I have been to Vinyl twice now and both times I had a good experience. It is located on Jasper Ave with the rest of the clubs downtown and usually when I go by it there is a big line up outside. The line actually looks way bigger than it actually is because the giant line for the Oil City Roadhouse, which is the club it's on top of, is right beside it.

Anyways, once you get inside you gotta go up a few floors to get to the actual club which is really.. long. It is a good size. They have a few booths set up around the club for people that want to get bottle service and these booths are surrounded by mirrors. I always think of the club in the movie Scarface when I see those booths. They have 2 bars set up on either side of the dance floor and it almost feels like it is two clubs connected rather than one long club. Throughout the night  I found that people would pick one bar and stay on that side and not venture to far from it. The bar on the far side had more of a secluded feeling which is cool if you want to stay away from the craziness on the dance floor.

It's worth checking out if there isn't a huge line and if there's no line it's probably dead inside so don't bother.

So we thought the word 'retro' in the title would mean that they play music that is actually retro and we would know some songs from the 80s or even 90s.  Boy were we wrong.  We weren't the oldeest peope there as the oldest men were at the booth beside us cuddling up and buying booze for the 20 year old girls.  I would certainly not go to this place unless you are younger than early 20s or enjoy music that can be compared to banging your head against a wall all night.

However, it wasn't a total lost night as we did have drinks and  lots of laughs over the clothing and dancing of the other patrons.  They provided plenty of entertainment that's for sure.
