Windows Salon is in the University Extension Building. Not surprisingly, this place has lots of windows, which is kind of nice, because it allows a lot of natural light in. I've been here twice for a haircut, and each time I've had a good experience.
The first time I came here, I was confused, because they gave me a shirt to put on and told me to go into the change room. I wasn't actually sure if I was supposed to take my own shirt off, so I had to ask, which was kind of embarrassing, but the stylist was really nice about it. It was the first time I had paid anything more than $22 for a haircut, and ever since, I've never gone back for a cheap haircut. I think this stylist charged me about $55, but it was well worth it.
The second time I came here, I had a different stylist. She did a good job too, but not as good as the other stylist, and I didn't feel like she really listened to what I really wanted. I wanted something edgier, but I got something more conservative. This stylist charged me about $38, which is actually a really good price. Half-way during my cut, the building's fire alarm went off, and we all had to leave the building and wait outside. There was one lady with rollers in her hair and everything!
They are pretty good at keeping you comfortable here, offering you water, tea, or juice. I think that most salons do this now though. I do recommend this salon--it's very modern and up-to-date, but I think it really all depends on the stylist and whether or not you click.
