Sadly, but seriously the best meal I had in Banff!
Why sad? Cause I only got the nachos and it was amazing! Who would have thought, add BBQ pulled pork to nachos with baked beans, sour cream, olives and banana peppers would be sooooo good! The only thing missing is coleslaw and we would have had ourselves a mean pulled pork nacho sandwich!!
This is the one and only place I'll suggest in Banff, and anything else you want to try after that, you're on your own! Nachos, add pulled pork!!! Remember to send me some when you go!Listed in: Banff

Average pub fair for Banff. Nothing special.
Located up a flight of stairs off Banff Ave & Caribou, Will Bill's Saloon offers pub food Southern style. Burgers, steaks, and game meats make up the majority of the menu. You also get your choice of southern style fixins like yam waffle fries, or pancetta baked beans.
Beans were saucy. Fries were crispy and the coleslaw was peppery but missing the vinegar taste. The elk burger was previously frozen and could have been better. Furthermore the steak needed some rest and wasn't cooked correctly.
With a cool mountain ambiance, pleasant servers I agree that Wild Bill is a good stop to grab food and hydration.
Bill for two w/ tax&tip: $60 -

Went back for the first time since Christmas break. Service was OK and we had the nachos again, they are great portions but could use some more cheese.

The best venue in Banff, by far, has a huge bar and surprisingly good food. Service is decent, but i like to be able to roam around, play some pool and video games, have a meal, watch the game, and hear a band all in the same place. Wild Bill's is the cornerstone of the Banff music scene, and a cool place to hang, for that it gets 5 stars from me!

So my brother really wanted to go to this place all week and I rolled my eyes every time he brought it up because it looks so stupid. Then one night we went and it really was pretty awesome. Good food and good drink specials. Kinda feels like you're in an Outback Steakhouse, so not very cool atmosphere.
And the service was great. Really great. Luckily we didn't have 25 people like the reviewer before me. Here's a tip... If you go out to eat with 25 people you're going to get bad, slow service and everyone in the restaurant is going to hate you because you're the loudest table in the place and everyone has to listen to Uncle Bob shout across the table to tell his stupid story. Just get 5 tables. You already have to choose who you're going to sit with and you're not going to talk to everyone. Ridiculous. -

This was by far the worst part of our trip. I called Wild Bill's for a reservation for 25 people after being told that they had a lot of room to accommodate our big group. We arrived and the set up was horrible. The set up a table for 20 and then had another 6 top in the corner, away from the group. If they were going to break up the group why not try and make it even? I got a little bit of attitude for explaining that this wasn't what we wanted to do. They moved another table down and all seemed to be ok.
Everyone ordered - drinks came pretty quickly so that was good but it was pretty much downhill from there. The food runner was laden with major attitude. She was (pardon my french) extremely bitchy, rude to the point of almost nasty. She barked our orders out which weren't recorded properly by our waitress so she had no idea where anything was going. They completely forgot about one order, screwed up the temperature of all the steaks, served a pretty grim looking tomato soup which went half eaten on most plates. NO one came and checked on us - the steaks that were poorly cooked were either replaced (poorly) or they took forever.
My steak sandwich was ok. The steak was medium rather than medium rare but I was so hungry I didn't really care.
The sheer attitude of the servers was really disappointing. If they didn;t want to serve 25 people, they should have turned us away up front and we could have found somewhere else to go. Unfortunately I will never set foot in this place again. I recommend that big groups avoid this place all together and find another pub, and lord knows there are a bunch of them in Banff. -

The chili was awesome! Really not a bad place, and I'd go back for a semi-quick meal if I'm ever in banff again.
