Two things to note. This store is inside westgate mall near the blockbuster entrance. It is cash only.
My haircut usually involves a simple clean look with a small fohawk on top and every place I go to somehow screws it up. I usually find that it takes two weeks for my haircuts to look decent.
Now for the review; this is one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. The hair looks great right out of the shop, no two week 'grow in' period required. It costs $18 for a haircut and $8 for a shave. This is a small barber shop, nothing fancy to look at. You won't get a free coffee or high end leather chairs. What you get is a genuine male barber shop; they are the only place that I've been to that still use a straight edge razor! My haircut literally makes me feel more alive. The attention to detail was beyond what I expected, the barber must have changed blade sizes 6 times!
I live on the other end of the city and I'll definitely make my way back here for my haircuts from now on! -

Update: I won't be going back, I've been here 4 times now, and 2/4 times the same barber has completely screwed up my cut. It's a hit-and-miss when you show up because they usually have 4-5 barbers ready, 2 of them are great, but this one guy I've had twice is horrible. I'm not playing those odds anymore.

It would be easy to write this place off as merely a novelty since it has been around for something like 50 years, but it is far more than a novelty, it is a great barber shop. It's a simple place, nothing fancy. They have chairs for waiting and chairs for getting your haircut in. Other than that there is a coat rack, a few newspapers and a cash register that looks to be from the '60s. None of that really matters though, because it is all about the hair. They specialize in male haircuts and they do a great job. I have ye to have a bad haircut there and I've been getting my haircut there for close to two years. The prices are decent ($15) considering the attention they pay to your hair and the skill the staff obviously has. Why go to First Choice and save a twonie when you can come here and be happy with the result?

I've been going here monthly for about 3 years, they always do a good job and the price is right. Place is usually quite busy but I can usually get right in without waiting.
