Great old-school butcher shop. They're really good at sourcing their meat and have a good range of local options. Things may be a bit more expensive than at Safeway, but the quality of meat is much higher.

Also, don't be intimidated! The staff are generally friendly, and have always been patient with me when it comes to questions.

A brilliant butcher shop that has been around forever.

We generally get smaller orders because there's just two of us and we don't have a lot of freezer space.  We have been considering getting something that would provide us with more freezer room, but that's another review.

Anything you need for any type or style of meat, you will be sure to find something here.  Fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced.  Service is great and very quick.

Love this place!!! Been eating Meat from this place since my first tooth. The oddball butchers are awesome and very helpful, especially when they see me struggling with my kids in the stroller. They always come out to help me with the door without asking.
If you are looking to get the best holiday turkey, come here. You will need to book ahead if time. Also, the best prime rub roasts--with fat cap on!

Wheres the Meat??? Here this locally owned and operated store been around for 23 years!! great organic chicken, beef, and at times organic pork & lamb.. They sell sea food as well, but i come here for the meat..Theres prices are pretty close to the rest, but heck its independent & locally owned rather than a publicly owned and USA run store like whole foods.

The staff are friendly and most are knowledgeable the odd staff isn't completely up on his meat specs but theres never any wait time, so the mgr is always close by.

I have to give all the credit to my fellow Yelpers who mentioned this butcher on a talk thread.  THANK YOU!
This is the best butcher I have found in Vancouver.
Great prices. Supports local farms. Helpful happy staff.

And best of all... My BBQ'd NY strips were frikkin perfect. The grain fed beefs are quite lovely. I am already a loyal customer and it has only been a week. Next up is an attempt to cook a free range duck.

    I am impressed!
I've visited Windsor Meats on several occasions and have been quite happy with the variety, quality and price.  The staff are knowledgeable of their cuts and can give good suggestions.
There's a big selection of free-range and organic meats (and I'm always on the hunt for healthier and less-cruel chicken and Windsor's have been very nice and fresh tasting).
But the nicest thing is the price - a lot lower than at similar establishments nearby.

DIRTY HANDS ARE AT WORK HERE!
    _____________________________

I came here on the recommendation of others.  They have a good selection of meats at great prices and the staff are very helpful.

So why do I give this place one star?  Maybe it's just me but I find it strange that everyone does their jobs with bare hands handling the meat.  No gloves.  No sheets of paper to pick up the meat.  Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they just washed their hands right?  Chefs cook with their bare hands... and I can always rinse the meat as well as sear and kill anything on the surface.  But hold on here, the sliced prosciutto was handled with the same hands that just handled my raw meat order?  Ummm....

I paid for the order because I didn't really want to make a scene.  I gave them my money and what do you know?  Yup, they used the same bare hands that handled my raw meat.  The same hands that went on to handle the next customer's meat.  The same hands that touched my filthy bills that were probably touched by at least a dozen people in the last week.

In a society that is aware of hygiene and infection control more than ever, it doesn't seem responsible to handle meat this way.  Especially cured meat that won't be cooked.  From dirty dollar bills to my mouth.  Yummy.

I found this place 'cause of people's review on yelp so thank you.

I would say that this is one of the best butchers in Vancouver. Their sausages are great. Tasty and not very fatty at all. I look forward to buying my meat here on a regular basis.

I often shop here for everyday meat - a great variety and full service to handle special orders or esoteric requirements. Where they really came into their own was for a couple of larger occasions organized through work. When we wanted to throw a barbecue to celebrate the end of a major project, the initial instinct of the company was to head to Costco and buy a stack of frozen cardboard burgers, plastic chicken and flour paste sausages. I suggested we try Windsor Packing. The staff were really helpful in planning our requirements and it was all ready to pick up on the morning of the event. The cost wasn't far different from Costco, but it turned the barbecue from something functional and utilitarian into an enjoyable experience. Fantastic quality and freshness that beats packaged frozen foods hands down every time.

Whenever I get a hankering for seriously good quality bacon or any other type of meat-product, Windsor Meats is where I will be and you should too!  The prices are reasonable and they carry organic, free-range pork and chicken along with beef, game birds, fish and would you believe it?! blueberry perogies!!! You have no idea the joy I felt when I found this in the freezer at Windsor Meats!  My Mum used to make them when I was younger and I have never seen them sold anywhere until now.  Trust me, blueberries plus perogies plus amazing bacon makes the best dang breakfast around!

This is my butcher of choice for rounds, rumps, chops and hocks. The selection is good - take a vacation from the pork loin and braise that boston butt. The grass fed and organic options are nice too. Yes, the bacon is thick cut. I'm sure they'd cut it anyway you want. Look in their freezer and you'll find simply delicious, homemade chorizo sausages ready to go. This is an essential stop on my weekend shopping route.

Traditional butcher shops are a dying industry and I'm glad this place is still going strong.  They have a good selection of cuts, accept custom orders, and have organic heritage pork and Polderside chickens and ducks.  However, that's where it ends.  I'd like to see more variety in the organic/local/heritage breed meats and DRY AGED BEEF (minimum 21 days)!  God knows it's hard to find properly aged beef in this town without having to go to a restaurant for it.
