White spot has to be my favourite restaurant of all time. Whenever I come to Vancouver the first meal I get is at white spot. I get the chipoltle chicken wrap and the legendary burger(both). The service is good not great but its a casual restaurant.

Pirate Packs!!!
Okay I got that out of my system...I came here with my friend and her two kids (aged 4 and 6) it was kinda cool since I grew up with this restaurant. This particular location I have known so many people to have worked here during the school days... Not to mention the many times we would come here just to relax with a cup of coffee and dessert with the girls.
I remember the pirate packs fondly cuz when I was a child, I used to get them, and oddly enough the favourite park being the gold chocolate coin. Having grown up slightly since, I shared a chicken burger platter with my friend, and then we split dessert after.
The kids got chicken fingers and fries, and mac & cheese and grapes, and then chocolate ice cream after for dessert. The crayons and books kept them occupied for 12 minutes, and then deconstructing their boats and colouring took care of the next 30 minutes. The hostess, servers were über patient with us, and also with the kids, they were very warm and smiley. That was nice.
I did feel bad for the one non childrened couple sitting across from us, since I noticed there were 2 other families with young children around. The seats were comfortable, and it was lit enough to not feel sleepy or blinded.
The burger was exactly as I remembered, and the dessert trio (we couldn't decide so we went with the sampler) was fantastic, in particular their Dutch Apple Pie. We were surprised at how good that was!
Overall, it's a kid-friendly restaurant that provided activity (crayons, pirate boat) for the children, so that we had a chance to catch up and chat, and that in itself was winning a great battle. The bonus: no dirty looks from servers or people around us because there were children involved. -

We were looking for a quick decent place for a bit to eat and settled on this place. I should have looked at the reviews first! Think Denny's but worse. The food quality was bad, the ambiance horrible. Just overall bad.
I will say - the wait staff was friendly and courteous. They're the only reason it still gets 2 stars instead of 1. -

A brunch with my son last week.
You can get breakfast here for brunch and lunch for brunch and lunch and maybe even dinner.
Dinner is well, pretty much dinner unless you call it supper time.
However some view supper time as lunch.
All the Spot classics are served here and the service over the years has been very good.
I like this location better than the one in Richmond Center. For some reason that one doesn't work for me. I found a metal tab in my turkey dinner once there and sometimes food was a bit salty.
Here, the foods been decent and no surprises. I like it when there is no surprises in my food. Don't you?
If you haven't been here before, try the Monty Mushroom burger. It's their classic and it's goooood.
My parental units always like the chicken pot pie.
And I know it's not on the menu, but if you ask for it, they might be able to accomadate you with a Ceasar salad topped with calamari. -

Average food with a slightly higher than average cost, but friendly nonetheless.
But the kids menu is what brought me here. Keeps my little one occupied while I eat. They have the pirate themed menu for the kids. Personally I think a farm would be more appropriate for the restaurant but whatever. Anyway, the food is average. I would have preferred they offer 2% milk instead of 1% and rather than ice cream offer jello or yogurt. Especially since parents are so much more healthy conscience now.
I got the Asian chicken salad, nothing too special about it. I've certainly had better. I don't think it was worth the $12 that's for sure. Maybe i would give an extra star if I had gotten the burgers like my friends. Those looked much juicer.
I do want to give these guys two thumbs up though on service. We changed tables to accommodate the kids and of course the kids were making a mess, and we needed this and that for the kids. And the staff were really accommodating and friendly throughout. -

I knew I should have stuck to my usual choice of fare at White Spot, but that day I was feeling adventurous and went for the Bishop's Curry -fresh BC chicken breast simmered with sweet bell peppers and mushrooms in a delicately spiced orange, apple and organic tomato coconut milk curry sauce over Jasmine rice. Served with naan bread, mango chutney and cilantro. If it's named after John Bishop, I can't go wrong, right??
Well, it arrived, and sad to say, I should of ordered my Wild Salmon burger instead. There were only a few small pieces of chicken, lots of peppers and mushrooms. The curry flavour was ok, nothing too special, and not too fragrant. The rice was a little undercooked, and some grains were stuck together. I was a little disappointed.
I would have given this 2 stars, considering we still had to wait for a table when clearly there were lots of tables open. One extra star goes to their service, which was good, and they kept on refilling the ice tea, and he was attentive throughout our lunch. -

I must say that their menus are pretty average. To be paying over $10 for an entree that only taste very average isn't the best deal... But their promotion dishes are pretty good, especially their pumpkin soup and fettucini carbonara. If the dishes aren't on their regular everyday menus, they taste better... Or that's what I keep in mind when I choose my orders now.
Their drinks are also pretty average. They don't taste horrible, but nothing too special to make me wanna order again.
The service at this location is faster than the one in Richmond Center, but servers are generally really nice at both locations. -
