Located beside my favorite coffee shop Rocanini in beautiful Steveston, Violet Hill is a rare boutique with great selections... I always end up finding something...
The area doesn't get too crowded as with downtown shopping and is a nice retreat where I can shop brands like Maison Scotch, Something Else, Gentle Fawn, etc. Their shoe selection is also really cute...
Everything is neatly displayed and isn't cramped. Inside is bright and airy! Now I can accomplish both coffee and shopping in the same "place" =)
Chat with the owner, she is extremely friendly and helpful if you need some advise! -

I'm starting to shop and look into boutiques stores more now. Violet Hill did not disappoint. I was greeted right when I came in and felt free to browse with no coercion. The store was neatly organized and displayed everything to it's fullest potential.
I loved the wall of bags and the small collection of shoes they had. The racks of dresses, tops, pants and sweaters were all very pretty and trendy but were on a slightly more expensive side, than I'm used to but that's boutique shopping right? However, touching the clothes, it definitely had quality in every piece. I was very tempted to buy a high-wasted rose pink flowy skirt for $56 but I stopped the little shopping devil inside me.
I loved the very dainty and unique jewelry that adorned the shop as well - there was a feel for antique, aztec and modern jewelry scattered around the room.

With a bohemian flair as a common theme amongst all selected pieces, labels at Violet Hill boutique range from the recognizable Gentle Fawn to Alternative Apparel, to labels I was introduced to (and fell in love with!) such as Eryn Brinie, Liebeskind and Valerie Dumaine. Along with the many neutral and earthy tones available in store, there are also a select few bright and funky colors that will pair well with your wardrobe staples. Both the dressier and more casual pieces were consistent with the practicality, trendiness and femininity that encompass Violet Hill.

How did Richmond end up with such a great boutique like this?!
As I stepped into the store, I knew this was going to be good. A simple and clean blue and white scheme, a large open space, a couple of racks of clothing, a simple artsy armchair, and Kelsi Dagger shoes!
Their careful selection of clothing reflects in the brands that they choose: Covet, Something Else, Gentle Fawn, Spiewalk, Designers Remix, and a couple of other newly discovered brands today.
Lots of cute tops and dresses, jeans, as well as a good collection of jackets. Oh, did I mention that they also carry Kelsi Dagger shoes (Pour La Victoire's sister line). They have jewlery by Blee Inara, which were very unique pieces.
They only have one change room though, so it could sometimes be a bit of a wait.
So happy that I discovered this shop! (And it's right next to Rocanini!) -

Awesome little boutique!! I liked all the labels, like Maison Scotch and Fluxus. Boo to the one changing room.. would like to see more things like accessories and shoes added to the space.
