I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in a one bedroom on the first floor. It was great to have a back door that led to the pool and hot tub area. I got a good deal from Craigslist. The best part was how close this place was to the Creekside gondola and Can Ski rental shop. The down side was we had to drive to upper village to go to the nicer restaurants.
The furnishings made our stay cozy. It had a small kitchen area equipped with plates and cookware. It was nice warming up next to the fireplace after a cold day of skiing. I wish they would replace the old box tv with a flat screen though.
Our room number was 108. We had to check in at Twins Peak in upper village. The parking garage was hard to find and they don't have a front desk or room service since its a time share. -

-Water backing up in the sink - disgusting dirty water
-Closet door doesn't slide
-Shower door doesn't close
-$15 parking for overnight (until 6am), but we were assured it was $5 if you were staying at a hotel
-At check in, heard two other people with these complaints 1) But we were guaranteed a pool. Here's the confirmation. See, pool. 2) We can't sleep in our room. The master bed is broken. Like the bottom fell out.
Uh - what kind of show are you running Whiski Jack? You've gone down, down hill since the times of y'or that I recall. Back when customer service was at paramount, when you answered your maintenance phones, and kept your units in pristine condition... instead you've wasted my first of only two nights of this mini-vacation plunging the kitchen sink, trying to fix the closet door, figuring out parking (and having way more luck with the very lovely girl running Deer Lake Lodge's front desk). I could have done the maintenance work at my own home thank you very much. Next time, I'm checking into a campground - I'm guessing it'll be way less work than this! -

My first reaction.... I'm not staying here (didn't quite go running for the hills, but close). You know it is so darn hard to pick a place to stay on the internet. We came here as a time share exchange and since we didn't have the option to switch to another property, we made the best of it and it actually turned out to be a pretty good place to stay.
My problem was that I had visions of the Westin and this was closer to Motel 6. The furnishings, hallways, etc. looked pretty beat up.
I'll focus on the good...
**private parking in a gated lot under the building - height limitation is 6'1.
**quiet location (good for families who don't want the noise of the main village, but many will be bored)
**swimming pool/hot tub - decent sized and most condos didn't have one.
We were in a one-bedroom unit with the master in a loft and a decent kitchen. This was key since Whistler is a pretty darned expensive place to dine out. So it wasn't fancy and part of me missed being in the main village, but we could walk to several restaurants, a nice grocery store, and were close to some of the main bike paths and lakes. This is close to the Whistler Creek base of Whistler Mountain (Creekside Gondola). We also didn't have drunks screaming below our windows at night and did have several bear sightings from our windows.
Word to the wise - many properties are being renovated in anticipation of the 2010 Winter Olympics, so check to see whether your property will be under construction during your stay.
**The location of the property is on Lake Placid Road. The address above is the property rental/time share office in town.Listed in: Whistler-in Dixie
