Moving here from Vancouver (where white spot started) I'm very happy to see at least one Whitespot in Edmonton. I wish they had the drive in like they do in Vancouver.
They have an awesome deal on burgers, Mon-Thursday they have a burger and a pint of beer for $9.99. It's their own beer made for them by Granville island brewery which is one of the best local beers from Vancouver. -

My friend suggested we head to White Spot for lunch. The only White Spot location in the city, I had not been here in ages as it is quite a distance form where I live. The restaurant is spacious enough with a family atmosphere. The menu is mostly burgers of different kinds, including chicken and vegetarian options. There are also salads, wraps, and a few other standard kinds of things one would find in a family restaurant.
We both ordered salmon burgers, me with fries and him with a Caesar salad. The burgers were a full fillet of salmon, smothered with aioli and served with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The salmon was nicely done and flavourful, but the aioli was a little heavy-handed. I ended up dipping my fries in it. The fries are supposedly bottomless, but no one offered to bring me more (and there weren't that many in the first place).
I saw as burgers were delivered to other tables, and they did not look like anything special. I can get a burger or salad at lots of other restaurants closer to where I live, of comparable prices and quality. -

I don't really see anything special about White Spot.
I've eaten here a couple times and I honestly don't know why I ever went back. The food isn't that good.
I'll be fair, it's a decent meal but it's nothing special. I would rather go to Subway actually.
The service is mediocre at best. Both times, our server was not very attentive and it was quite obvious that she had a fake smile on.
The burgers are pretty average. They're good but I prefer something unique with a lot of flavor.
I'm not going to go back to White Spot but if you like very simple, average food, it might be the place for you! -

White Spot is an ok restaurant. It is worth visiting if you are after are good, simple food, friendly customer service and family-type atmosphere. The menu is eclectic and offers a good number of meals to choose from. I dined here only once, and I am in no hurry to go back, and not because the food at White Spot is bad but because it is not really memorable or worth raving about. My husband and I stopped for a quick bite, and we ordered clam chowder, Mediterranean chicken salad and a bacon/cheddar burger. We shared, so I got a chance to try every meal. Clam chowder was rather good, and portion size was generous. The salad was fresh, crispy as far as salads go; and although the portion size was also generous, I'm not sure it was worth the price we paid for it. The burger was only ok. Beef patty was too dry for my taste.
Overall, not a bad restaurant. The food wasn't good enough to lure me back in again. -

B - List. Not Recommended. OK food, decor, ambiance and service. Nothing truly offensive. Nothing inviting enough to return. If you are needing something to fill the void, this place might just do it for you. This would not be my first choice for a special dinner. As a comparative, The Red Lobster and Olive Garden (which are literally almost next door) had a wait time on Saturday of 1.5 hours. White Spot - 5 minutes. You decide.
