Review from Rachel F.
VINOmania is a top-notch wine store in Edmonton. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and able to give advice on wines. Having a dinner party? Tell them what you are serving and they will tailor recommendations to your menu and to your preferred tastes.
One thing I love about VINOmania is that they don't try to push the priciest bottles of wine on you and they don't make you feel unsophisticated when you tell them your price range is on the lower end. In fact, they have a shelf dedicated to "25 (wines) under $25". And the staff will willingly recommend other wines not on that shelf.
VINOmania has a membership plan which gives discounts on purchases. And they have a pretty decent beer selection. Perhaps best of all, they have wine samples you can try at the front of their store -

Vinomania has by far the best wine selection in my neighbourhood. The staff are very knowledgeable about their wines, and they have something for every price range. They have a tasting station as well, although I've never tried it.
They also carry a variety of other liquors, although I've found the staff don't know quite as much about those. -

This is a great place to buy booze.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will spend time with you should you ask them for a recommendation.
I liked the tasting area as well, especially after they installed the wine dispenser (Enosystem) and they usually have some knick knacks to go with the wine on the weekends.
Wine selection is excellent and is up there in Edmonton.
Beer selection is very good as they carry a lot of my favorite brands like Unibroue.
I would recommend signing up for a membership as you get a discount.
Prices are OK not the best in the city for inexpensive items as I don't think that's their target market for wines at least.
They carry a lot of accessories related wine as well so
They do have a wine club as well but I didn't indulge in that.
Overall one of the best places to buy wine in the city if you are looking for recommendations and variety. -
Review from Paula K.
Great selection, reasonable prices, and knowledgeable staff - what more could you want from a wine store? I was impressed that both high end and less expensive wines were available, as well as a reasonably selection of beer and other drink selections. The place has a very upper class feel to it without being snobby. There is even a sampling machine at the front of the store, some table space, and a "wine of the month" - type club. My only suggestions is to have more more signs denoting the origins of the wines - I had a heck of a time finding the ones from Argentina. Otherwise, a must-visit for wine lovers.
