Review from Annie W.
Whenever we come up to Whistler, my friends and I always make a point to come here for Sunday Brunch. At $26 it's actually good value by Whistler standards.
The made-to-order omelet station is always packed, the egg benny's are yummy, and the waffles with maple walnut syrup are so good it's hard not to go for third or even fourth helpings. I'd say the pastry shop is the weakest section, I find that the scones and muffins are really bland.
Service is excellent and attentive even when they are slammed with brunch crowds heavy with families and fussy kids. Once they ran out of egg benny's and our server over heard me sulking to my table about it, about 10 minutes later a fresh batch came out and he brought one to the table just so I wouldn't miss out a second time. Now that's service!!
Reservations are a must! I don't think I've ever seen an empty table there on a Sunday afternoon during high season. -

The ambiance at the Wildflower is beautiful as you see Blackcomb outside the window. The restaurant is clean and the service was prompt. The selection of food for the breakfast buffet was fantastic. There was a chef who would specially prepare omelets to your liking. I loved the sauteed mushrooms and basil-seasoned tomatoes.

Oooh, I is so torn.
If the Wildflower was not located in a five star hotel it would probably have a hard time staying in business (unless located in a senior's community) as it is pretty uniformly.... uniform.
Banal decor, banal (but very attentive!) service and banal menu choices - but what can you expect from a place that has to please all palates from around the world?
So why 4 stars, Ms. O? Well, the food was solidly good. Everyone enjoyed their choices, but no one raved. My maple glazed cedar planked salmon with fingerling potatoes was really nice - but I definitely had none of my occasional food-porn paroxysms. The wine list was extensive and included a lovely red Zin, the olive bread basket was a nice touch and the kid's buffet was a HUGE hit with the wee gal I was with (filled with roasted free range chicken, penne alfredo, pizza and other nummies that kids like).
So - please, take this four stars with a grain of salt. This is a good (albeit pricey) choice if you are staying in the hotel, but there are many more exciting and affordable options in the lower village. -

Great restaurant, food cooked perfectly. They were also willing to adjust a current recipe for the Papperdelle pasta and prawns to include no fat. The waiter did not blink an eye. Great service in the Hotel and restaurant.

I think the best part about this restaurant (inside the Fairmont in Whistler) is the service.
Every day until passover, they are having a $10 deal. They pick something from the menu (usually priced at $25-35CAD) and BAM it's $10.
We ate on a Monday night and it was free range chicken. One fat juicy leg and one fat juicy breast. A dollop of mashed taters, plated over veggies. TOO MUCH FOOD.
Of course, the meal didn't end up being $20 because we had to go and order beers, and dessert. The dessert disappointed a little. We go the maple creme brulee, but it was all too mushy and not cold, so they probably just made it and brought it out real quick.Listed in: Canuck

Four words: Chocolate Fondue for Two. Don't let the name fool you, this bad boy easily satisfies the sweet teeth of at least four people. At $20, this is actually a real deal as it comes with a wide assortment of items to deep into chocolate. I tell everyone who is planning a trip to Whistler to get the Chocolate Fondue for Two and the Port Sampler. The Port Sampler is a bargain for $20 and offers a generous half serving of either three or four Ports.
The food is good, if not a bit average. The dessert is killer and unmatched in Whistler.Listed in: Whistler Eats

We were lucky enough to catch one of the nightly specials going on at the Wildflower this month...a prime rib dinner for just $10!
It was a steal for a nice slab of prime rib, dollop of mashed potatoes, side of roasted veggies and poofy Yorkshire pudding. We added a mushroom soup and garden salad to start, and were able to enjoy a delicious, civilized two-course dinner for two for a fraction of what it would normally cost.
Make reservations in advance because they book up quickly when they run these specials...we barely squeezed in at the last minute on standby. And, if you have little ones, you can't beat the very appetizing kids' dinner buffet for only $5! -

Being fair to the Wildflower.
The location is lovely great for munching and getting on a gondola.
The views are okay but not brilliant.
The food at the Breakfast buffet was very reasonable if not a little cool ( when will people install really heat lamps) and displayed very well.
The omelette chef was great.
However the service was probably the worst I have ever had in a 5 star hotel. Ten Minutes to get a pot of tea. I had to go up to someone and get some orange juice. They NEVER took away any plates we used during the breakfast, to the point we started stacking them like a game of reverse Jenga. Then 30 minutes for someone to fetch the visa card and bill. In the end we walked out ...... We did complete a feedback form and left our telephone number so we could be charged for the food but we wanted to speak to someone first! As expected no one has called us....... seriously I expected so much more from the Fairmont.
