Yes, a probably exaggerated rating but that just shows there aren't enough of this high-quality overall packadge of what a bubble tea should be like, almost like in Asia.
It's located in the village, quite a happening area, w/ Mcdonalds, Staples, CIBC and a bunch of other stuff there, but what stands out to me is the store layout--almost like a loft! No need to go to Rmd or DT.
So you order downstairs, with a few tables but go up to the 2nd level, and there's another entire whole floor of 30 seats, fresh, bright decor, and obviously lots of students buzzing away. Just feels good to have that DT feel but not in DT, u know?
Ordered their pork chop box, nicely crispy done, noodles were good, and w/ a bubble tea under $10, what a deal. Friendly staff too.
What's cool is they display their popular items on the wall on the left but there's a lot more if u actually read their menu book.
and as mentioned, there isn't anything like this on campus or even in this area!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Sarah A.
I don't mind the bubble tea here. They have a ton of flavours (I always order the lychee green tea with pearls so I can't speak to their other flavours). They also have a lovely hot rose tea with floating rose petals in it. All the drinks are super sweet (although you can order them "half sweet").
The food is sub par (it's Taiwanese fast food). The only thing I've tried so far that I liked is the Japanese Fried Udon.
They do have a decent seating area upstairs. They don't take Visa.
Not the worst place to go on campus, but not the best. -

Ok, I finally got back and tried the food. Let me sum it up with a "stick to the tea." I really do enjoy the tea here - the variety they have is nice, the pearls are well prepared, and the servings are generous (although priced on the higher side). So I'd give 4 stars for the tea.
The food, well, not so much. I'd give it 2 stars. Had the Taiwanese chicken nuggets, which comes with rice, and 3 side dishes. The nuggets were a bit overfried - so the meat became past tender. The rice was a little bit too mushy (as if it had been oversteamed), and the side dishes were below average. They were chili tofu, marinated cabbage, and marinated fried tofu. Really nothing to repeat.
So stick to the tea! (and the free wifi!)Listed in: Dentists' Dreams in Vancouver, Vancouver multicultural fried…, Vancouver Taiwanese Food

Review from Reena M.
Had a blueberry slush with pearls. Apparently that = a blueberry slurpee with pearls. No real blueberry bits in it and the consistency was exactly like a 7/11 slurpee.
I would have gone to Pearl Fever but I walked in and saw groups of elementary school kids just getting out, so I walked out and settled for this Well Slurpee. Boo. And it was so disappointing i had to redeem my bubble tea craving later that evening with a blueberry slush with pearls at Bubble World.Listed in: Yelping 101 at the University…, Best Desserts in Vancouver

Review from Vincent N.
Vancouver, BC
I was quite disappointed when they told me that they couldn't mix any flavours such as mango with strawberry. So that one definitely did annoy me, and I agree...the lack of real fruit did irritate me. After all their bubble tea isn't exactly the cheapest.
I did have the satay noodle on a Sunday afternoon after going up to UBC to do some consulting work, and I was pleasantly quite surprised, it was hot fresh, and though it wasn't a restaurant style presentation, the quality wasn't bad for that dish. Most places make the satay too dry, and this one though had a little bit more sauce was just right for me.
If I was still back at UBC, I would go there for a snack here and there, but I probably wouldn't be a regular every week. But in my opinion it's worth checking out at least once. -

food's okay. service is okay. service of the food is horrible.
doesnt hving vegetarian food on the menu prompt a thought that the appetizer that comes with the food should also be vegetarian??
if you're not sure how strictly a customer is as a vegetarian, you should always ask!
btw food taste is almost never consistent to time. something that tastes great can taste terrible the next time you're there.
**i'd never step into this restaurant again unless they make an true effort in serving vegetarian food. -

Hmmmmmeeehh..... this place is alright. I went to this place to grab a dinner with my friends few weeks ago. They serve decent food, at an OK price with an adequate portion.
Yes yes I know Chinese food are supposed to give you tyrannosauric portions but this restaurant is an anomaly.
Anyway I ate the pork here. Forgot the name though. It was good, but there were so much fat in there that I kind of get sick of it. I mean, in the past I've never get sick of PORK FAT! I love pork fat, but not in this restaurant.
All in all its decent. Oh, and if you wanna go to the toilet, you gotta go down to the cashier and ask for the key. WTF?
The only cool thing about this place is when you wait, they'll give you a vibrating object that will vibrate when your food's ready. Whee. -

Grossest bubble tea in the city!! Everything is made from syrup with pearls, not really bubble tea, more like a slushy... And what's with the paper cups?? You can't even see what you're drinking. Don't even bother with this place, go to Pearl Fever around the corner.

We go here (too often) to drink refreshing tea, enjoy a simple dinner, and my 2.5 years old hops to the sound of Taiwanese pop. Need I say more?
