These guys are great.  Excellent service, excellent food, and a good cuppa tea.  It's a little more expensive than Starbucks but that's ok, the tea is better anyway.  I'd comment on the coffee but I don't drink it so I can't.  The place has lots of seating, but it's often full of people on laptops.

The reason to go is the service.  They're friendly, they learn you fast, and they're generally pretty excellent people.

Out of all chain coffee shops (Starbucks, Blenz, Tim's, et cetera) Waves wins for serving the worst coffee! My friend told me that he had never had worse coffee then at Waves, I didn't believe him, so I decided to try...thinking that it couldn't be *that* bad...well I was wrong, and he was right! Burnt, burnt and more burnt! I didn't actually have to pay for it, as it was horrible. Yay me. :D

This Waves is good if you need to meet someone and discuss matters privately or need to do some work with a group as this location has a separate study room. They say that you need more then 3 people, and need to have a minimum purchase of $9, and can only stay in there for a hour...I was only with one other person, purchased just 2 drinks which were about 6 dollars, and was there for 1.5 hours...so I don't think they strictly enforce it unless it's busy or there is someone signed up after you...Friday evening around 5:30, it wasn't busy.

Bombay chai latte is where it's at! They don't advertise the Bombay chai, but they have it. Their tea tastes far superior then Blenz and Starbucks, because Waves uses Harney and Sons (like Take 5 as well). Mmmmm...so stick to their tea latte's and you'll be just fine! It's called the "Bombay Fog" actually, if you don't specify they'll use yucky chai syrup!

Anyways the ambiance of basically all Waves isn't close to being cozy...they should have really paid attention to that...the lighting and colours is way off...

Forget Starbucks! I love Canada's Waves Coffee House. I stumbled upon this cafe by accident after picking up their wi-fi signal on my itouch. I'm glad I did because I ended up going inside and ordering something.
The Belgian Hot Chocolate was heavenly and the Pizza Pretzel was simply delicious. Sweet and Salty and....Oh, forget it! Words can't do them justice. Just try them, 'cause they're amazing.

I'm usually here before work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, taking advantage of their toonie specials (well, it's $2.99 for a regular coffee and a muffin). I also love their Canadianas (the Wave's version of the Americano) as well as their Blue Mountain dark roasts. Perfect way to start the work shift.

They have a room in the back that people can book to hold small meetings, study groups, etc. I thought that was pretty cool.

The service is great and so are their bran muffins!

Yay! I am really pretty excited to see that Waves Coffee opened on No. 3 Rd. In my mind, there isn't a better place to hang out, use the free wifi and have a cup of coffee while watching people walk by. I am not the biggest fan of their coffee, but their desserts are delicious and you can't have something like that without a cup of coffee. So, I relent. The atmosphere is fantastic, I feel pretty positive when I am here. Oh and they have free parking in the garage behind....perfect. The place is just across the street and down a ways to the Bridgeport skytrain station and right down No. 3 from Richmond Centre. I will be hanging out here more.
