Thank you, Jenn W., for pointing me in the direction of Whole Vegetarian Food! She read me whining about how much I miss Morningstar vegetarian bacon (aka facon) and came to the rescue.
Finding Whole Food Vegetarian Food was a bit tricky. It's located in the Crystal Mall, which has a bunch of food stalls all grouped together, in addition to a lot of other stores. I almost gave up before finding the right place so I'll give you some detailed directions that might help you. Go through the arch where the big Crystal mall sign is off of Willingdon & Kingsway. You'll pass a water fountain with a large statue of a nude woman on your right. Keep walking and eventually you'll see an entrance to the Hilton on your left and an entrance to the mall on your right. Enter the mall and look for the tiny Whole Vegetarian Food which is probably the third store in on your left.
The store has only two aisles, which should give you an idea of how small it is. In addition to facon, we found some other great frozen veggie items like crispy "pork." This facon isn't exactly like my beloved Morningstar veggie bacon. It doesn't get the same crispiness, but it does have an almost identical taste. It will certainly tide me over between trips to the States that will probably still involve stocking up at Trader Joe's, home of $2 bottles of wine and Morningstar products.
