Wharf Wraps is a bit out of the way, on the "government wharf road" in Eastern Passage, but the haddock fish and chips are entirely worth the trip.

I've been there twice, and found the service to be fine. Friendly and informal, and not the fastest but well within reason.

I've only had the haddock and fries, and I can't imagine ordering anything else.  It's a huge haddock fillet--generously battered with an excellent, crispy, cornflake-style batter--cooked to exactly the right consistency:  fresh, moist, and flavourful.  This really sets the bar by which I judge fish and chips going forward.

Also, don't get an appetizer. Eating one order of haddock and fries alone is more than enough.

Wharf Wraps is a great place if you want quantity but the quality could use a boost. My group placed orders for haddock tips, fish and chips, potato skins, Caesar salad with chicken, plain Caesar salad and a chicken Caesar wrap with fries. The service was great, prompt and friendly but the food, not the most flavorful.  The salads, touted to be full of garlic and bacon, we're lacking in that area, as was the Caesar wrap, a disappointment to say the least. I am hoping this was just an off day and plan on giving Wharf Wraps another try.

Fish and Chips seems to even better than before. One piece is like the side of a whale.. Honest big portion. Decor has been updated and is a little more formal than it used to be, that is not to say that the place is casual for sure... Hey! Fish and Chips rock.....

Wharf Wraps seems confused. They are located in a small tourist area of Eastern Passage, a collection of small shacks serving ice cream, fish + chips and gift shops. Despite it's aquarium/seaside entrance, we were seated upstairs in a newly renovated 'Maritime chic' attic. With a mix of chrome, black paint, and reclaimed windows, this cramped space seemed like a piano bar crash landed in the middle of a fishing vessel. Service was pleasant but sloppy and slow. Inexperienced and confused, our waiter gave us a free pint not knowing who in the 10 odd people up there with us had actually ordered it. An appetizer of crab won-tons (yes, really) had me skeptical at my dining guest's choice, and while they were edible I wasn't thrilled at the thought of what I was eating. The table settings and plates seemed like they came from a downtown restaurant, reiterating the confusing nature of this spot. The only redeeming quality of Wharf Wraps is their fish and chips. At $12 you needn't worry about a 2 or 3 piece version, as this is one big filet of haddock. The batter is distinctive and not your traditional beer batter, rather more flaky. Delicious and fresh, it wasn't enough to save this reviewers feelings, with a disorganized bill delivery, no prompt for desert or coffee, we left promptly.

Next time if I really have a desire for their fish + chips, I'll order take out.

A guy that was working on our house was telling us about how the best fish and chips were found at Wharf Wraps. Since I love fish and chips and had heard great things about Wharf Wraps we decided to give it a try.

Yesterday we ventured over to Eastern Passage for lunch. Upon arrival we parked in front of the restaurant and a lady came out and told us to move our car. Weird as there was another vehicle parked there. There was a local radio station playing 'oldies'. I don't recall ever hearing a radio station playing in a restaurant. I found it annoying as I don't want to hear commercials when I'm trying to eat and relax. A few tables away from us a lady, whom I presume was a manager, was calling people and and organizing interviews. Also annoying to listen to. Our server was very slow and not exactly the friendliest person I ever met. We ordered the one piece fish and chips to split and our daughter ordered the grilled cheese. The fish and chips was good. Perfectly cooked and fresh with a cornflake type batter. The accompanying cole slaw was terrible. It was basically plain cabbage with no mayo or dressing. My daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was burnt black. It was burned and dried out and 'hard'. She ate one bite.

I was really disappointed when I got the bill and found that we were charged two dollars for splitting the fish and chips. I've never seen that before and I found it very cheap and chintzy. I guess that was to cover the cost of cleaning that dish, who knows? The bill was $23. way too expensive for a burned up grilled cheese and fries and a small order (since we split) of fish and chips.

This was not even close to the best fish and chips I've ever had. That would be Jamieson's in Dartmouth.

    We will not be back.

Wharf Wraps is a  cozy little seafood restaurant, located along the water in the fisherman's village in Eastern Passage. I've only been there on one occasion and had terrific service. I had the fish and chips, which were a big hit. For a reasonable price you receive monstrocious proportions. It's a good place to go with big groups, just call ahead first to make a reservation.

Three friends and I went to Wharf Wraps for the first time this week after I'd repeatedly heard how amazing the haddock fish and chips are. Our verdict: WOW, those are amazing fish and chips. Even the person who's not a fish and chips fan and ordered something else loved the bite she tried.

Portions are huge--glad we didn't order an appetizer, since we all had trouble getting through our meals.

We found the service a bit slow, but not enough to keep us from wanting to go back again when we have a chance. Looking forward to a return visit!
