Review from Phil W.
Far better than expected! Five of us (three teenage girls, my wife and I) did the Monkido ropes course today. We loved it.
Summary:
1. Great value for the money. If this course were in the States, you'd get half the "elements." We were on the course for two full hours.
2. Guides and staff friendly, experienced and helpful. Chris, in particular, was awesome.
3. Course is challenging. If the challenge is too much at some point, or you just tire out, you can bail. But it's safe to finish even if you're exhausted.
Highly recommended. -

This is a playground for adults (and teens and some kids I guess, but I don't really notice anyone shorter than 5 feet.)
Remember climbing trees and rock faces, building rickety forts, jumping daringly over raging rivers and rope swinging over jagged cliffs? (Yeah guys, I didn't always live in a city..) Well, this is like that except now we're adults and know what injury and death is, so how about we strap ourselves in, make it higher and faster to even out the thrill a little and go for it! This shit is so much fun, I wish I could do it every weekend.
It starts slow and low, but soon increases to self-installed zip lines, a whole bunch of balancing challenges, onward and higher to ROPE SWINGING INTO A GIANT NET (I did this one several times over while I waited for my height fearing buddies to catch up,) tight rope walking, swinging on suspended logs and balls, and the most terrifying for me - hanging off what appears to be bike handles HIGH up in the trees across a river. The best part is it's highly independent - there is a guide along the way to ensure safety and answer questions, but you do tho course on your own.
This is seriously one of my favorite summer activities just barely out of town. -
Review from Joanne P.
We used a Groupon offer to try out the Zoom Zip Lines and found the experience to be overall quite fun. The staff was helpful and friendly.
However, the two star rating has to do with the affliation that WildPlay Whistler has with Outdoor Adventures Whistler - the company behind the slaughter of the 100 sled dogs in April 2010. We were not able to find this out prior to checking in for our tour. We were directed on the phone to go to the Fairmount where the desk was clearly labeled "Outdoor Adventures Whistler" with a smaller sign indicating WildPlay. We didn't have our computer or iPhone on us to confirm the connection until afterward and while one can say they are separate companies, I wish we had known prior so we could have made our decision based on full knowledge of facts. And even prior to buying the Groupon, we tried to find any connection between the two companies but it was not easily found.
Overall, this deception left a bad taste in my mouth and unable to recommend WildPlay for any of their excursions.
