a couple of minutes.
Mustard greens with garlic - unusually thick stems, but fortunately not tough at all. Great flavour. Vegetables were pretty fresh.
Beef fried noodle (chow mein) - a bit too salty.
The food was a *bit* pricier than other places, but overall it wasn't bad. -

Well, it's New Year's day and we're in no position to cook right now. My boyfriend and I looked on Yummy Web (to see who delivered to our area) and decided to try Wing Kee.
We chose Veg Chow Mien, Sweet and Sour Pork, Won Ton Soup, Spring Rolls and "Mixed Vegetables". They said it would be about an hour but the food arrived over an hour later. Fine, given the holiday I'm sure they were busy with quite a few orders.
Our order seemed to be correct, except that our "mixed vegetables" consisted of baby bok choy and ONLY bok choy. Not much of a mix, and NOT worth $10. I felt annoyed and ripped off because of this, but I decided to just eat and try to enjoy my meal. I was able to get past it and thought the food was actually pretty tasty. Not amazing, or gourmet quality by any means, but better than the food court!
I'd order from them again, but next time I'll ask questions about what is included in each dish. I would have prefered an actual assortment of veggies, and our food needed to be reheated before we could dig in which kind of sucked.
PS - I'm told the Won Ton soup was pretty good, and that while the pork had a nice taste, it was kind of soggy and didn't seem all that fresh. -

Landed in Vancouver after a LONG day of travel. Arrived at my hotel near the airport close to midnight and found out from the front desk clerk that this place delivers until very late. Put in an order and the woman said (after taking my credit card info) that it would be 40-45 minutes. I almost canceled the order right then because it would be nearly 1:00 AM when I started eating. She heard my hesitation and said they'd rush the food over asap.
Fast forward to 1:20 AM and still no food so I called them to cancel the order. She protests that the driver is close by but it's already been over an hour and I'm annoyed so I cancel the order and she agrees to do so. 5 minutes later there's a knock at my door and it's the driver. He's insistent and pleading with me to accept the order. I'm hungry and still up so against my better judgment I accept the food. It turns out to be cold and soggy. Totally disappointing experience. Would not order from them again if I'm in town. -

This is my go to place for late night Chinese food craving. Nothing fancy here, just your typical restaurant with the kitchen visible for everyone to see. Great selection from the menu and the prices are reasonable. I tried the wonton soup and was disappointed in the mediocre bland broth, but the pork wonton was very tasty. Next came the spicy fried tofu with chillies and vinegar garlic pepper dipping sauce-excellent. For the main course we went with house special chow mien with crispy noodles, pork spareribs in black and bean sauce and a side order of guylan vegetables in oyster sauce. All were excellent and we did not need a doggy bag.
