Review from Rachel L.
This was awesome, awesome, awesome.
These boats are loaded with three 500-horsepower engines which is a crapload of ponies and power. With these boats, you will do 360s, and dive straight through class 5 rapids.
We had a great tour guide and driver that were really enthusiastic and fun and they gave lots of great facts and numbers about the boat, and the rapids and whatever else you need to know.
A couple of tips for your trip: 1) Take the fleece sweatshirt they offer you before getting in the boat. It gets cold on the ride back! 2) Bring your own sandals with a heel strap. If you don't, they will offer you these aqua shoes that are soaking wet from the last trip and they feel gross and weird on bare feet, believe me! 3) Don't wear long pants or anything close to it because they will get SOAKED.
If you ever visit Niagara Falls, you HAVE to do this tour! It's so worth the money and I had a blast! -
Review from Nick S.
Do you enjoy having a metric ton of river water cascading over your body while cruising at 60mph through class 5 rapids?
A Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour is an outstanding way to spend an hour one afternoon, and the best $50 you'll ever spend on jet boat-related tourism.
The front row of the boat is called the "tsunami" section. For details, please see the introductory sentence. I don't remember the nicknames they had for the other rows, but they were all lame in comparison. The real adventurers sit right up front!
A fair warning to all who would be stupid enough to bring articles like sunglasses with them - you WILL lose them. There was a woman who lost hers on our tour, and she seemed surprised and appalled that such an unexpected travesty could occur while seated in a boat designed to literally push as much water as possible over the hull and into your face.
Make no mistake - this is a thrill ride. Like an extended ride through the best part of a roller coaster.
The only letdown was upon learning that it's not actually legal to race through the unique Niagara class 6 rapids... don't let them build up your hopes to only have them dashed!
Still, this is one of those fantastic experiences that shouldn't be missed.
