The owner is also the cook and server. She is the sweetest lady - like an eccentric great aunt? The food is vegan (no dairy, no eggs, no animal by products) but tastes unbelievable.
This place is one-of-a-kind for many reasons:
1. The restaurant is in fact a renovated home.
2. There is no menu and as a result everyone eats the same 6 course meal - salad, soup, bread, healthy juice, entree, dessert, and tea.
3. Odette (the owner) serves you at her own pace (so that the food digests at the proper speeds).
It is a wonderful experience and Odette is a wonderful person. -

Sure, weird hours and a weird location, but the food is fresh, delicious and unusual. I'm not even vegetarian, let alone vegan, and this has to be one of the best dining deals in the city. Other restaurants are tired with their year after year stay the same menu; Odette changes her menu everyday! It's a great place to dine with a vegan or vegetarian friend who doesn't eat out much due to dietary restrictions, and I guarantee you will like your food as well.

What the hell is this place?!? The owner is not an eccentric aunt, but a fear-mongering christian moralist who seems to think the rapture is right around the corner. It's not a convenient restaurant, you eat what you're given, and one short conversation with the owner basically cemented the fact I'd never go back. With so few vegetarian restaurants in Edmonton, it takes a lot to turn me off, and this one did. Don't bother going, but then again, it probably wouldn't be open when you did, of you didn't have a reservation so you weren't allowed in even with free tables, or she's running some nutbar christian cult group that day. Aviodance at all costs on this one.

In a small house on the edge of Edmonton's Jasper Ave. strip is a vegan restaurant that makes a person feel like they've just given back a small handful of what is owed to Mother Earth. (We are severely in debt with her, and to her). You can't help but feel good about eating in a place where home-cooked, healthful local food is prepared with love. The cuisine is French and vegan, which means there's no meat or dairy, additives or preservatives (I'm not vegan, so I may have missed some of the details here). It's a cool place. There are a couple of tiny rooms with tables and lunch is served from 11:30 to 2. There's only one meal to choose from. Everyone eats the same, like at home. So it kinda feels like you're sharing your experience with everyone in the small, quaint space which evokes a precious feeling of community. Each meal is $11.50 and for that you get a salad, soup, bread & dip, a fresh green juice, an entree, dessert and herbal tea. Come again?! Who ever heard of a six-course mean for under $12?! For sure, I'll come again! The food is fresh and delicious. Portions are small and service moves to it's own laws here, so expect to take an hour, and enjoy the atmosphere while digesting slowly. The owner, Odette, says that when your body has the time to focus on digestion it absorbs the nutrients more fully.
