Have never had a bad experience here. The service is always on point, the food is beyond delicious and it has a great view. With the big glass windows, it gives a very open concept, and you can have the feeling of being outside even when dining indoors. The patio is nice as well with warm summer gusts of wind. It's also very welcoming to whomever comes to dine whether it's a family affair or just friends getting together for dinner. They occasionally have set menu options available that generally consist of a choice of soup to start, one of their delicious sandwiches, and a dessert to top it off around $15. The wild apple chicken sandwich they have is by far one of my favorites. A heads up: remember your license plate number so you can check in your car at the hostess stand, so your car doesn't get towed.

The ambiance is why people come here. On the lake, with a breeze, it is spectacular. Not fancy, mind you, but lovely. The food, on the other hand, is just north of average.
Not much in the way for vegetarians. I had a salad, a vegetable burger, and split a buffalo mozzerella flatbread. They were all okay and maybe even good. Nothing stood out as fantastic. The best of the bunch was the salad. (Actually, I had an apple cider on draught, and that was the best).
Service was spotty. It took a good fifteen minutes to even get acknowledged on the patio. The server said that she was moving people inside because many people were cold from the wind. Totally understandable, but someone should have been by to give us water and possibly take our drink orders in that time. They also made a mistake with our dinners. Both my companion and I ordered vegetable burgers, but I got mine with cheese and he did not. The vegetable burger came with a side soup (salad or fries, but we both got the soup). As a vegetarian, I ordered the carrot brie soup (excellent) and he got the cioppino (which said was very good). Yet, the put the cheese on his burger on his plate. With the darkness on the patio, neither of us could tell until after we started eating which burger had cheese. In my opinion, a very sloppy execution from the kitchen.
I wouldn't return for food, as I think there are far better places in town to dine, but I would return for wine or drinks on the patio.

It'd be nice to come here in the summer with a view of the lake. Otherwise, you settle for complete darkness and maybe a few lights across the way. The restaurant is nicely appointed, but it doesn't feel intimate, or unique. Cocktails and wine were decent, though they mainly had BC wines only, so if you're looking for anything else, very very limited.
I had the Mountain Berry "T" Crusted Roast Duck Breast with Organic Apple Risotto, Orchard Stone Fruit Essence Market Vegetables, Truffled Potato Crisps. The Duck Breast could have been a bit more rare, and the risotto was surprisingly rich (tasted like there was goat cheese or something in it). I felt with such a rich poultry dish, it might have been better to pair it with something not as heavy to balance out.
Might come again if staying at the Manteo, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back necessarily. -

Went for lunch with a couple friends. Chicken Club Sammich is Awesome! Probably the best thing on the lunch menu. The menu apparently changes periodically. Everything seemed fresh and the burgers and veggie burgers are made fresh in house. The menu is fairly limited, however, everything we ordered was good. The only complaints I have are it took the server a long time to fill water glasses, and the bench seating, if you end up at a table with a bench, are not particularly comfortable. And the bench seat moved...I'm not sure if it just wasn't attached properly or if it was supposed to be like that...and neither did the staff...? Other then that though, everything was great, and I'd go back. I'd just ask to sit somewhere else. ;)

I ate here with a friend and my family for lunch and we ordered the three course lunch. Soup, panini, and dessert. It was delicious, fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. I think they might have been short staffed. The server seemed rushed, and was servicing all the tables, but he was still very friendly, and did a great job! The view was breathtaking. I had a very memorable lunch here, and would return when in the Kelowna area!
