Do you know what I need in life to be happy? Books and kitties. Wee Book Inn has both, so....how could I even dare handing out less than five stars?
All kinds of fabulous books, from scifi to romance to cookbooks and more. You won't find 20 of the same novel here like at Chapters, but that's not why you come to Wee Book Inn. Here, it's about the adventure of finding something completely random and awesome.
Worth a stop next time you're on Jasper! -

I was first introduced to Wee Book Inn by a former boyfriend I dated in Calgary. I love books, and so did he, so a visit to the shop seemed like a great first date. But you know what one me over? The cats! You'll notice that Wee Book Inn's signage features a cat perched (and I presume, purring) on an open book, and that's exactly what you'll find at every location. And although my Calgary romance was short-lived, my love affair with Wee Book Inn has carried on for nearly eight years now. I've even taken other men on dates to Wee Book Inn, partly because it's such a cool place to wander in on a date, partly to test their love of books and kitties.
I've even taken my formerly loved (and well-read) books to Wee Book Inn for resale. The shop also pays for previously loved movies and music. If your books, movies, and/or music is relatively current, or remains popular to this day, then you can be sure to get a good chunk of change for your goods. -

Talk about books, this place is where I spend my lunch break when its raining out or too cold to go any where. Talk about a FAB selection. I read alot and go through alot of books. I always leave with my selected treasures in hand and of course a little good bye to the dear Mamma Cat. Purrrrrr.

I love Wee Book Inn and I'm a frequent buyer -- and trader. I used to own over 300 books, but when I decided to declutter my life I got rid of nearly my entire collection. Wee Book Inn took the lot and gave it a happy home, I'm sure. I used my donation to trade for the Harry Potter collection in hardcover (previously I only owned the paperbacks). Now I drop in whenever I walk by just to browse. Because their stock changes so often, it's worthwhile to frequent this shop to see what's new. I love used books. I look for like-new condition if I'm buying as a gift, but personally I love books that have been written in, with ear-marked pages and highlighter all over the place. I think that tells as much of a story as the book itself. The staff at Wee Book Inn are always very friendly and helpful, especially the cat =) This is a great Edmonton business, and I encourage you to buy AND sell/trade your books here!

I've been trying to buy fewer books lately (they're heavy and a pain to move), but I still enjoy a good browse through the Wee Book Inn. They've got a really diverse selection, and if you're not looking for a particular title, you're pretty much guaranteed to find something that suits your interests and price range. The last book I picked up here was Brave New World for a whopping $3.50.
Even if you're not in a buying mood, this location (and I think most others?) are open until midnight every night. I'll sometimes make the Wee Book Inn my destination for a late night walk. Cheaper than going for a drink, and better for your brain! -

Wee book inn is a gem of a used-books store. Although I prefer the location and the spacious settings of the one on Whyte ave, I like that this store is located right on Jasper, close to (I think) a Second Cup and easily accessible for an afternoon walk-in and browse shop.
As expected, they have an extremely cute cat. Grey, thick-haired cat which is usually asleep (I feel sad that I don't remember her name!). The books selection is certainly good and the shop is deeper than it appears to be, at first. -

On a casual night stroll down Jasper Ave, I noticed that this store was still open. There was a sandwich board sign out front which says they're open late every night. Further research showed that all Edmonton locations are open from 9am to midnight everyday.
I'm an avid reader and can't resist a great deal on a book. I love the whole concept of these stores. Sometimes people have books that they'll never read again or they need to downsize or whatever the circumstance may be, chances are very good that someone else will find such books a treasure.
I am a treasure hunter when it comes to books. There is nothing better than finding a rare and/or out of print book with a price tag at half the retail or even less!
I found two interesting books that I can't wait to read and they were each a dollar!
I think my next step will be to bring in some books and VHS to trade or sell. I haven't tried that yet.
Did you know they're Bullfrog powered? That's right! Green energy! -

I went and took a gander around this store while I was downtown yesterday. I fell in love with the Wee Book Inn on Whyte and I wondered if it would be the same. The store is not as big as the Whyte Ave one, but it still compares. It has lots of selection (and a whole wall of mystery novels) and I enjoyed looking through the shelves.
More than the actual books, I LOVE the prices. A hardcover book for $7.50?? Awesome! This is the place to buy books, especially if you are not searching for something in particular.
I'm leaving the city this summer and I have decided that this is the store I will do my book shopping at!
