This place was recommended to me by a friend, so i knew it would be good.. and Vivian was really good, she definitely knows how to do eyebrows.. and when I went to make my appointment she was pretty full, so i know she has her regulars..
So why the 1 star? well i didnt ask about prices before (I should have, my fault), and so when I went to pay, she charged me $50 for my eyebrows + upperlip (waxed both, but she does threading too, and I will be honest, I did the strip right under my bottom lip too, which I've never had to pay for before, they've always included this as part of my upperlip). Anyways, I've never paid that much for waxing eyebrows + upperlip, so I asked for the price list to get the breakdown, but of course she didn't have one (although shes been open for I think over ten years).. And so I asked for the breakdown, and I can't remember the exact figures, but they weren't accurate, because she gave round figures for the cost of the eyebrows and upperlip, and said the remaining amount is HST (which turned out to be a round figure), and so it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the HST was just a random number, not really the actual percentage of HST (otherwise it should be a decimal number and would never add up to exactly $50), and she can get away with this, because it is cash only, no credit or debit.. so obviously the HST is not really HST, so don't tell me you are charging tax, as if I am stupid!
If you are going to charge $50, and have a price list to justify it (so you charge everyone the same prices), and charge HST properly, that is totally acceptable, and I have no problem with it, it is not about the price, its about honesty.
