Had to remove a star for the mud ... There just isn't enough mulch to cover it up even in the prime people-walking area. Gravel might work better? Anyway, it's a messy place for your dog(s) to have tons of off-leash fun in a safely-fenced and legal area, and it's no more muddy than the on-leash areas nearby, such as the trail around Burnaby Lake itself. It is also equally subject to mosquitoes in warm weather. Bring a large bottle of repellant, or else get eaten alive in 3 minutes or less. Don't say you weren't warned ...
There is a decent-sized parking lot immediately adjacent to the southern entrance gate, which is very convenient if you are bringing dog(s) by car. -

On a nice dry day, yes they can be few and far between, warner loat park is a nice little fenced off-leash park for your pooch to run free and socialize with other dogs.
The area is well fenced, contains plenty of things for dogs to sniff and usually you'll find a dog there willing to have a little fun.
Be warned, if you go after a rainy day expect there to be some mud and if your dog is like mine - he will find it and he will roll in it.Listed in: Pooch's Picks

Yes, but... With so many people lurking smoking pot, and people cruising in vans surveying the scene in a suspicious manner, and some homeless guys taking residence in the washrooms, and the body found there last week, and the brazen coyotes that will just stand and stare at your dog... The place is a bit too Blair Witch for me and will only go with another adult.
