Review from Peter S.
15 kinds of Rogue Beer? Holy hops man. I didn't even know there were that many flavours made.
This is by far my favorite-ist store in all of Vancouver. Mmm Heavenly Beer.
Both times I have been here I have had awesome service from their staff. They will give you a history/production/politics lesson on beer whether you want it or not. But trust me, you want it!
As Daniel said this afternoon, the best beer in the world right now comes out of the United States. And I agree. They really do put us to shame here in Canada. Better micro brews, better varieties, better selection, better everything. You pay for it though. Some beers are pushing $20 a bottle here. And they are worth every penny. They even cellar beers here on site.
They've got Brooklyn, DogFish Head, Moylans, and so many more wicked breweries here too.Listed in: Booze

2012 review (update):
I've gone back to Viti's a few times since "the incident" and it seems as if that guy isn't working there anymore. The staff have been very helpful and have made some awesome suggestions, they definitely know their product.
Plus, they carry Little Creatures bright ale and Coopers sparkling, so they're alright by me.
2011 review:
I've been buying alcohol from Viti for 2 years. Today, my partner was paying at the counter and was asked for ID. I didn't have ID on me and the guy turned both of us away.
This same guy saw both of our IDs at 10pm last night, saw our passports and licenses, saw that we are both almost 30 years old.
This place is overpriced and they only stock a couple of beer brands in 12 packs. They don't carry cases of beer. We *used to* go here for convenience. We'll walk the extra 5 minutes to Jimmy's Cold Beer and Wine from now on. -

The thing that most stood out to me on my trip to Vancouver was how dad-blasted nice everyone was. It didn't matter what I was buying or where I was going--people were always incredibly friendly, helpful and immediately started chatting with me. Viti was no exception. One of the staff members helped me and my friends pick out a few bottles of microbrewed beer, and she was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and funny. After helping to narrow down my choices, I ended up selecting a bottle of Unibroue Quatre Centieme to bring home as a souvenir. My boyfriend and I split it and we were not disappointed. It was tasty, unique and just the kind of thing I couldn't get back home that I was looking to give him.
The only bummer is the insane BC liquor taxes, but that's not anything they can help. (I think my Vancouver friends would lose their minds in a liquor superstore like my hometown Spec's.) If I lived in Vancouver, though, Viti would be my local haunt for my wine, beer and spirits thanks to their warm, welcoming staff and surprisingly good selection for their small storefront.Listed in: Fun in Van-city

Cute & Convenient -- You won't leave empty-handed!
I love swinging by Viti to pick up my "spirits." The shop is small, so there's a chance they won't have what you're looking for, but the staff really knows what they're talking about and they can help you find exactly what you never knew you needed - and I've got a beautiful half-empty bottle of wine on my counter to prove it ;)
They also offer complimentary wine tastings Thursday (4:30-7:30pm) and beer & whisky tastings Friday (4-7pm)! -

I needed to find a certain beer I had at a friend's house. I don't drink beer. How unlike me... But this isn't beer... it's nectar. Sweet, wonderful nectar. Anyhoo, I searched and I found out they have it.
On the back wall, I see the other flavours of what I want. It's the Lindeman's Framboise that I'm after. I asked the lady working for help. She is wonderful. Not only does she steer me away from the overstock shelf (whoops) to where it is on display, she also lets me know that there are cold ones in the cooler and the other brands I could try. Yay! But they are going in my car and they'll just get warm anyhow. She lets out a noise like I've punched her in the mouth and she tells me, "Don't tell me that!" She seems passionate about the beer. -

"Alright brain, I don't like you and you don't like me, but let's just do this so I can get back to killing you with beer!" - Homer J. Simpson.
Viti's beer selection has to be hands down one of the best in Vancouver! They offer a wide selection of craft beers and hard to find malted beverages that you're simply not going to get anywhere else.
You would think that at a place like this the staff would be stuck up and pretentious, but they are anything but. Down to earth, honest, and very knowledgeable about their beer. The staff is always quick to help and never quick to judge.
Oh yah, and they have a pretty decent selection of wine also if that floats your boat. -

How did I not know about this place sooner. Viti has an incredible selection of beer from Canada, US and further abroad. They also have cold beer which BC liquor often seems to believe is not necessary. I was so entranced by the beer I didn't even look at the wines or spirits but if beer is your thing, then this is your store,

This place always has something new, so you never have to drink the same thing twice. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The best liquor store downtown for sure. Every Thursday they have a wine tasting, and every Friday they have a beer tasting.

Spectacularly unhelpful. Asked them to recommend a dry rosé; the woman pointed at a shelf in the cooler, said, "These would all be considered dry," and walked off. (She also mispronounced "Calliope," but that's as may be.) Should have walked out, instead spent several minutes Googling wines and left with what I hope is a good one.

I've been using these folks as my primary liquor store for almost a year, and they are consistently terrific ... my love for them has been permanently sealed, however, as they've started importing beers from one of my favorite local pubs back in California ... try the Moylan's, particularly the Kiltlifter. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about beers, wines, and whiskys. When I hit the wine country, they offered recommendations about where to go. And, the store dogs are lovely. Well worth a visit!

Big, big fan of these guys. Fantastic selection, wonderful wines.
Upside is the fantastic selection of wines and beer, and very knowledgeable staff.
Downside is due to them being independent (purchasing power, etc.), sometimes prices are a buck or two higher. Definitely understandable.
My first pick in the city for both wine and beer that I've found so far. -

Terrific selection of beers here, although Viti is tiny! Easily the best beer store downtown. They also sell wine, but who cares?
